Easiest Vigilante Strategy, no cheats, no glitches

Mad that I was busted (but thankful I was dating Barbara so I got to keep my weapons), I proceeded to shoot cops in the precinct until I got to 6 stars. I ran outside fully armored (there are 2 body armors in the LS precinct, and they respawn if you hang out long enough), killed the cops immediately out front, and hopped into the tank that was conveniently waiting for me. I had only been planning on f*cking sh*t up for a couple minutes but I realized I could do the Vigilante side mission in the tank! I've never been very successful at this side mission but figured it would be a whole lot easier in a tank. It was even easier than I expected, it turns out.

 

I ended up at level 36 with 362 kills, and it only ended there because I was starting to starve, both in game and in real life, haha. You only need to get to level 12 to get the upgraded armor, but I kept going for the fun of it. Wish I had fattened up more beforehand, or I would have kept going for a while. Anyway, as long as you can kill enough cops inside the precinct, and get into the tank without being killed, I've found this is a super easy way to complete this side mission. Just make sure your tank doesn't roll over, which almost happened to me twice. I might fatten and muscle all the way up next time I have a couple hours to kill and see how high of a score I can get before I waste away entirely.

 

Has anyone here gotten a higher score without cheats?

Oh. yeah. Many times. I've seen reports of Vigilante levels over 1000, but the best I ever managed was several hundred without the game crashing on me. The strategy that you are missing is that's it's possible to exit the vigilante vehicle to eat or snack. You'll only get a minute to work with but that's plenty of time to grab a full meal. However, fast food is a bit risky. Vigilante vehicles have a nasty habit of disappearing if you leave them outside a shop. A much safer strategy is to top off on calories at pop machines, vending machines, vending carts and Hotdog trucks.

I thought about it, but I had a 6 star wanted level and didn't feel like seeking out 5 or 6 bribe stars just so I could get a hot dog and do it again. Maybe in the future, but I was not that patient tonight by any means.

Hotdog Trucks appearence in an area often depends on the direction of approach. I learned this during the toughest session I ever had.

Hunter seems the best to me with switch ups on vehicles when necessary.

 

Level 1416 on record. I held the tittle for nearly a year and a half...I don't use cheats to quote the walkthrough author of the Ambulance Missions in Vice City for Tommy Vercetti..."Cheaters Go To Hell"

 

I am still planning to take on the new tittle holders record...for sh!ts&g!ggles It sure be fun to stream it off of the PS3....lol
