GoonOnFire
Hi everyone, I am inquiring about upgrading my computer in order to run GTA V on Pc, but hopefully with a decent FPS if I'm using some graphics mods. (Crystal Reality, even?) This is my current PC. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883220562 Please keep in mind, I know NOTHING about computers so I am trying my best to learn. At first, it was suggested that in order to run it comfortably, I get a 2Gig GTX 960 with a 430Watt Power supply. I've wanted to play this game on PC for some time now, so I'm simply saving my money and plan on going for a fairly decent build so that I can really get the true PC experience. After more searching and video watching - I saw that you could do the GTX 980 SLI, but as of now - the GTX 1080 (Which is cheaper) will actually be better than that. If I upgraded to a 600 Watt Power supply and purchased the GTX 1080, would I need anything else? As I've said, I understand that with computers, when you change one thing - you probably need to change another to compenstate for the loss/lack of power. Any help would be great. Thank you in advance. Edited May 8, 2016 by GoonOnFire
Crystal3lf
This has most/everything you need: https://www.reddit.com/r/PCMasterRace/wiki/builds If you have any specific questions about GTA V, or something you don't see in there I can help you with it Welcome to PCMR. As you said, the GTX-1080 has been announced and is coming out soon but it will definitely be overkill for 1080p gaming. I would probably go for a 1070 version, unless you're planning on 4k or VR, or of course you have money to burn. You have an APU, which is sort of like a laptop CPU. It's a decent one, but I wouldn't expect amazing performance with it, it is probably enough. You definitely will need a good 80+ rated PSU if you are going to put a 1070/1080 inside, but make sure it fits first.
