Mister Pink
Very topical and superb show. I watched the first episode last night. It's quite heavy and dramatic, with some great dialogue although at times it seems forced and unrealistic, I mean it's very theatrical. It's certainly influenced by theatrical sensibilities with the actors speaking to each other like we're sitting on the side with the audience in a theatre. A lot of the conversations are quite topical with references to the presidential campaign, trans issues etc. I've only seen those two clips I posted and the pilot episode so don't have much to report on. However, it's Louis CK's creation and I'm sure there's a lot of you that will have an interest in it. Just don't be expecting a comedy. It's more of a drama and tragedy with rare humorous elements. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DU0lCpeyS5c Edited May 12, 2016 by Mister Pink chetwalters and El Dildo 2 RUBBΣR░J♢HNNY (スオッ)
darthYENIK
I listened to Louis talk about the show on Maron. I love how he's just making it. If he feels he's done with it, he'll stop doing it. He talked about realizing that shows have developed and written to last. They are made to make another season. And the writing suffers for that. Characters don't develop in natural ways, because if you're trying to plan for season two in the middle of season 1, then you are hamstrung. You can't put it all out there, because you need to save stories for next year. A character has to develop over a long period of time, and sometimes that's not how it works. Events occur in real life that have immediate impact, and can completely change a person. On a network, they don't want that change to occur until the final season. I admire the hell out of Louis. I loved his stand-up, then he made Lucky Louie, and then Louie, and all along the way he's done it his way. And now he has the ability, not only to fund himself, but he has the ability to get big name talent to do stuff like Horace and Pete based on what he can do as a writer/director/artist. That said, I haven't watched it yet. But I will soon enough. El Dildo and Mister Pink

And I totally agree. His work ethic, be it in his stand-up or how he produces, writes, edits, directs is inspiring to say the least. Louis will inspire so many generations to come. He's definitely going down in history as one of the greats like his hero, Carlin. I've still only watched the first episode. I'm waiting for her to watch it so we can see it together. @Diablo: I'll give that a listen. Man, it's strange listening to Opie and Jim without Anthony laughing his head off throughout.
