Dnnup
Hi I have lots of questions, how do I get this game running 60fps without dropping it drops to like 55 fps when im driving fast cars. Here are my pc specs: -msi gtx 970 100me -i5 4590 -8gb ram -windows 7 home premium Also, when i try to play it on 1920x1080 res on my 720p 32 inch tv fps drop to 24, what the hell? I have played it on another 48 inch tv at 55-60 fps with the same settings? What could be happening? Sorry im new to this master race stuff
stobe187
By adjusting the graphical settings accordingly. Grass quality is a hard hitter on FPS, so is antialiasing. I suggest going into a heavily forested area, whittling down the settings until you get a solid 60fps and that's it. If it runs at 60 in the countryside, it'll definitely run at 60 in the city. SilverRST
I suggests these settings: Grass on High MSAA off FXAA on Shadow quality High Soft shadows. (Do not use the NVIDIA PCSS shadows or AMD shadows) PostFX on High Soft shadows looks almost equal to nVidia shadows but the soft doesn't cause FPS drops like with nVidia shadows. Reflection quality can be set on Very high and population, traffic and vehicle sliders to max. These are the settings i use on my i7-4770, GTX780, 16GGB RAM and Windows Home 64bit. However, your TV's may have a very horrible response times compared to PC monitors. Edited May 8, 2016 by SilverRST

Sorry im new to this master race stuff You shouldn't be setting your resolution to 1920x1080 if you only have a 720p monitor. If you have a 720p monitor it's either 1280x720 or 1176x720. If you want to after, you can use framescaling mode to artificially increase your resolution, but this is a work intensive setting. In GTA V there are areas in the desert and sometimes at night where the engine has to render all the light/shadow physics where frames can drop. 55FPS is nothing to worry about, and your monitor/tv will only be 60hz, so even if it goes beyond 60FPS you won't be seeing anything extra unless you overclock or buy better monitors. Omarock
Don't use MSAA with a 970, stick to FXAA. Also set grass to high.

I used 2xMSAA on 970 and it caused fps drops to 40 near grass heavy areas. FXAA obviously looks worse but I choose a steady 60 fps over good graphics any day. Mostly this, except my PC is the same as OP except I have 960 instead of 970 and I use very high shadows and postfx ultra no problem. Can use very high grass no problem, too, but i think it causes a crash sometimes? Edited May 16, 2016 by TheHumanIsland
stretchx9
On my current setup I get 70-96 fps with only one 970 on line. It took a lot of configuring though. Less than 60 is certainly not a game breaker.

My 780 is gimped and crippled at its best lol But f*ck it, hopefully upgrading when upgrading to 1080Ti, it will let me play GTAV maxed settings with grass on ultra without problem. GTAV is still a bit heavy for 780 and 970 but 970 owners can say the otherwise TheHumanIsland
Coolstream
If you'd like, you could just copy my settings. Running anywhere from 80 to 150FPS but at least it won't ever go below 60FPS from my experience. I'm running a much more powerful CPU though, so keep that in mind. Also, you'll likely have to manually change what Hz your monitor (TV*) operates at, easily done with the display settings.
