NextGTA
Basically San Andreas with the map of GTA V represinting Los Santos, while including Las Venturas, San Fierro and other landscapes of GTA San Andreas. Other cities that should be included: Vice CIty Liberty City London Dubai Travel between cities could happen by plane. Basically something like this plus Dubai and London which would lie further away only accessible by plane: IT would be so cool to fly to Vice City, Liberty City or Dubai by plane and drive around in these cities and explore. the game should have varried landscapes to explore: - Jungles: - deserts (maybe near a city like Dubai): - valeys: - polar deserts (siberia or alaska like), snowboarding would be a cool activity in GTA: - mountains (already did in gta v, but cool to have again), - plains (racing) - rivers - beaches (although I think GTA V had way too much area covered by water => which in the end made the world feel so much smaller, since it's kinda boring to explore the oceans) - It can definitely be done, although Rockstar may be too lazy or too greedy to make such game (since people/companies want most money for minimal effort) Edited May 12, 2016 by NextGTA

Totallycasual
I honestly cant remember which Rockstar employee said it and in what interview but im 100% sure that someone said something to that effect, when you think about it its the only way to go forward if they plan to have the single player game and online game hitched to the same wagon. GTAO is a huge cash cow so they aren't going to make a new one and leave the current framework to die, they'll make a new city and connect it via the airport. Think about it a little further and they aren't going to double their workload and have a different setting for the new single player game and multiplayer game so it makes perfect sense. Journey_95
lol people still thinking GTA will be set outside of America, it won't happen people. And regarding all previous cities, I think that would be way too much. How would you connect them? How would the story play out?We should get 2 cities max, anything more would be overkill. Z1000
Are you kidding me. There's tons of ideas that could connect story and few big cities + countryside. I really think that next GTA should have at least 3 LS size cities + bigger countryside than this one in V.
NextGTA
The map could be something like this, with all previous cities: LIberty City, Vice City, Los Santos, San Fierro, Las Venturas. If they do a one city game again for the next instalment, people may get bored. beside we have already played all the cities (Liberty City and Los Santos twice, not counting Liberty City and Vice City stories), so it would be nothing new or grand. Rockstar always try to make each instalment of the GTA bigger than it's predecessor, so logically a GTA with all 5 cities must be the next step. Can you imagine a map like this? it would be so freaking awesome to drive from one city to another. http://i.imgur.com/LE7hPQt.jpg please don't embed large images, thanks! combustion
All they need to do is to create a bigger city, and add some countryside and a bunch of towns around it. There's no need to bring back previous GTA cities. GTAVGG
Shadowfennekin
Just bring LS back along with the new city. If the next game is LV or SF, that'd be amazing. Connect them like in SA. If it's Vice City, yep planes. LS as another city in the base game, then LC returns in the DLC story.

