Should Rockstar reward launch players with a special t-shirt?

  1. 1. Should Rockstar reward October 2013 players?

    • Yes, it's only fair after all they've been through.
    • I don't think so.

After playing through GTA Online's various technical issues during launch, I think we veterans deserve some sort of recognition. I recall spending hours running Simeon and Gerald missions for a measly $2000-$9000 each, just to load back into freemode and lose it all paying for $2000 hospital bills. I finally saved enough cash for an apartment and the next day Rockstar's cloud servers ate my character for breakfast. I had to make a new one and everything. It was terrible.

What do you think?

The experience from day one until now has been a good enough reward for me.

I would love it more if there were rewards for reaching certain levels above, say, 400. Maybe a car, weapon or something else entirely.

Another shirt that'd just collect dust in my inventory?

I'll pass. ;)

Also R* already rewarded the launch players with the 500k stimulus bonus a month or so after the intial launch as a thank you for putting up with their awful launch problems (losing characters, not saving progress, etc).

Which was horrible and hilarious because they gave out the money BEFORE fixing lost progress issues. Some people (myself included) literally lost that 500k before even getting a chance to use it.

True, true. I lost mine because I got placed in the cheater's pool a month or so after that so I feel you.

Just a T-shirt? Lol, no.

A map expansion, or a big new helicopter. That'd do me.

I thought that was unlocked when you transferred your last gen character.

How about early access to a new map(Liberty City) instead?

It's awfully quiet without shadowoperative . . .

No thanks, I don't need a t-shirt that will just sit in my inventory. I feel like there's no incentive to play past level 120, they ought to come out with more achievements, money or even special clothing other than a shirt? that'd be pretty cool.

I fixed it for you. :p

EDIT: I agree, we got $500K, so that was reasonable compensation, especially back when that was some big money.

PoeticWhisper

I just want something in this game that other people don't have. There is 0 sense of prestige in anything in this game. Almost nothing is unique. I think the most unique thing I have is the Manhunt mask, and I hardly wear that. At first I thought that it would be cool that some people would have really expensive things that other people didn't have cause they had to work for sh*t. lolno. Money glitches ruined a good amount of player progression. Suddenly when someone bought something expensive you 99% accused them for glitching cash. No sense of accomplishment.

I'm not gonna blame the glitchers though, they want stuff to play with and other than what I posted above I got no real issue with that. Just wish they kept some things rare, half the things I used to have became no longer rare after a while. Tailgater-was made purchasable. Roosevelt-was made purchasable(I worked my ass off for that 700k, and that was before they boosted mission pay) ect. In my opinion they need to have things that some people have and others don't. To some it may seem like splitting the playerbase, but I see it as something to make people unique for having something unique. And since like I posted above, that nothing is rare that costs money, having special items bridges that gap IMO.

I remember back in the day . . . (Which was only 3 years ago!) when we would only get 1-7K a mission, depending on the circumstance...lool. Everything seemed helluva expensive back then, and now if you spend an hour or two, you can make it to your goal in half the time.

Very true, they ought to have more rare crate drops for special clothing, or even guns or paintjobs or other valuables. You're not wrong, I do believe in "status" when it comes to MMO's.

You see someone crusing around in a nice car, or wearing fancy clothing, and it makes you want to work your ass off for that item. Once you pull off that feat, you get the gratification and bragging rights for doing that challenge.

That's what also pisses me off about the way they handled "content" this past month or two. Instead of rehashed cars being upgraded for 300+ dollars, how about putting out worthwhile content, or at least hearing out the populace and their ideas... it seems that the community of video games are more passionate and thoughtful than the company making the game.

That's just my two cents. There's a lot of things this game in general could be built up on more. Its funny, when I watched the trailer and they spoke about a living, breathing world. :/

at the time those 500k felt like a lot money hahaha

now we talk about a million this, a million that, dropping 2million on a single car, when back in the day the adder at a mere $1million felt out of reaching.

We already got radio shirt tops. Too bad for you if you missed them. Also; not to mention the Returning Players Content designed for this exact purpose.

Want to see this guy get another warning? Watch this:

Hey, ICant, what type of new helicopter?

*giggles*

OT: A shirt?! What kind of low standards are you living in, OP? No one cares about a shirt. Most players have nearly-topless females and shirtless men running around and that 500K is and was chump change when a turbo costs a whole new car. Nah, we need nude mod. We don't want more clothes, we want less clothes. If we're gonna live in a modern world, we should make progressive changes to that world to make it more realistic. I want to walk down butt-naked to the store to buy P&Q's and I want the clerk to notice how excited I am about those P&Q's. I want him to watch as I devour those P&Q's. I'm not kidding. I seriously want that. If R* are putting out coats that cost 15K, I don't want to wear any of them. And yes, there are shirts that are under $1,000 but this store that I shop regularly in is dirtier than a Wal-Mart bathroom in Alabama and I'm STILL overpaying for ripped jeans.
