Tell me the reason why you don't wear heavy combat vests in heists

As a host I dont set the game to Player Saved Outfits. Instead I set it to Host Selection and then I spend good 5-10 minutes deciding what clothes my team mates will wear. Since they are randumbs the probability is virtually zero that they have the heavy vest saved anyway....

Btw, anyone knows if wearing the bullet proof helmet makes a difference in the heists? My theory is that NPCs always aim for the body and thus making a BP helmet useless.

Because it takes away the true feel of a heist

Who in real life walks in to a bank with a armor suit on that looks like a mercenary

Disregarding "real life" since this is GTA, there are at least three people in the game that walks into a bank with an armor suit:

Fair enough, but my character isn't an out-of-shape nice personold, a wannabe gang banger, or a meth head. My character also has substantially more health, stamina, and damage resistance...

Your character has more health, stamina and damage resistance than the single player characters? I thought you played the game to have fun! Lose the health and stamina, prove to the world that you're no pushover!

You got it. My alt is still sub-20 rank. I'll take her for a spin just for you.

Remember to reset her level when her health increases.

In all honesty, I have NO idea what point you're trying to make.

When you do heists with randumbs, you really should have it on because you're probably going to have to do the lion's share of the work. FFS, be practical, not prideful. Yeah, I understand it if you're with friends, everyone has a mik and is ok with failing or restarting. Playing for fun is admirable but rarely my goal.

When I ever join a heist (random) and see that setting to Host's Selection, I bail; and I'm happy to wait until the opening cutscene to do it so it dumps everyone to freeroam.

I don't care if everyone is rank 300+, promises more than 20% cut, and knows the restart-at-the-bikes and instant-finale-replay glitches.

Leaving it to the default setting is one thing, but when a host wants even more control, I know I want no part of their little dictatorship.

There are some people in this thread who claim that using the heavy vest is for cowards because of the extra health. I wanted to argue that the concept of having more health due to high levels should, according to their logic, be considered cowardly as well. I'm not sure if you actually proposed this argument, so me argumenting against you could be misplaced, sorry about that.

For everybody saying you can't sprint with the heavy armor. There IS A GLITCH AROUND IT.

When you start the mission equip one of the Christmas stocking masks then unequip it and it takes away your heavy vest and allows you to sprint but keeps the same damage resistance as before allowing you to sprint normally.

The reason I don't wear heavy combat vests in heists is because I don't do heists.

On pc i kinda like how therr is a chat option...i asked everyone in the lobby first if they understand english and after that if they had a heavy utility vest and i simply kicked everyone not responding or responding negativly without sympathy after 1 to 3 minutes.

Must admit 2 of the 3 i did the heist with lied about it.. but the 1 did not get a friend request and the other that did will probably be kept and exploited because...honestly...we did the heist in one go... that is if i feel like it.. chances are since he seems to like killing his teammates after the heist, i will not be able to afford revenge for it.

But yea.. my thing on heavy utility vests is a pretty strickt one.

If i do not host i do not care, if i do...people get payed 20 percent if they join with vest.

Without...they get payed 15

One exeption are people i do in fact see die less then those with heavy utility vest.

Fun fact: most who do not wear it...though im not saying they are truely doing bad without it....in fact they do die faster then those with heavy utility vests

source: me...and i probably earned 100 mil from heists by now....mainly grinding the pacific standard, but doing pretty well to extremely well in any heist or setup

I don't understand the whole "ruins my role play", "I wanna wear whatever", other responses to this not wanting to "forceably" wear it. We're well over a year with heists. 90% of people play heists to just kill time. Yeah, if you don't wanna wear it, nobody's holding a gun to your head. The margin is very slim between good players and those who are dogsh*t at this game, low, high, whatever level. Does it really hurt you to make it easier on others by adding protection? Are you really going to lose sleep because your fictitious, escapism avatar wasn't able to wear underwear/shorts/have their tits out because of your weird clothing preferences? People who wear regular clothes, who die often, are mostly the ones who sit in the Bitch and Moan thread, complaining about "randumbs" or whatever inane sh*t nobody competent encounters with setups or heists. They are the "randumbs". Put it on, shut up, make your money and move on. It's like saying you never eat the mushrooms in Mario because you wanna stay as small Mario. Wear the vest, eat some mushrooms, quit pissing people off.