GTAVGG
One thing that annoys me about the gaming community is that they never seem to know when they're asking for too much. Honestly, despite how awesome this would be, I think we should just stick to a few cities at a time. SaucyPow3r
As much as I want to see all the cities from the previous games, I do not think it's possible. If Rockstar Games were to implement all the cities from previous games into the next GTA game, it will take too long for them to release the new game. GTA V's map alone took 4 years to develop (https://www.quora.com/How-long-did-the-map-in-GTA-V-take-to-build). GTA V's map alone took 4 years to develop (https://www.quora.com/How-long-did-the-map-in-GTA-V-take-to-build). Ah I see, but can't they copy paste GTA IV map, GTA V map and if they do Vice City/San Fierro/Las Venturas next, then copy past into the next game (possibly GTA 5 or GTA 6) and then connect the cities like in that photo of the GTA ultimate map. For example Farcry Primal map is exactly a copy-paste of the previous Farcry game, Farcry Primal is just made to look prehistoric, where as the other one is more recent era: So it's not impossible. Maybe they can do Vice City for the next GTA installment, then do San Fierro and Las Venturas in one or seperate games, and then eventually copy-paste all the previous cities and connect them into one huge game world like in the ultimate map. this game they could've have 3 switchable characters again (or maybe up to 5 one for each city). That would hands down be the greatest game EVER made. your right maybe the technology doesn't allow them yet to do this, but I did read a few years ago one of the top guys at Rockstar said their ultimate ambition with GTA was to have a game with all the cities. Maybe when the time comes when Blu Ray discs are up to 1 TB in capacity, and PS5 or PS6 era. I hope to one day play that game. Even with its huge size, GTA V for me felt a little small. Outside of Los Santos there weren't much you could do. GTA SA felt bigger due having the 3 big cities instead of just 1 even though the map was much much smaller than GTA V's. I loved driving in a Lambo from los santos to San Fierro and then to Las Venturas listening to the radio while maxed up speed. Neon-Noir 198X
I don't usually weigh in on these sort of threads, but ... This is not going to happen. It's completely unlike Rockstar to ever do anything like this. The closest we've ever gotten to entire maps being reused for an installment, was the 'Stories' line of Grand Theft Auto games released for the PSP and PS2, but they were created for the sake of having a fully fledged, playable Grand Theft Auto title on a handheld device. Completely different circumstances, and at the time they were both technical marvels. Reusing a map for a primary installment in the series is incredibly unlike Rockstar. Reusing assets is a process used in the majority of video game sequels, but reusing an entire map is often considered lazy, and honestly? It's boring. As GTA fans, we want something new. Something refreshing. Something that tells a completely new story, in a new location, with a completely different theme. Rockstar knows this, and that's why they've always done exactly that. It's a staple of the Grand Theft Auto series, and it makes it what it is. That said, I also need to touch upon the 'real life cities' concept. Whilst it has happened in the past, it was for one title, which was technically an expansion pack for the first GTA. It's not going to happen again. Rockstar has expressed that there are no plans to set a GTA outside of America - and this makes perfect sense. The entire core of the series, is that it's a parody of American culture and media. That is what Grand Theft Auto is. We will never have a GTA set in Dubai, Japan, Australia, etc. It's simply not Grand Theft Auto if it's not set in America. Osho
Dubai won't happen, but I would love to see more variety in the environment and multiple cities to return just like SA. Since I don't live in America, I've no clue about the cities that are best suited in terms of crimes, and history of other illegal activities for a game like GTA but I want to see a new city and interesting stuff from the pages of American crime stories instead of rehashing the same formula, copying and pasting from old GTAs las seen in IV and V that has now become stale. After that, I will admit there are not many other American cities that would best suit GTA. NYC, LA and Miami are just too perfect as settings for GTA, hardly any other American city can match them. However Chicago is ripe and ready for a GTA game, it would be so perfect for it. After a new VC, a new city based on Chicago would be the best option. If anything, Chicago is the ultimate GTA city location for all what it offers. Edited May 17, 2016 by Official General Uncle Vlad

I mean, you don't go from NY to Miami just like that, there is at least like 5 cities and miles of country in between. A story spanning throught America would also be a challenge, not to say a mess. This fantasy of a GTA America is just that, a fantasy, the best you can aspire to is a gta with 3 or 2 already created cities that are not connected and pray it doesn't suck. Lancerator
I'd rather have one-two small cities with tons of sh*t to do than having +3 cities + countrysides, etc. and getting done to reach somewhere. Seriously, but answering the question, it would be a little early if we join up all GTA cities, they didn't even remaked Vice City yet (if they're gonna do it) to join everything up. Anyway, I'll like to see other cities not implemented yet from other Rockstar games (based on, obviously) like Carcer City in Manhunt.

MrEnigma
lol sounds nice in theory..........the only semi-realistic way to incorporate multiple cities/environs is to do it SA style. Given the size of SA's map relative to V's, I wouldn't think an HD remake would take that long, however, enlarging V's map to incorporate San Fierro and Las Venturas probably would. If you want to keep things at a reasonable size/scale, given what we've seen in V, multiple cities in a single map would probably be out of the question..... Mister Pink
I can get with 2-3 medium to large cities. For me the cities never have to be larger than Liberty City from IV or LS in V for now, anyway. I've read a lot of comments on this forum that point out how people love the idea of traversing from city to city in a GTA game. I loved it in SA as it felt adventurous and purposeful as well as giving excuses to travel from one area of the map to the other and exploring everything in between. No GTA has matched traversing a map the same was as SA did for me, especially when it came to using airports or enjoying the driving and leaving the grey of one city to green countryside then that feeling of arriving at your destination, a different city with a distinctly different feel. I don't think it will be possible for a "GTA: World" (as in encompassing all GTA cities in one). Maybe next gen or gen after might you have a chance. Also the cities will need to be revamped to reflect how they would look now. That's quite a few cities. While the idea is exciting, it just seems implausible right now. @NextGTA: That map would be a dream come true. Jabalous
I highly doubt that there would be a future GTA game with more than one city. The time, work and money that go into making an HD city like IV's Liberty City and V's Los Santos are huge to make it unthinkable to do two cities in one game. Add to it the fact that with each new GTA, the expectations for little details go higher and it becomes harder and more time consuming to match these expectations. After all, Rockstar will have to utilize each new gen of consoles to improve their visions of living, breathing worlds, at least if they still care.
