Floyd and his demise. An idea.

On a replay and loving poor old Floyd once more. The guy really has it tough. He's a cowardly sycophant and loser.

 

So I was thinking, what if rockstar missed a trick?

I think the story turn would have been way better if When Deborah returned Trevor didn't kill them but instead Floyd, under all the pressure of the previous weeks, snapped and killed Deborah himself. This leads to Floyd character radically altering. He goes from what we saw, a man who had coiled up and repressed every emotion for his whole life to a man let loose. All the people who had put upon him and bullied him would have been the fuel to unleashing a maniac.

 

When we see Trevor leaving the apartment covered in blood it was a great moment. You got to see how dangerous he really was, he fought and killed two armed people and beat them to death.

 

But I think what should have happened is that you see Trevor leaving but later Floyd shows up and we find out that inside the apartment Floyd snapped, beat Deborah to death and then told Trevor he need help in disposing of the body.

 

Floyd is then a man with nothing left to lose and joins the crew. But he is a loose cannon and keeps going too far. Trevor himself has to tell him that there are still rules to the game and that he is reckless with no purpose.

 

I imagine that his ultimate demise would come from his being violent and challenging someone far worse. But I think this would have been a better end and more interesting turn for the character.

 

And it would further show the chaotic influence Trevor has on everyone and everything around him.

Apart from that, though, I like the idea. But for all we know that might have been what happened! I hope so, because otherwise, we have a character who spends the entire game moaning about someone betraying him, when he himself betrays others relentlessly

Man, Floyd was pretty much the only decent person in the entire story, guy got bullied, beaten, raped and almost got unemployed thanks to Trevor, he didn't deserved any of that and whem he finally snaps and stands up to Trevor, he gets killed.

 

Although the GTA world is not exactly a place for nice people to survive, it was still a bir f*cked up.

yeah i saw your post about how Floyd supposedly killed Debra but it was debunked rather fast.

"A news report heard on the radio states that a man was found shot in the head and a woman stabbed to death, which leaves the interpretation up to the player. It is likely Floyd was shot by Debra (twice), while Trevor stabbed her multiple times with Floyd's knife."

 

It's just wishful thinking. Rockstar couldn't provide a story we actually cared about so now we have to make up our own stuff.

Though i love OPs Idea, if Floyd really did snap and became a maniac just like Trevor the story would have been improved by SO MUCH.

I'm really question as to what is going on over at R* that they simply couldn't provide a thrilling story. I'm new to GTAforums.com but there are so many great ideas being posted and discussed that it just baffles my mind, and most of the time it's only little things that had to be changed.

What if Dan Houser was just telling himself: "I don't have anything against Floyd and Debra, but let me sacrifice them off-screen just to create the biggest conspiracy theory ever!"?

I'm still calling it. Mr. Raspberry Jam did it. Trevor just helped clean up and told him to lay low for a while and he'd place him on the front of his truck.

Lesson: When Trevor wants to bully you, don't stand up to him. Or you could end up as syrup all over his clothes or have the best part of you on the bottom of his shoe.

Some people have stood up to him and it was pretty badass: that Manuel guy from the Civil Border Patrol encounters, Michael, Trevor's MOM.
