I don't understand why "some" CG players do nothing but run into LG threads just bad mouth LG like its hurting them in some way?

They want to feel superior and the only way they know how is to rag on people who have a different console to them.

 

The only thing that has changed since the early days of Nintendo vs Sega is the consoles, the players are still arseholes to each other.

The leap from PS to PS2 and then from PS2 to PS3 were both MASSIVE in terms of quality and experience. PS3 to PS4 is just shinier. Sure, it is great, but it is not the leap that we've had before.

The servers will remain up until Sony decides to shut down PSN for PS3 and MS follows suit with Live for X360.

YES!!!

 

That and Resistance were the first 2 games I got for PS3. Motorstorm is still today one of the best racing games on PS3. I absolutely love Burnout (the whole franchise), but Motorstorm was lush.

Microsoft already stopped manufacturing 360s, but is still running Xbox Live for now. Sony is still making PS3s and last time I checked, they're selling way better than 360s. Sony always supported their consoles longer than the rest. They supported the PS2 until a little after the release of the PS4.

I just wanted to say that Online will remain up until both PSN and Live are out of business for last gen.

 

Just look at IV's multiplayer, it's still live and running mainly because the Peer-2-Peer servers, albeit lacking in quality overall, are very cheap to maintain.

I have hundreds of hours off and online on last gen . I did a cheap rental for my ps4 but have no desire to purchase. When i get the urge i play invite only on my ps3 which works well enough for my play of survivals, contact missions, and races. The lack of the amount of grass and foilage does not lessen my experience. Nor does the lack of the haze the ps4 version has.

 

Also Gta 5 single player is great on my ps3 as i have the option to play it patched, un patched, or patched to where i want it. With patches i also can start a new game with a garage full of update vehicles. Single player performs better for me if not patched past the summer of 2014. 1.14 or 1.15.

 

Last gen gta online not getting updates is one thing but the lack of double pay/double rp events is another. The return of free roam activities like armored cars,distract cops, ect at high frequencies of occuring would be nice. It worked in a prior special event that did did not cause performance problems when the frequency of those activities were near impossible to keep up with.

 

Gta on my ps4 will be gta 6, not 5.

How about patching out FB support, since PS3 no longer supports it and all it does is make the message pop up while loading the game even though I've never used FB in the first place.

 

Anyone knows how to get rid of that?

i am on last gen and i would like to see it die quietly. just let us last gen folk enjoy the rest of what we got and live with that enjoyable memory. i have never been able to see why people think it is so cool to hate on it. just what did you people play on before "new gen" came along? are people really going to forget that old friend that got most of them where they are now? if you are on NG then be glad to of had LG, because with out it NG would not be what it is.

There is no way, unfortunately.

 

Be happy with the stupid message only coming up once. In Uncharted 3 it comes up twice.

As if the game recognizes: "Hey, Facebook doesn't work. That can't be. Let's check for Facebook again..."

It must be so sh*tty to be a game developer and constantly having to simplify and cut game features and mechanics to cater an obsolete technology. The real motivation here is money, the sales, otherwise the game would never have made it on the 360 and it's competitors. Don't expect any changes there any time.

 

Consoles used to be such a great thing, now they're already outdated on release, and an obstacle to creativity because of performance and financial imperatives.

As Rockstar has been saying here, they cannot produce any more updates for LG due to the hardware limitations.

I think the XB1 is now selling for 299 USD. It's summertime here, so get a summer job and start saving up to get one.

I know its little kids that keep on asking this, due to the lack of understanding why the developer can't do anything further with the LG paper weights.

One would think Sony exclusives could at least have that sh*t patched out. Gran Turismo 5 is the reverse kind of stupid. After every startup, an 'online no longer playable' or such message comes up and needs to be clicked off. I.e. they actually patched that alert in at some point.

 

BTW as for the whole LG/CG 'discussion', if I ever buy a CG console (and that's a big if), I'll probably want to play Sleeping Dogs and Watch Dogs again in nicer graphics... Not GTA V though.

 

Now, if GTA IV got re-released... That's something else.

They shut set a shut down date range of about a month, and the 1st time people log in within that month will be the last time. They should delete all of the online mechanics and most of the map so they have some processing power to work with and create a death scene for your character - have them be driving away from bikers with Trevor and it says "mission complete", then you get out and celebrate with Trevor and Ron before Trevor pulls out a gun and kills you, stands over your body and and snarls "f*cking narc". Then it says Gta Online is closed on ps3/xbox 360. Then you get a trophy for the final cut scene. If you don't log in within that month - tough sh*t, you missed your chance, the servers will be closed.

 

I don't know if this is even possible, I do know it won't happen, but it would be a nice send off.

I have a ps3 it was bought well after its release too. All the games play just fine for me. I also have a resto-mod 69 camaro rs ss with a LS7 and a 2010 c6 ZR1 which is obscenely not stock. Wife has a cushy e class mercedes. I also have a few cars I bought at Barrett-Jackson. Along with a million dollar house. Owning a ps4 isn't even on my radar or at the top of my important list.

 

The people who can only dream about cars like mine are the ones who think gaming is a priority. So you may call me a peasant, but that ps4 doesn't make up for that fact you have a bus ticket for a ride or civic to put around town in and live in a studio apartment. That's of course if you're not apart of the other side of the spectrum which is people who still live with mommy and daddy.
