Someone should explain to Rockstar what the actual meaning of the word "Soon" is...

By their definition last time they used "soon" it meant over a year.

I mean, don't get me wrong, they're not horrible, but they certainly didn't deserve 2 friggin' years of waiting, especially considering their incredibly linear design. Thanks R* for the new missions with pointless cutscenes and (un)funny monologues that get old fast from the contact we're doing the heist for.

This includes contact job form, freemode activities, PVP capture-like mode (cops and robbers), and the co-op ones we have now.

Yes, f*ck cool concepts and trying to make them work. Contact missions with sexy cutscenes with uncle Lester is all I wanted, my biggest complaint is that I can't play them because my boner keeps knocking the controller off my hands.

Of course if things were rushed and the new content came out completely broken and riddled with bugs the same folks who cry about how long DLC takes would be grandstanding about "I don't want to be a beta tester for your game", or "make it work before you release it".

 

In software/game world, it seems like a tradeoff between waiting a year for an on-time product to get patched so that it functions or waiting for deadlines to keep getting kicked down the road again and again.

Don't forget that R* designed all the heists at least twice after they decided on the style (contact job, pvp, free roam, etc.). The first set was scrapped near the end of development because R* realized that not all the players were getting a decent amount of gameplay/action during the finales, they originally were very similar to the SP ones where you'd have your getaway driver just sitting around waiting for the rest of the crew to do the heist.

Forget delaying updates, starting from scratch will really piss people off. If they literally let you carry over nothing and give you little in the way of returning player bonuses, why should we bother? Anyway, getting back to it specifically, there's no way they're selling as many copies now as they did months and years ago and yes, plenty of people are leaving. If anyone here's going to say that a ton of their GTA friends haven't recently left the game, they're either in denial, lying or blind. Why do you think they released this information when the updates were clearly a bit away? Sure, they're benevolent, right...

Oh, I'm perfectly aware of that. My line of reasoning is simple: do not trust R* with release dates, especially when there is no clear deadline. I'm not interested why, because it's pure rhetoric and PR bollocks.

I mean, my friends list still has majority playing GTA, and these are people I met in game. It's the only game I play, mind you I haven't played as much. Most of my friends on my friends list aren't even up to date on the upcoming updates, they just play because they're finding enjoyment in whatever it is they're doing Online.

 

Than again, maybe I'm just illiterate, not blind, and my friends aren't actually playing GTA.
