As we know, we cannot find animals in freeroam, but are there any chances R* adds those animals to future GTAO?

Well, actually, we can find one kind of animal, that is monkeys, in Humane Labs Raid -Deliver EMP.(maybe there're more kind of those I miss)

Thus, probably adding animals to GTAO is technically possible, but R* forgets about this...?

This is definitely at the top of my list along with the Casino and Biker DLC. Would love to camo up and go out hunting around the mountains in freeroam with a buddy.

Wow I literally just mentioned animals a minute ago, have a look lol.

Yeah people still swear to me they was eaten by a shark yesterday and I know it's pure bs. Why were they removed? it's next gen so we can obviously handle the data, even old gen have them still. Hitchhikers too, where they try robbing you or get a lift, Lester's assassination contracts.

I loved the animals, I was hoping they would make a zoo for GTA Online when I first heard about the game. A pet dog would be brilliant, I've got a pug in real life but would have a Rottie on GTA haha

People say this but never explain or elaborate on what they mean. Sounds like a sh*t excuse to me.

I just want a god-damned dog in my apartment as a pet. IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

As long as we can have pet/companion or having more interaction with them rather than road kill them, then having animals online is great.

If we cant, then it wont make huge different imo.

We need furry outfits. Imagine dressing up as a rabbit and being run over. Players could get bonus XP for eating raw road kill?

Back on old gen, the game would almost break apart if there are too many players or NPCs in one area, they disabled spawning animals in Online for the sake of streamlining and continued the tradition in PC and next gen.

I have no idea if the game would still work well if animals were enabled right now but I doubt it, even the graphic settings are lower in Online even if you set it to max compared to SP.

Title says animals in FUTURE gta online. Not this one. We all know rockstar couldn't make it happen on current gen. The discussion is about them being added in the next GTA.

not happening.

again, they chose for more players instead of animals

apperantly the game woud otherwise have rendering isues if they were to include animals in onlne

it has been talked about many times before

Hell no, the last thing we need is to add some further degeneracy to this game, i don't care if it's for "quirky" random factors it'll just ruin the vibe of the game for being inconsistent and appealing to animal fetishists. Edited by DangerZ0neX

They should at least do it for solo sessions and invite only. I understand it would be difficult in free roam but why not solo?

I guess I can. Every type of NPC has to be synchronized with the players and the servers. The more NPCs are out there, the more data has to be synchronized. Also, on another note, not every player has a super computer so those players are already lagging and often they got for that reason disconnected. Increasing the amount of NPCs will lead to a even worse scenario for those players which also has a effect on players with good systems (you all know the trouble of playing heists with one guy disconnects every time...)

So R* decided to cut NPC animals in free roam to give everyone a fair amount of "human" NPCs instead of cats walking down the streets. Animals only make real sense in missions when they are useful gameplay elements (what use case has a cat? Or a rat? Or a f*cking seagull? - Only dogs would make sense)

So yeah, now I grab my popcorn again.

Yes!

:pp

"Oh no! You can't hunt animals, that's just wrong!!!"

That's probably sarcasm, but yeah, I have reservations about shooting animals in a video game now, I was actually shocked by Tomb Raider back in the 90s, shooting Tigers and stuff.

Nah leave it. I was nearly in tears when a rocket launched by me at some enemies killed a nearby cat in Fallout 4.

:(

*shudder*

Many people say that adding animals gives great effects to game's stability and servers' load, but I don't think next gen and PC's performance is not as weak as they claim, because they have added some huge contents, like yachts, freemode events, 30 player capacity, and so on.

It has nothing to do with the systems hardware, it's the network limitations as R* uses a 56k/128k network limitation on the game. (I might have the numbers slightly off but it's less than 512kbps both ways)

not going to happen. And one thing you've definitely missed is the fact there have been countless threads about this in the past.

I'm pretty sure RDR had animals in it's online mode, but that also did not have traffic, just pedestrians. If they simply added them in addition to traffic and pedestrians I could see some issues coming up. But if they made it so a tiny bit less pedestrians spawned, with a bit of animals using their "slots" I wouldn't mind at all. In theory animals would use less network traffic than pedestrians since they don't have as many actions/possibilities. For example pedestrians wear different clothes and carry different weapons, while a deer is pretty much just a deer.

You don't get it. Imagine all the data in GTAV, but 30 times more memory. That's why they cut un-needed content online, such as tours. Animals would kill the game.

Don't give me the "BUHT ITS NEXT GEN!!!" excuse. Consoles arent as powerful as you think. Companies such as Naughty Dog have admitted the PS4 and Xbox ONE are already outdated.
