Daily limit for selling vehicles

So I have been selling a lot of cars lately and more than once I have gotten the message that I have sold the daily limit of cars at LSC. Can someone please explain this limit with actual numbers? I can't find very much on it out there.

I may be wrong, but I believe you can only sell a vehicle once every in-game day.

Example:

You sell a car at Monday 11:30, you can only sell another car again at Tuesday 11:30.

In my experience this is not true. Before I ever got the limit I could sell around 20 cars per day. Now I think it's around 5. I just want some clarification on this. I want to know the actual numbers with it.

Last I played (23 days ago), it was one Stolen Car every 48 minutes (real time). However if you legally purchased the car you are about to sell, there's no time limit ... I sold 3 cars in a row last month.

It's bugged out and makes no sense. Some people get the message all the time others like me have never seen it. I just wish we could still sell a car on each character each 48 minutes (which was temporarily disabled due to a bypass glitch some 2 years ago :S).

if you want to get that limit up again bit by bit you need to wait like a week for getting it up to the next limit above again.

 

i'm not totally sure about the exact numbers of the limits.

but that lowest limit of 3 is definite.

to not get confused, this limit is for bought cars which you can sell one after another without the waiting time of 48 mins.

the waiting time of 48 mins in between is only for selling street cars.

As I know it is nothing to do with the numbers of cars it is the total value of the cars you sold. If you sell cars worth a lot(I donot know the exact value but it should be around 10-12 million) then the game blocks you for 24 hours real time.

 

Rockstar invented this last year to slow down the glitch car sales...

 

This can be what you are experiencing now while you are selling your glitched low riders one after other

LOL someones been duping cars!

 

It has everything to do with the number of cars, and nothing to do with the value sold, This has been discussed and tested at length on Se7ensins forum.

 

From my experience if it's the first time you've got the warning, don't sell any more than 10 in a 24 hours period, 24 hour period starts from when you sold the 10th car, if you get the warning again, it will drop to 6 and then if you get the warning again, it drops to 3 cars per 24 hours.

 

Not much you can do about it, seems to be R*'s only way of trying fighting duplicating cars.

I meant 3 in a row without the 48 minutes cool down period.

 

I sold a Chameleon, a Buccaneer Custom & a stolen Baller.

 

The only waiting I did was the time it took the mechanic to bring the Buccaneer, me driving it into LSC, the time it took me grab a Baller of the street & take it to LSC ..... Only afterwards, the cool down period began & I sold a Sandking the minutes the cool down ended.

Yes, you'll be safe selling only 1 a day, as long as youre selling a car you'll be good. But what i do is, i keep track of my limit. If you sell 1 a day than you'll never know what your limit actually is.

So you are saying that it will start the 24 hour timer after I sell the one car even if my limit is 4, for example. The only difference between selling one car a day and selling one less than my limit each day is the fact that I won't know what my limit actually is?

 

I would like to only sell one car a day because knowing the limit doesn't really mean that much to me, and it would take a lot of cars to keep up with one less than the limit each day (unless I just bought a bunch of rusty rebels, but that wouldn't make much money). However I don't really think that making money now is the most important thing, I have enough for now.

Yes. Sell a car, wait 24 hours, sell another one. That way your limit will increase, since you cant hit your limit that way (minimum limit is 3 cars). Correct, the timer will start at the moment that you sold that one car, it doesnt matter what your limit is. Yeah, you can keep track by selling one car less than the limit, but if you dont care about that than just sell one a day. Its just what you personally prefer, i personally like to keep track of it, but if you dont want to keep track of it than just sell 1 car each day.

 

So yeah, basically just sell one car every 24 hours and your limit will increase.

 

Your limit will only increase by selling PVs, btw.

apart from the daily limit for selling pvs you can sell unlimited street cars when waiting the 48 minutes in between each.

so this way the selling of street cars is a different issue than the selling of pvs.

 

but the other way around it seems to be another thing as selling street cars seem to add to the daily limit for pvs.

 

i recognized this when getting a daily limit for selling pvs although i have waited more than 24 hours to reset the limit.

i didn't have reached the daily limit (of 34 or so) before and waited more than 24 hours before i sold some pvs again.

in between i just sold one street car.

this street car obviously counted towards the daily limit which interrupted the 24 hour period, so i reached the daily limit for my first time after like 9 sold pvs on the assumed "new day".

obviously the sold street car made the 9 pvs counting towards the sold pvs from the day before.

 

otherwise i wouldn't have reached the daily limit for selling those 9 pvs without having had a limit message ever before.

 

what is the limit now for me after having had that message for the first time?
is it now down to 6 for me or is there a higher limit after the first limit message?

ok so I tried to get my limit up with the 'sell one less than your limit' strategy.

 

Day 1- I sell 2 cars because I dont know for sure what my limit is

Day 2- sell 3 cars

Day 3- sell 4 cars

Day 4- sell 3 cars no problem, then on the 4th car I get the message saying that I have reached my daily limit for selling vehicles

 

I waited 24 hours in between each day. I don't know where I went wrong

no, the only time I got the notification was when I tried to sell the 4th car on day 4
