Better is a relative term, I drive my Ruiner and Phoenix a lot more than the Massacro which more or less only gets brought out for races, but the Imponte's are free roam regulars. Beautiful car though the Massacro. I've owned a JB700 as I love the real car and the films it's in but ultimately the fake guns got on my tits enough for me to sell it.

 

Not keen on the Rapid GT or the Exemplar which are both good cars mechanically but not for me.

I feel that. I shouldn't have said better as an absolute. That's definitely just an opinion.

 

I find Imponte to have good honest cars, but my experience with both brands has been pretty much the opposite of yours. The Massacro RC is one of my favorite vehicles to drive in general, regardless of class or situation, while the Impontes I've owned have been sold or go long stretches without being touched.

 

I don't feel as strongly about Dewbauchee's other models but they've certainly gotten more mileage than the Imponte's in my play time.

If I had to pick one car to be the 'best' car in GTAO I would go for the Massacro, stunning looking, fast as hell and handles superbly. I barely drive performance cars though anymore, out of all my garages my super/sports one is gathering the most dust.

Lol, how can you not see it? It's a Nissan 300z. Can't remember the year, late 80s or early 90s. Somebody posted pics of the exact one alongside Ruiner pics a long time ago. The front end is 100% 300z. The hatch is 300z. It's tiny, exact same body size and shape of the 300z. So yeah, it's a Nissan, which is why it infuriates me, being a former owner of an IROC, which the Ruiner should be. It's not. Not even close.

It looks like a combination of a Trans Am with an IROC-Z (like you said) imo.

Nacho, you see a lot of Ruiner in there, because it's a 300zx. The 300zx was basically the Japanese version of the firebird. There were lots of similarities, even the exact same T-tops. Still, it's a Japanese car, and should not be portrayed as an American muscle car. That's blasphemy.

Well I don't know these cars that well, but from what I can gather:

The Ruiner looks just like the Japanese version of the car, which in turn looks similar to the American version. But because it's closer to the Japanese version (even though the cars are similar), you don't like it?

Not having a dig at you, I'm just not too clued up on the cars in question. I suppose I can see the point. Although sometimes, the more you like something, the harsher you get on it - look at how this forum is with this game.

Personally I'm not into the debates on what a car in GTA is supposed to be, I like cars and I drive one but it's not a passion of mine. To me the Ruiner looks like it's intended to straddle both the IROC and the Nissan styles. It's got the hood options of a Camaro but the spoiler options of a Japanese car. It's what you make of it I think for that particular car.

Well to my eye, I'd say that looks a lot like a Ruiner. But that's the eye of someone who's not all that clued up on these two cars, and wasn't really involved in the debate. Oh, and it's the eye of someone you hate.

 

But for what it's worth, I do think that car looks a lot like the Ruiner.

The entire front 3/4 of the Ruiner is that 300zx. A carbon copy right down to the t-tops. The rear quarter was some Mazda that I can't remember. Only rear end is Firebird.

 

Most importantly, you can't overlook the body size. The Ruiner looks tiny next to the Dominator, just like a 300zx would. The Firebird is a big, beefy muscle car, and would dwarf the Dominator.

 

So, to answer your earlier question, it's like this. The Ruiner/300zx is a smaller, Japanese version of the Firebird/IROC Z, with a few borrowed parts. If somebody IRL was having an An American muscle car meet, the 300zx would not be welcome there, despite it's similarities with an American muscle car. So to me, don't tell me that tiny Japanese thing is a muscle car. Lol

I think the Ruiner does a good job of replicating both the third gen Camaro and the 300ZX, personally, which is nice because it gives the car a lot of depth; it can be a completely different car depending on what the owner is trying to replicate when customizing it. Honestly, I'd be happy to have a car in GTA V that only partially represented my car IRL. I have to go back to GTA SA and drive the Vincent if I want that, and that thing is a f*cking horrible representation of an E34.

 

Edit: I really don't agree with the front of the Ruiner being a carbon copy of the 300ZX. The latter has a much more curvy profile, whereas the Ruiner is very flat, like the Camaro.

As Pat stated, the Ruiner is a carbon copy of the of the 300x, which I completely agree with. However, according to the GTA Wiki page, the Ruiner is based off a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am. Hopefully, that settles the argument, which I doubt it will, of which vehicle the Ruiner is actually based on.

Other way around - I said it isn't a carbon copy. Also, I wouldn't trust GTA Wiki on vehicles. Last time I checked, they said the Sentinel in VC and SA was based on the Honda Accord.

 

Edit: yep, they seem to think it's an E28/Accord hybrid in VC, and an E34 in SA, neither of which are even close. It's almost entirely based on the E23 in both games.

My mistake on quoting you incorrectly. Also, can anyone please explain to me how the Sentinel in VC remotely resembles an Accord? It looks nothing like that! But then again, since I don't know much about BMWs, I can't really vouch for the accuracy of what the Sentinel is actually supposed to be. To me, it resembles a four door variant of the E27.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but if you mean the E24 (pic), that's pretty much what the E23 is: a 4-door E24 (pic). I'm probably biased since I owned an E23 before my current E34, but the VC & SA Sentinels will always be E23s to my eyes.
