Look, I'm too lazy to quote all of you guys here, but Icantthinkofowne, this would be the exact same person fighting the exact same person but without the advantage. Im not saying skill isn't a factor whatsoever, definitely not, but the handicap IS there, no matter what way you look at it. Lower level means less health means a disadvantage in combat, even if you are better than the other person. It might not make you lose all the time but it IS there.

oh and nacho you're saying im not opening up, i've already agreed on the stance on weapons.

A level 1 player can also get hold of the Lazer - arguably the most powerful vehicle/weapon in the entire game.

You sound a lot like Xenoxx, lol. Anyways, back on topic - not all high levels go searching out low levels. If anything, some high levels like myself ENJOY helping lower levels rank up, get some cash and get that new car they want.

Your answer is also subjective - I saw a level 7 obliterate a level 191 last night. Of course, the high level got him a good 5 times but the level 7 got him about 12 times before he rage quit. It's not always about health and what weapons you have in your arsenal, it's about skill and how you use said weapons.

I like to try to protect the lower levels sometimes... and will often go after a higher level player who preys on the lowers...

I also started a second account last month, nice new low level player and have been having loads of fun frustrating some of the high levels who seem to "think" that I'm easy prey with that character....

Tell me how it is not a disadvantage to new players, please. Because that's what you guys are saying.

Flacid, sure, but you'll still die just as fast, won't you? You can handle the pain, not the bullet wound.

My apologies. I'll make sure to do so whenever the quotes get stacked to 5 or more.

Anyway, after the slight reset of the thread, please, answer me this question: How is it fair and balanced, from a gameplay perspective, to give more health to the more experienced players?

It's not supposed to be "fair and balanced" it's supposed to reward those who play their game and give them incentive to stick around for a few months. Possibly it is also to reflect real life.

You are essentially asking "How come the guy who has spent the last year going to the gym 5 days a week is stronger than me?" "Why is the guy who has gone out shooting three times a week a better shot than me?"

If you think "enjoying the game" means PvP battles in free roam I feel really sorry for you, there's just so much other content and things to do.

I do tons of other stuff too, but the problem is that the guy who went to the gym 5 days a week and the shooter are better than you because of SKILL. Not because of unfair advantages.

Because he can afford to go to the gym, and you can't... he's better because of skill?

Seems to me he's better because he's got the money to pay for the gym membership.

Thats not skill, thats advantage.

It IS a disadvantage. It's SUPPOSED TO BE.

You are a new guy, wet behind the ears, a noob, so skills, weak, easy to take out by harder, more epxerienced and tougher guys.

Geddit yet?

Yes there is, but that's what comes with not having played the game enough to level up more. It's just the way it is.

I don't think it's severe enough to cause a problem anyway.

Sometimes, people will have an advantage. It's just life. It's not that extreme anyway, not when you factor in the vehicles a low level guy can get hold of.

Jamms, if that were the case, I'd be talking about some other nonsense, as my main char is level 134.

Icantthinkof, I've already stated on the very first page that I think vehicles in this game are pretty balanced.

The difference isn't going to saw off both of your legs but it IS the difference between an instakill and a two shot kill, so it's bad.

use bp helmet...

thats the ultimate equalizer in pvp situations.

seriously, for new players, the game is more balanced now that it was back in 2013.

Yup lol only had a sawed off shotgun and pistol to back me up back then.

Isn't being killed part of the game?! They get killed and they can kill if they know what to do. This game isn't hard.

The problem is that, as i've asked you people to answer the question from, from a gameplay perspective it is purely unfair. Plus, *gal

Icant, the problem IS severe enough, as it allows the heavy sniper to be a 1 shot kill on lower levels. Which isnt fair.

Tainted, sure it is, but it'll be harder to stay alive as a level 1 than as a level 130 regardless of skill because of how you have less health. Which is an issue gameplaywise.

If you are 134 then you should be able to hold your own then. And when new guys come in and you feel it is unfair in your favour, feel free to switch to basic pistol to give them a chance.

The problem is I'm raising a new char which has made me notice it a lot more. It's just unfair. You die a bit quicker, and in a shooter, that can lose you your kill. And if you have to switch to the pistol to give newbies a chance, you can see how there is an issue here, right? You shouldn't have to switch to the pistol because they've got less health, they should have the same amount you do.

Level 134 is still considered new and "low level" in this game; because the Levels are near infinite. There was a discussion thread here on GTAF just last month about a player who legitimately acquired level 1000.

I'm a hardened war veteran, and when I take a bullet, I patch up and keep on fighting for as long as I can. My newbie friend takes a bullet and dies of shock or lies on the ground screaming with pain.

As it should. The heavy sniper is a super powerful gun.

Tell me, just how many shots should a heavy sniper rifle take to kill a rank 4 player? Two? Five? Eight?

Do you want to increase their toughness or reduce all weapon power in the game?

And you seem obssessed with health, what about driving, aiming, flying, stamina? Should we reduce all of them to starting stats again for everyone? It;s the only way to be fair.

And when and where were you told that this game is or should be fair?

the other day i created a new account to test something and after a few missions i was combat ready with weapons that match those of the high levels(special carbine, homing launcher, proximity mines, BP helmet) all that and i was barely level 12, back in the day at that level i was running around with a pistol and a micro smg haha

Of course its fair.

Its an upgraded weapon you acquire from leveling up. Its a 50 Cal BMG.. FFS... not a hunting rifle with a scope. Of course its going to one shot kill... in fact I've 1 shot killed players TWICE my level with it.... AND shot down Lazer's with it!

Hows that for a level 1 with a Lazer, against a level 134 with a Heavy Sniper?

So many things wrong with this.

1. I am not suggesting any solutions to improve it, but I'm pointing out how it's flawed.

2. From a gameplay standpoint, if a game is not fair, it is flawed or just bad. There is no going around this.

What if you turn the scenario around? You don't have the instakill weapon as a level 1. You shouldn't have to level up to not die in one shot. This is called play-to-win, and is bad.

Answer me this, why would it EVER be fair to have more health than another player, from a gameplay perspective? No ''realistic'' or ''weapons'' or anything else, purely the health. Why would that ever be fair?

You literally just have an advantage. I don't care if you worked for it, you just have an advantage. That makes it unfair.