This comes off as harsh, but I'm just saying.

It's also coming off the heels of watching a 400+ "badass MC bro" wearing his dipsh*t biker gang's gear to of all things, the bikes setup in Pac, and dying 4 times, without getting a single kill. Even if you don't need it, put the f*cking thing on, for your teammates' sake at least.

because they're f*cking retards who think looking good is the most important thing. "Who cares if we fail a 10000 times, atleast we look good!" Take your sh*tty biker gear off, take your stupid ass gangsta wannabe hat off, remove that worn out, cheap ass textureless suit and put a god damnn armoured vest on!

You wear kevlar maybe and thats about it

I like the true feel of a full scale Bank Heist

Thats why I sometimes am with my friend when it comes to more heists

I am excited for Fleeca Money Back Guarantee though if that ever comes to GTA:O

For now I'm hyped for new VIP Work

There was this which contained better-than-kevlar level or armor (though they were partially home-made and left some areas uncovered).

Their escape plan could have used Lester's help

Is it bad that I actually cheered for them to get away? Also, they had lots of equipments but their getaway definitely needed better planning.

They should've stuck with robbing armored cars.

I still don't understand... How does my character's mode of dress have any effect whatsoever on my teammates if I don't come close to dying at any point? Does my character's superior mobility demoralize them? Does anarchy upset them? Does my character's non-dependance on her exo-skeleton make them feel some type of way?

Metal Slime

I typically wear them for heavy firing missions. Sometimes purposely use bikini's only with PSN pals on Hard to challenge it a bit. Obviously never use it with random players especially since they kept causing more deaths. Ironic how they have perfect accuracy and skills including jet shooting in free mode yet dies constantly like they are new in the game.

I always wear mine because I value my time playing more so than whether or not people think less of me because they think "I need it". Time is money and limiting ways to fail is just a way to make sure there's less setbacks as i grind. No one wants to be stuck repeating a heist mission, so I do anything I can to not be "that guy" that causes a restart.

Have I played through the heists before, without it? Many times with no issues. Having it just gives me a failsafe, just in case. Why catch a fail if you don't have to, right?

Yeah, running is out of the picture, but tapping jump to hop along keeps you sprinting at a decent enough rate

I can't believe how many people don't know about the Christmas stocking glitch... People YOU DON'T HAVE TO JUMP EVERYWHERE YOU GO JUST EQUIP THE STOCKING MASKING THEN UNEQUIP IT AND BAM PROBLEM SOLVED.

First I'm hearing about this. Thanks for the tip. Although it's not like tapping jump is much different from tapping run like normal.

Then you either see your heist members poping out of the lobby because they don't wan't to put up with BS, or you end up realising that the set up of heist you will play don't have the military outfits available to choose(Pac Stan finale is one of these).

I'm doing CMM for my first time, so you can bet I'm wearing mine.

(I've done all the heists plenty, but this is my first proper attempt at that).

Because a lot of heist setups don't give you an option to wear them (unless custom outfits, which I don't have one in custom outfits)

you are who this thread is for.

you need to make an outfit with one on it.

Oh we got that one done last night. Luckily I had enough, but I probably should've stocked up anyway.

And thank you. It's going well so far - just got half of Series A, then the last heist to go. Fingers crossed there are no accidents lol.

That 10M should keep me tided over for the new update.

Because they slow you down too much and you're too reliant on being able to take more damage rather than attempt to take no damage.

I never use the vest, I pride myself on being able to complete the heists and hold my own in PvP without using heavy vests or the BP helmet.

Having said that, I have seen more deaths from players wearing full blown combat gear than those in a t-shirt and jeans during a heist. Bad players rely on the vest and helmet too much. Good players don't need it.

When my crew did the Criminal Mastermind Challenge we actually banned one member using the suit on some heists because it slowed him down too much (especially on Pac Standard - get left behind, police spawn from behind and you get stuck in the alley across from the bank) and he ended up dying more often with it on.
