Shame about the railgun bug, still have all the vehicles to look forward to and the side missions so I'm not too bothered if a fix takes forever.

I have a cautionary tale or I don't know what about Rockstar Support. Long story short, I lost my RPB  which I got back in 2015 from my XBOX 360 game when I got the GTA5 PC. Recently, I decided to replay the singleplayer and was fuzzy on all details, so it took me a while to realize that I'm not getting any of the RPB bonuses, only the pre-order ones. My Xbox account is still linked and showing the progress in GTA5 but the bonus no longer applies. I've contacted the rockstar support, and the stupid rep first ignored my explanations and just sent me a boiler plate instructions on how to enable the RPB (which I can't since I got rid of xbox 360 a while back, it's been almost 4 years for pete's sake). Then the same "genius" declares that the bonus works ONLY once per single-player game! I.e. any new single player games after the first one with the RPB are not getting it. His advice is "reload the save". The guy is clearly incompetent or just clueless, for the life of me I can't imagine that rockstar restricted PRB to just ONE singleplayer game and every other SP playthrough is not eligible for the RPB? Basically, the rockstar is hiring tools or fools for their tech support, I can't really tell which.

This is worrying; that Supporters doesn't prove the correct information. The information provided is as wrong as it could be.

Thank you for your clarification. I was wondering if I was wrong about my assumptions but yeah, it makes absolutely no sense that RPB applies only to on SP playthrough. The question is now how do I get it back? Rockstar support is no help, I'm demanding that idiot passes my issue to his higher ups but no dice so far.

Well, one way is through my Services here, where you'll get a fresh new start. :)  

 

What exactly have you done to get the RPB yourself, and what do you have access to now? (as in, did you sell your XBox 360, or did you delete the save game, ect.)

Yeah, I got rid of xbox 360. On Rockstar, someone actually in the know finally answered, and they are saying it is because my XBOX account was new and created 3 days AFTER I've added GTA5 PC to my Rockstar account. If this matter, why the heck it worked in the first place? Rockstar reps are really reaching here. I mean these guys are just stupid or what?

Sorry just venting. Rockstar support proved to be a major disappointment, and the whole thing with disappearing RPB is just outrageous. Did someone really go through accounts and remove RPB from those whose XBOX360/PS3 accounts are older than next gen accounts? Stupid, just plain stupid and very, very underhanded approach.

To correct my post above (can't edit it for some reason), the Rockstar support claim is that RPB does not apply if nextgen account is older than oldgen (360/ps3) account. In my case, the difference was just 3 days. Seriously? This is enough to remove RPB which worked in the first place? It's just astounding, I can't create a dummy account to link to Rockstar account to avoid letting them datamine my entire history of using XBOX 360.

Yet again, they're in the wrong here. As smart-assy as it may sound like, it seems like I'm more knowledged about the RPB than Support... And that's not even a good thing :(  

 

Doesn't hurt to try, so I'm gonna give you some questions here;

  1. I assume you have already tried this, but did you unlink and link your XBox 360 account? 
  2. Are you sure your XBox 360 account is still "active", as in, does it still exist, and hasn't been hijacked? 
  3. Does your XBox 360 account have any restrictions applied?

This is again completely incorrect, as I encourage players to create a dummy PSN account for my services, and every single one has worked - or at least, that's what I've been told. Haven't seen anyone come back to tell me it didn't work :) The same applies to XBox 360 accounts. The date of creation has no linking to the Returning Player Bonus in any way.

So yeah, 3 days older XBOX 360 account does qualify for RPB in his opinion.

To answer your questions,

  1.  I did not try unlink my xbox account.
  2. It's not hacked, I haven't used in a long while but logged into yesterday without any issues
  3. I honestly don't know about any restrictions but I haven't used it since I played intro to GTA 5 4 years ago, so I assume there are none.

Try and do that first and see what happens. 

 

And if you have the possibility, I'd advice you load up GTA V Story Mode up on your XBox 360. If that's not possible, you may need to queue up here with a dummy PSN account. :)

Yeah, I don't have the 360 any more. I mean it's been 4 years, I've moved on.

As for PSN account, not sure if they don't block it too, given that they already blocked my xbox account.

How do you link accounts? like I said, it's been a while, I forgot almost everything about it.

You do the following, if you're on PC:

 

Go to Rockstar Games Social Club and log in.

