Is there a way to join a public session alone?

Guys just use a program called netcut on your computer its so easy. You install netcut, open it, click your consoles/pcs ip, join a public session, click cut off, wait for everyone to freeze on the map and then click restore and about 10 seconds later everyone leaves. I've been doing it all last week and it works.

Doesnt work for me. Is it only for Wi-fi ?

As someone who grinds solo most of the time it was great to get in a solo public lobby by luck and actually have something to do. If we are going solo on CEO missions we would be able to do them in invite. It still consumes a ton of time and you have to do all the work anyway. Seems fair enough.

Unfortunately there is no lag switch option for me. I don't have a PC at home. Just my iPad and iPhone.

Fortunately, I seem to be able to get a solo public session if I switch lobbies about half a dozen times. Well, it's worked twice out of two attempts so far, and I hope it keeps working.

I didn't read through all the comments to know if this response was out there, but I join new sessions until it spawns me into a public lobby. Usually after the 3rd jump to a new session - I'm by myself. =)

On pc I open 5 twitch streams and a Netflix and get on my phone and ipod and open streams on there. My Internet is strong, but not godlike so I lag out in about 3 minutes. Big lobbies work best for this strategy though. Or I unplug the ethernet cable for 3 seconds.

I have a way to get into a public session on ps4 not sure for Xbox one. If you go to Internet settings and select your network and custom set up. Chose everything default except you MTU. You want to change this to about 800. Save settings and load gta up. Search for a game. It will leave you in the clouds for a while but will eventually put you in a lobby on your own. If you want to invite crew members you can and then leave and set your settings back to default so you don't lag out and just join your crews game.

Just investigating, but would lowering the MTU not make you more accessable to other players since you are able to share more easily with other networks. If you up the MTU (if possible. I'm still to check things further. I've just been doing some net searching) would that not chock the connection and creat a possible lag?

I've been doing this for the last 2 days and it's put me straight into a public lobby on my own every time. Yes it creates lag. But as your on your own it doesn't affect you or anyone. Have made 5 million plus

Works for me too, MTU to 800 on PS4 and solo everytime.

I don't understand why people are having so much trouble trying to figure out how to get into a public lobby with out any one else in it. All you have to do is pull the Ethernet cable from your modem or router for 2 seconds then plug it back in. Every one will leave the lobby 10 - 20 seconds later. This is a bug that has been in the game since release and one that C* is far to incompetent to fix, and they tried with this update.

You might wanna remove that mate, technically lag switching is against the eula - it's not something they can really prove, unless your id is in the video (your securoserve login is your psn id/gamertag). I'll try it out, someone earlier said it didn't work for them. Right now I use xlag to join a solo lobby rather than lag out of a full one, worrks every single time and only friends join when they chose join friend session.

Mate, everyone who has been here since the start of the sp-mp glitches know about that but not everyone is in the same room as their router - I'm sure there are people even robbing their neighbours internet. Right now I'm playing upstairs and my router is downstairs.

That's not lagswitching, it's just lagging, period, saturates his network lag out of the lobby

could you point out where in the eula says something like that?

people keep saying that, but i have read the eula and tos and dont remember ever reading nothing that imply lag switching is illegal in any way, shape or form.

Its funny , anytime someone does something someone else may not like , it suddenly becomes "illegal"

In fact, I'm renting half a house from a friend of mine, who lives in the other half, and we're both sharing the same Internet service. So it's never convenient and not always possible for me to disrupt the service even temporarily.

My PS4 isn't even connected with a cable, it's connected by wifi.

Just change the MTU setting on your ps4 to something stupid and you'll be solo all day forever.

There's at least 3 people saying this but some still won't listen.

And as for pulling the cable out of the modem, might just be my model but even if you only do it for a second, it takes a good few seconds to actually refind it's connection, by which time GTA has dumped me back to single player.

Works like a charm for pc. Maybe console users can do this too.

This is just what I was looking for. I've not played V or Online for months so I'm a bit rusty & was disappointed when I discovered CEO missions could only be done in Public lobby's.

Work's perfectly every time using the rule for outbound as well.

I don't know if this is common knowledge but I just recently found out this. If you have own public session that you want to use with your friends, keeping the total player amount at 3 or below keeps the session as your own private session for hours. If 4th friend joins your session and stays there for a while, it only takes few minutes for "randoms" to join. And when there is about 6 people in the session, it takes a few minutes to reach 15 or all the way to 25 or so. This is how it behaves for me when ever I start from a public session on my own as "the host".

Restrict the connection of your ps4 through your router. This can be done easily and from your phone. A lot of routers will allow you to set up individual profiles for access rights and blocked ports or already have such profiles for the means of restricting clients that belong to children or in other cases work devices from using the connection in in proper ways. For example blocking ports that commonly used for gaming or file sharing. Such profiles keep you from having to change individual settings like mtu or blocking ports.

I tried changing the MTU setting to 800 and for a little over two hours I was alone in a lobby. After that some players were able to join. The peak was five of us
