How is a Mk4 not easy to get? There are literally thousands of the things for sale.

Like I said, I'm being a tight c*nt on the budget. I could get a good MK4 golf for around 1200 easily, but considering I'm a new driver, I'd rather look for something cheaper, but that will also run me for at least a year without many problems. I'm working now, and I really don't have enough money to stretch the budget by a bit. Which is why I found the corsa for £700 in excellent condition with low mileage. If I go to the buyer and see there's things that will put me off buying it, then I'll have no choice but to up the budget anyway, and then I'll have to force myself to get something I want. I'm just being cautious and patient tbh. I'm sure you can understand. For this price, there is no way I will be able to buy one without it having problems. Next year, I will be moving onto things that are bigger and better of course.

Actually, looks like I finally found one somehow for £749. 81k miles, excellent condition with 4 previous owners, it looks to be in mint condition, 31 miles from where I live. Might go for this one and go see how it is. It's a 1.6l SE by the way.

 

edit: it's gone. at least there is another one i found for £800
