DLC Weapons Elimination Game

Unless you look at Maibatsu as a whole (Trigger, Sanchez, Mule) theres no reason for that brand to have made it this far. Especially when you consider the fact that Enus, Obey and Gallivanter produce much better cars (plural) in every way, from styling to performance.

 

The lone Penumbra is decent at best. The Landstalker is a boring Dundreary now. The Kuruma is a Karin and GTA IV Galant is history. I don't see the logic behind Maibatsu's resilience.

 

 

If Rockstar actually gave a sh*t about their own lore and the GTA universe as a whole, we would've gotten a Maibatsu Monstrosity resembling the Mitsubishi Pajero, but nah we need to badge car models with the wrong brands and release lowriders.

I agree with this. Maibatsu has so much history in the Grand Theft Auto series. Game after game. More history than most brands on this list, actually, and the best they could do is the Penumbra...and nothing else?!?

 

It's such a shame.

 

And yeah the Pajero definitely should've been the Monstrosity. I have no idea how we ended up with the Ford Expedition of all things (as the Landstalker) either.

Although I love the original Sultan and the Sultan RS upgrade, and appreciate the iconic status of the armoured Kuruma, there are too many glaring offenders in the Karin brand.

 

The Asterope?, the Dilettante?, the BlowJob XL? And I'm not keen on the Futo or the Intruder either, and don't own any of these vehicles. The Rebel is pretty cool though when you bolt a DShK 50 caliber Machine Gun on the back.

It's probably more of a pain for mobile users to have to change the colour.

Well some people don't like the coloured votes.

 

Personally, I use the same colour, but I put it in writing so it stands out more - rather than "+1", I write "plus 1". I don't know if it helps much, but it makes it a little bigger and clearer anyway.

Just evening things out a little. Karin would get lonely up there by itself, and - being the company that made the insidious and unbecoming Kuruma - it doesn't really deserve that spot anyway.

I really don't like when people refer to the Kuruma as an awful troll car. It's the Kuruma Armored. The regular Kuruma is a great, good-looking, well-performing rally car, and although so is the Kuruma Armored, I can understand the hate for it. I know that you're actually referring to the armored variant and that you can vote for whatever you want, but I just wanted to say that.

It kinda...tickles my nerves when they say bad things about the Kuruma as a whole when they're talking about the Armored Kuruma, lol. That's all.

Not sure. I like many more brands than I dislike, so I've got lots and lots of positive choices. But I wouldn't downvote brand X just because someone I don't like is voting for it, especially if I quite like that brand. It doesn't make sense to let your personal feelings interfere with your tastes.

 

For example, I'm downvoting Karin because I think it has more poor makes and good ones, not because I'm trying to get a dig in at people who like Karin. It's my personal taste, or lack of it, that's all, and reflects the contents of my garages.

This game was not intended to be so personal and dramatic. These conflicts over votes pop up and it's really not that serious. People are going to vote however they're going to vote for whatever reason. You can disagree with their choice, but there's no need for it to get so contentious. We're discussing vehicle brands, so keep the discussion on the subject at hand.

Agree 100%. The mod has unintentionally derailed the thread and discussion with his/her heavy-handed approach. It was a valid argument too, and entertaining to boot. Back to something other than GTA forums, I guess :(

So the last game restricted comments to the vote only. Posts outside the vote lead to drama and chaos.

 

Then things tightened up and commentary went back to being restricted. Then the lack of discussion made the game feel sterile.

 

This game was meant to avoid much of that imbalance. Comments are allowed outside of the vote because the subject matter is relatively neutral. It's hard to put too much emotion into inanimate objects, etc, etc. But yet here we are.

 

It shouldn't take RedDagger or any mod to come into play for these games to be civil. But it does. That's the problem.

 

Keep the discussion about the merits of the brands not the motives of the voter.
