For anyone with a rooted or jailbroken device there's something called netKillUI and wifikill.

stop posting this. Didn't you learn yesterday when your thread got deleted. No one is going to root their phone with risk of bricking it just for this game. No one with any sense that is.
Don't know what you're talking about. I never made any thread about it. It's just a suggestion for anyone who has a rooted or jailbroken device. Just trying to be helpful

Phones > Some random multiplayer game

I'm not risking a necessity for it. Which is why that post got some flak.

FYI using a lag switch is dangerous if pointed at the wrong thing, can f*ck other players over if you're the host and is against GTAO TOS.

Oh that TOS! :)

Could blocking GTA's access to UDP port 6672 (just a crazy example ...) be considered a TOS violation? Seems like a bit of a "gray area" to me.

Use your phone to go on call for jobs. I'm on my own within a minute, it never fails.

I meant to put which jobs? heists? missions? adversary mode?

Any really. I noticed I would always lag when searching for heist finales in the past.

Works like a charm for pc. Maybe console users can do this too.

Perfect! Once I did it for outbound too it worked great! It also had the added benefit of blocking like 99% of the random invites, too.

Anybody on PC that wants to play totally alone, I highly recommend this method. Took like 2 minutes to set up and has been 100% reliable for me so far.

just change aim preference to free aim and you will be solo about 99% of the time in public session or maybe one or two people who are farming crates anyway...

Obey-n-Survive

For my PS4:

I configure QoS in my router and limit the speed to 0.1Mbps.

Success!

I tried the same thing and it worked like a charm. Simply use your computer and access your router settings. Change the QoS (probably under advanced settings) to 1 kbps or similar and wait for a few seconds. Once "everbody leaves" disable the QoS settings you should stay in your empty lobby.

Before trying this method, I tried downloading and seeding several torrents while streaming web-TV and such. Didn't help at all since I have great internet. #firstworldproblems

I'm on PS4. I set MTU to 800 and didn't see anyone until I set it back to automatic.

A word of warning - there's a known method for getting people into the large warehouse, with weapons available (just like the garage method). Go private, don't bother being a CEO, or accept you may get killed by a pleb.

Edit: That glitch has now been patched :)

Always had a problem with lobby's over 20 people. The lag is horrific sometimes & then it kicks me into a session on my own at least once an hour. Never thought it would turn out to be such an advantage. Now I can buy & sell my crates without the fear someone is going to blow them up.

This is the 100%, PS4, solution, I can confirm!

Tried a hundred other things, but this worked, easiest and 100%.

Pull internet cable out, put cable back in after 5-8 seconds.

Done!

On xbox you get signed out of Live within a fraction of a second, presumably it knows no cable = no Live without waiting for timeouts.

Probably he's talking about ISP cable to the router. It's quite possible to do it on my (AC87U). I can even disable the internet via adminpanel and enable it back before console will be disconnected from the live. Although, it's not guaranteed that this trick will do the job.

Out of curiosity, I was playing with the settings and discovered 2 ways with serious success rate:

1. Firewall. Use router admin panel to block ports R* recommends to be opened on their support page. 90% SR

2. QoS bandwidth limiter: 0.01 MB and you're golden. On Asus routers it's impossible to enter 0.01 in native firmware, but you can do it in custom. 100%SR. Did it more than 10 times just to prove my point to my mate.

Is it possible to invite friends to the session and it wouldn't fill up with randoms? Would they also have to change their MTU to 800 as well? Would it still be possible to use party chat?

Sorry for all the questions it's just that I don't know how all of these internet settings work.

No, that's the downside of this approach. Setting MTU to a low value like this basically disrupts the way clients communicate, to the point that they pretty much can't. It's not impossible that someone could end up in your session, but it's very unlikely. If you want other players in your sessions then you'll really need to look elsewhere.

I was talking about pulling the internet cable directly from my PC..

I only get logged out of social club if i disconnect more then 10 sec.

Guess this doesnt work on consoles because of psn and xboxlive.

I tried to lag out and it didnt work. I watched two 4k youtube videos and remained. Did the flying delivery anyway and no one bothered with me. I close the videos and continue playing, fast forward 20 minutes later when im playing a VIP mission the game lags out and gives me a error message.

Sometimes works. Sometimes you get out of online just for a 0,2 secs disconnection.

I'm struggling to get a solo session, does anyone know if you can you use lester to go off radar? I've been collecting single crates in busy public sessions and thought it'd be a real help if you could get an extra minute to deliver cargo

You can, but it only hides you. People can still see your cargo. If you are carying a crate they can see it moving around on its own...... ooh magic ;) .

Anything here is potentially helpful...

https://goo.gl/Rg6T32

You run it on your PC and the PC and any consoles on the same network will suddenly have a terrible connection. Get lagged so that "every other player has left the session", and go about girding lucre.

So this could essentially cause problems for other people in your household using their own computers on the same home network/router, for their own stuff?

Yes. It's the entire network connection that you're forcing to become sh*t, basically, so you get kicked from the session. You only do it briefly though. Once it happens you turn off the lag switch.

You are able to do ghost organization which hides you, associates, and your packages (if you have 12k to spare).

Ah. Well thats not really a viable option then.

As I can't be disrupting other PC's on our home network, and I'm sure there are a lot of others in similar situations...

This probably isn't applicable to everybody but I've found that if I log on a few hours before I actually want to play, I'll have lagged out by the time I get online proper. I go home from work for lunch so I jump into a session, plug my controller in and set my character watching tv as this keeps me in session while being AFC for hours. When I return from work in the evening I will be in a empty public session. From there I'll invite a friend or two and hope matchmaking doesn't throw a couple of crewmates in.

Watching TV in your apartment prevents the AFK Kick?

I never noticed that, does it work on PC?

Tried it yesterday, works like a charm, a few seconds were enought to be by myself, just bought the app, USD7, not really expensive, and i can play without idiots. Thanks!

Guys just use a program called netcut on your computer its so easy. You install netcut, open it, click your consoles/pcs ip, join a public session, click cut off, wait for everyone to freeze on the map and then click restore and about 10 seconds later everyone leaves. I've been doing it all last week and it works.

My method is: press lag switch button for 1 second, 10 seconds later lobby clears out, collect and deliver crates till you get tired of it with no interference from anyone. The only person using a lag switch affects is you.
