Serious Issue With Time Trials

I don't know whether anyone else has encountered this, but EVERY TIME I attempt to complete a time trial on a bike, if I get knocked off I can't get back on; the bike is never under anything, nor is blocked by anything. It's just sat in the middle of the road, and I just can't get on.

 

This is immensely annoying when doing any time trial, but particularly the longer ones, as I can't get back on the bike to reset my position. I have to assume this is a bug / glitch, because I can't see how this is useful in any way...

 

Anyone else having the same issue? Anyone know if it's been addressed in the past, or put forward to Rockstar?

Same here, when it first happened I googled it but I was surprised when I didn't find anyone else with this problem so I thought there was something wrong with my game.

if it's only during time trials it's not really a problem as you cannot beat any of the trials when you fall off.

you lose too much time during a trial with this.

I had the same bug. Sometimes It let me get back on and sometimes it didn't.

It happens when you're a VIP or bodyguard. A VIP can't go into passive mode. Doing a Time Trial forces you into passive mode. The game can't handle this paradox and refuses to let you on your bike.

It really is a problem though because you can't reset; if you're halfway through a 4 minute time trial and fall off, you have to spend time driving back to the marker to start again. Normally I wouldn't have an issue with this, but resetting is a genuine feature of time trials so it's annoying when it happens.

I don't see how going into passive mode would affect you getting back onto a bike; passive mode, whether forced by time trials, or a feature of the VIP and bodyguard player states, would only concern accessing the weapon wheel...?

It's a relatively well-known bug. A bug doesn't have to follow our kind of logic.
