In the "old days of GTA Online" there wasn't the Hydra and Lester didn't yet offer the Blind Eye, so stealing a Lazer was a challenge in itself. Also, if you crashed or were shot down you had to put the effort to go get one again.

In that same time the tanks were crazy OP with strong armor and no identification on the map (plus some flip-flopping BS regarding insurance). To make matters worse, there weren't any non-rank-locked weapons you could fight against them with. Until you could purchase your own tank, stickies, RPGs, and other explosives you had to run (since you can't use a vehicle in passive mode) or get creative (such as Cargobob'ing an NPC tank or hoping a Buzzard spawns for you)

Tanks got nerfed in multiple ways, The Hydra and Savage were added and now a rank-1 can purchase explosives.

History lesson over.

While the Hydra has the fastest speed, one of (if not the) best weapon rollouts, can be owned by anyone that can scrape together $3M and pass one heist setup, and has the most spawn locations for any Pegasus air vehicle there aren't that many people abusing it. Sure, there are some, but like the suicide queens, epileptic-squirrel tumblers, and skittering "Marksmen" they are a nuisance that can be effectively and practically ignored unless your K/D is critically important to you.

and adding to that, in the beginning Lazer pilots and tank drivers did not pay insurance fees for destroyed vehicles! And Buzzards (and Lazer) homing rockets would only lock onto to NPC police vehicles.

Jets are fine. Not sure why people insist that they're OP. A few heavy sniper hits make them smoke and most pilots kill themselves if you're anywhere near a building. I can't remember the last time a jet griefer killed me. You hear them coming a mile away and they're usually a fast moving red marker on the map. If I'm in the city I take cover, usually against a building or under an overpass. If I'm in the desert it's passive mode for me.

If you really want to balance the jet, make the HL more accurate with a longer lock on. The longer you hold the lock before firing, the more successful the hit. Right now the HL countermeasure only works against noobs and helicopters. But seriously, I don't have issues with jet griefers in the current state, not sure why some of you are so bad at the game that a loud, giant target can kill you against your will...passive works wonders, as does taking cover.

Hurr durr, I should not have to go passive or switch sessions, shows how OP it is!

(Just kidding, I am with you)

Because they were glitched, it got fixed but returned later then fixed again

My idea for jets is this. In a real American city, a rogue jet would cause mass scrambling of military jets to take it down. That's what I would like to see happen in LS. Constant pursuit and targeting by AI Lazers.

You are in the wrong place if you are talking about reality, but I agree with you that we need 6stars wanted level with military action.

epileptic-squirrel tumblers

That is epic. Hope you don't mind if I steal that.

So you want reality for just that one aspect of the game?

Do you know what would happen in real life if someone killed just one cop and remained on the loose? Or if someone rolled down the street in something like an armed insurgent or tank picking off civilians by the dozens?

Cliche as it is, just go passive. If you don't want to deal with a jet, then don't. There's so many options available, just let go of that strange gaming pride & remove yourself from the situation. The jets also have some downfalls. They're marked on the map, they're loud, they have incredibly weak protection & there's many places on the map where the jet can't reach, but a person on the ground can take potshots at it until it smokes or goes down.

I mean...they're freaking jets for goodness sake. They should be reigning terror, which is what they do.

How about no more jet threads?! That would be better.

The jets are fine the way they are, all air vehicles should have explosive rounds IMO. If there were no explosive rounds it would render the machine guns useless as tits on a bull.

The problem isn't in the jet's performance, but rather the performance of the homing launcher and it's ability, or lack there of.

This. Everyone must be tired of repeating themselves and R* pay no attention to the whining on here.

We may as well talk about scientology.

The homing launcher is fine as it is, with that you can lock any air/land vehicle and have 90%(99% on helis) to get a hit. It doesn't need to be OP also against jets, which are know to be the most manoveurable combat aircraft vehicles out there. Edited by Urustay Gordov