From there, you can see all your linked accounts. It supports PSN, XBox Live, Windows LIVE, Twitter, Facebook, Google and Steam.

Yeah, unlinking-relinking my xbox 360 account didn't work. I've loaded the game and no messages popped up, I guess that answers that.

Sometimes, the message doesn't show up. You can check under SouthernSanAndreasSuperAutos.com if you can purchase the Stallion, Dukes and Blista Compact.

Then to me, it seems like something's not right with the progress which are supposed to be on your XBox 360. Your save game could've been deleted, and could've cut your rights to the RPB. 

Regardless, I don't think there's anything Rockstar can do.

Progress on XBOX 360 is still there, but save games are obviously gone as I don't have the XBOX 360 at all. The point of it all is that RPB worked! but now it doesn't. So it means someone at rockstar disabled it for some reason.

 

Rockstar support continues to press the issue of XBOX account being younger

This means your help to anyone with RPB is under threat of losing RPB, unless they waited to activate their next-gen GTA5 accounts AFTER you did the PS3 GTA5 account for them.

At this point I guess I've got nothing to lose and might as well try "queuing up" but at this point, any PSN account I create for this purpose will be ignored by Rockstar as per their new RPB policy and I won't get the RPB at all. Only an older PSN account will qualify but I don't have that.

Amazing how they keep pushing that. I've seen nothing in the ToS about a sudden change in the Returning Player Bonus. Seems extremely odd to change that policy all of a sudden, unless they're pulling it out of their ass. 

To make a test, I'll cancel the 1 month waiting time for you. Please make a PSN account and send me the details, if you can :)

Thanks. I'm wondering if it would be better to wait it out. I'm still in communication with Rockstar support, demanding for them to show me where it was publicly stated that the oldgen accounts must me older than the newgen ones to qualify for RPB. It may worth to wait and see if they change their tune. What do you think? I'm suspecting they are intentionally trying to shut down people without oldgen GTA5 getting the RPB through people like you, they suspected me of doing this in the first place.

I think a sudden appearance of a PSN account with GTA5 progress in my Rockstar account may be a red flag and prove them right that I got RPB without having played the oldgen GTA5. I'm trying to prove to those a-holes that they must restore RPB which was granted in the past and they can't just remove it over such a technicality which wasn't never even made public, or, like you said, is not in ToS

You may have a point there - then I'd suggest you wait for their final reply. If they simply don't wish to help, you can point your nose in my direction to get the Bonus you deserve :)

Well it's been over a day since my last message to them and Rockstar support is now silent like a fish. Three guys were talking to me (one idiot with "1 RPB per SP" explanation and 2 with "XBOX account must be older" explanation), now none of them is responding.

Cat got their tongue lol 😂

Honestly, the Rockstar support is full of retards. 49 hours after the last message this is what they were able come up with (4th person)

We are once again sorry to hear that you are unable to retrieve the contents for returning players on your new save for the Story Mode and fully understand your frustration.

Returning players on PC must have completed the "Prologue" mission on Xbox 360 and played while connected to the Xbox Live respectively. It is important to link your Gamertag used on Xbox 360 to your Social Club account to unlock the contents since it is one of the requirements. 

We have been able to see that you have linked your Gamertag account on the 06th of February 2019 but as also stated in the official article, "players will be able to unlock the Grand Theft Auto Online-specific content by completing various Story Mode and GTA Online objectives. Grand Theft Auto V Story Mode-specific content unlocks at various points throughout the game, beginning as soon as “Franklin and Lamar” is completed. Some items are tied to completing specific missions; others are simply available in the world for you to discover."

Please make sure you have completed the Prologue mission on your Xbox 360 progress and completed all the objectives which will unlock the exclusive contents on your PC Story Mode version. You should then be able to unlock and enjoy your exclusive contents. 

The a-holes are just passing me around like a football, and none them even trying to look into the problem. I wish there was a way to contact someone higher up in their organization but I suspect their management actually wants it this way.

Called the corporate office, wanted to complain about their support but the guy there just didn't want to deal with it.

This company is really a sh*thole. Nobody cares about the quality of the support so they hire all kids of bums to stonewall customers. GTA5 will be the last game to buy from them.

My God, that's some Grade-A sh*tposting. I'd say it's sh*tposting, really. Not offering anything valuable to the table.
