What makes a good Car Meet?

Do not sit at the meeting spot till the end of days. You can only stare at the same cars for so long.

Also, private session.

Any car meet where the host is dictating strict rules is unappealing: "Must have Mic, NO squeakers, NO troll cars, NO SUPERS" . I know why people state these things but it makes the meet sound like such a chore. It's a game, it's supposed to be fun. Relax a little and maybe more people will attend.

Spontaneous car meets in public sessions could be much better but it just draws attention from players who just want to blow things up. Invite only is the way forward (sadly) - it lessens the chance for opportunist trolling and if someone decides to be a douche, kick them and carry on. Most car meets eventually dissolve into chaos but moving around and doing things like drag races and other activities in the session keeps things a little more interesting than just standing around. When nothing's going on, the chances of someone pulling out the sticky bombs increases.

Back when lowriders were still a novelty I filmed this car meet - the biggest one I've attended to date:

It was all pretty relaxed, no strict rules with people barking at others down the mic about what was allowed or not, and when someone started acting up other players ignored them or kicked them. Lasted about two hours and I ran out of storage space for footage. Got a few snaps of the same one later on - the lobby took over Grove St and ended up outside the Maze Bank Arena after cruising all over South LS :)

No killing, no purposely ramming, no ranting and everyone in the session shoud know how to kick players because you generaly will have a troll in youre mids

Also doing a meetup in a private session is kinda adviced

Not everyone needs music blaring from their lowriders or their mics.

I was recently able to take part in my first car show with our own Cubanoking99 and his crew LegionFTW.

I brought many from my own crew Canadian Masterminds as well. It went much better than expected.

There was 24 players in the lobby at one point and nothing was destroyed and nobody was killed. It

was a great example of a good car show and I look forward to the next one!!

LOL, listen to you kids, I don't think the OP is interested in the idea of bombing the car meets. But you trigger happy people prove an important part of a successful meet is to host in a private lobby to keep the crazy f*ckers out. I've rarely ever seen organised meet take place in open lobbies. And if I've had an impromptu meet with friends in an open lobby, I welcome douche bags to try and even just get close, I'd suggest bringing a tank, you sneaky little c*nts.

A well organised meet is important, and make sure you only invite chilled players. And If there is the need to satisfy your blood lust, a controlled bounty hunter mini game is always fun after or between car meets. It's key not to have a control freak host, and don't take things to seriously, it's just a game, and it's all about having fun. If a car get's damaged, explodes or finds some unfortunate demise, you know what to do, use your phone and get a new one.

But most importantly invite me!

I've never been to a car meet in GTAO, I like the idea though.

I agree it'd have to be in an invite only session, preferably none car model specific.

I'm down for a meet, shoot me an invite on PS4 with a message of car meet.

I've hosted a successful car meet/vip meeting. To make it flow smoothy I'd recommend:

- Host the event with your own crew and other crews, do not invite mostly randoms with no affiliations.

As you can see the Gta community can be blood thursty so having most of the attendees being affiliated with a crew usually adds more accountablity and usually brings more sensible attendees.

- Use a theme or plan an event.

A car meet can get boring real fast, spice it up with themes or lobby events like vip sessions, driving through the city, set up a circle with the cars and fight cops etc.

- Don't be that host

The host who has to get his way, the host that doesn't allow fun to grow organically or because it's not their idea of fun. Let the fun come naturally, try to enjoy yourself and have a good time.

- Mics really help

Almost essential, at least half of the meet needs mics. Most of the fun I've had in meets is talking to people and making jokes.

I was recently able to take part in my first car show with our own Cubanoking99 and his crew LegionFTW.

Remember to be social with people. Have conversations they can all take part in. Ask around in the lobby about what type of activity everyone wants to do. Letting people get involved and feel welcome is always a big boost to the overall mood of the lobby.

Oh a lot of people are in tuner styled cars? "Hey guys, you wanna go drift? Maybe follow the leader style? Anyone got a good spot in mind?"

Actually, on Saturday I was able to attend a crew meet. And damn, it was a blast!

No theme, just bring w/e you wanted, and the chaos and hilarity that ensued was brilliant!

Titans were crashed on the LS beach, a Tank was cargobobed to a Yacht, the cops were called, a Valkyrie with full occupancy was accidentally sank, lmao.

It was def an awesome time.
