Sad cause, I actually DO like Benefactor... love my Dubba 6x6 and my Schwartzer

 

Except that I realized that I own more Declasse vehicles then any other... Mamba, Moonbeam, Sabre, Tampa and Vigero,.. despite the fact that they're essentially all just Show Cars, especially the Benny'fied ones; I guess I wouldn't have bought them if I didn't want them! lol

 

I got more Declasse vehicles then Benefactor aswell, But I still have been voting for Benefactor the entier game.

 

 

 

Aye true, except that I actually do drive some of the Declasse cars I own, while of the two Benefactors, one sits in the garage and looks cool... while the other only comes out whenever Rockstar makes it snow! LOL

^^^i firmly believe that's the correct standing. Phantom clearly intended to down vote benefactor, can't take that away from him because the vote ahead of him was cancelled out.

RULES:

ATTENTION: While there always will be loopholes, there isn't always common sense; it isn't allowed to add and subtract from the SAME Brand in one vote. NOT allowed.
ATTENTION 2: If the person before you votes wrong (not forgetting to write correct the scores, but does not vote as the rule 1 implies), you shall ignore that vote.
ATTENTION 3: No more idiot rules will be added. If you are new to this game do as the regulars do. If you disagree; THEY are right, and YOU are wrong. Accept that or leave this thread.

Typically when a post is ninja'd the person updates the scoresheet with the most recent information (in this case whoever ninja'd them/posted immediately before them) and then post their vote. Their vote would not have changed. It would've stayed the same. In this specific situation, the ninja'd vote was more consequential than that. One of the three brands in the list were no longer there. There would've been a downvote that was unaccounted for.

 

So in this specific case of being ninja'd/posting at the same exact time, it would've been fine for Phantom_Aviator to change their vote to focus only on the two remaining brands in the list. After this, the vote would be final.

The previous vote from FlyingTank, who posted just before Verstappen, is what we would base new scores on.

What this means: Phantom_Aviator's vote, which came immediately after Verstappen, would be counted but the scores needed to be changed as if Verstappen never posted.

Khaisz is correct. Phantom_Aviator already voted and cannot change their votes after it's published. Regardless of what you intended to vote for, once your vote is published. It's final. Initially, Verstappen ninja'd Phantom_Aviator. Phantom_Aviator immediately changed their vote to reflect the ninja. After this the vote was final. You can't change it.

 

When Verstappen's vote was found to be invalid. Phantom_Aviator's vote was supposed to be the next vote used. Phantom_Aviator does not have the ability to take advantage of the situation and "change their vote to what it would have been otherwise" (if you will). The upvotes and downvotes for Vapid/Declasse would stay the same, Benefactor would be brought back into the game with the one downvote it had left. The scores would be modified to reflect Verstappen's "absence", but that's it.

The first vote was the only vote that could be valid. Because as stated above, you can't change your vote.

Plus, in times of incorrect scores, the following poster who posts a correct/rule-abiding vote of their own is not at fault for someone else's misgressions. Their vote stands. The scores need to be fixed, that much is true (even if Benefactor needed to be brought back into the game). But which brand they upvoted and downvoted stays the same regardless.

I understand the logic behind this morning's vote/score discrepancy. Khaisz sent me a PM about this asking for help, but I wasn't awake at the time. So I understand the desire to press forward. Some of the posts may have been in conflict with one another, and for better or for worse some of them were deleted by the moderators. Which is unfortunate, because I feel undercut in whatever actions I can take.

 

Phantom intended to downvote Benefactor, and was ninja'd. Because of Verstappen's ninja (which in this specific case brought the list down from 3-2), Phantom_Aviator had to change their votes immediately. When they did so, their vote was final:

+1 Declasse

-2 Vapid.

 

When Verstappen's vote was found to be invalid, that only affected Verstappen. No one else.

The only thing that would change is the scores.

Phantom_Aviator's vote would stay the same:

+1 Declasse

-2 Vapid

 

Original intentions or not. Verstappen's mistake cost Phantom_Aviator the opportunity to eliminate Benefactor. This is true, but unfortunate. However, there was no legitimate basis for a second/different vote to be made. Despite this, the game moved forward:

 

So here I am today today, hours later. I would love to say Phantom_Aviator's second vote was illegitimate, Phantom_Aviator's first vote should be counted and Benefactor brought back into the game. However, Phantom_Aviator's first vote/post has been deleted from the thread and a few other posts from that time have been deleted. I'm making this case after piecing this story together. Digging through posts, replying to things line by line like an investigator. The ONLY reason I even know what Phantom_Aviator's first vote was is because of a screenshot from a different poster.

 

It's like once it was decided to move forward with the game, all evidence of any discrepancies were wiped away with it. Which I understand from a confusion standpoint, but as an OP, my actions are undercut because I don't have a strong foundation to point to. Not everyone who's coming to this thread cares enough to think about it that deeply and even if so, without defined links and posts to confirm things, it brings too much doubt into the situation.

 

So we'll have to move forward with the scores as they are now. And after this wall of text you could ask, what was the point of all this. The point is to provide clarity to the situation and clarify to the rules. Had posts not been deleted, the game might be different. But for now the game presses forward.
