Anyone notice that peds are running and screaming for nothing now?

Use to need a rampage or something to cause this but recently I've noticed that it seems to happen in every session. Nothing is happening or if it is it's miles away and peds keep running and screaming.

Last night I was in a solo session buying a mask and they ran past for two or three minutes screaming. Fairly annoying to listen to screaming.

There was nothing going on and I hadn't caused any trouble for the entire session.

Welcome to GTA Online. It's always being broken somehow. Maybe more so without The Benz.

I didn't notice as I usually have that effect on people anyway.

And the Police are more aggressive now. Shoot a cop: automatic 3 stars...

Happened same time as they added (back?) the sudden-u-turning-peds to the roads.

Rockstar troll us. Accept it and it all makes sense ;)

Arrows to Athens

I've noticed NPCs are on more shrooms lately.

People with masks are scary.

Screams give me boners.

Run them over and it stops them screaming

^ I did wonder whether it was some ancient "peds get scared by masks" realism code that they've turned back on recently.

Things I've noticed that have changed with NPCs over the past couple of years:

• Yes, they start running and screaming for absolutely no reason now. It's just silly.
• Pedestrians no longer walk across cross walks like they did in 2013/14.

• More NPCs carry guns than ever before.
• Some of the best NPC chatter is no where to be heard, any more.
• Donut carrying NPCs are less frequent than in the past.
• Coffee carrying NPCs are more frequent than in the past.
• Less blood effect on vehicles when hitting NPCs (by accident, of course)
• NPC / AI driving is more abysmal than it's ever been. I see it every time I'm online and it's just crazymaking.
• NPCs run players down more frequently than ever before, mostly targeting a player's ankles, just enough to knock you down. Also, the sideswipe.
• Stealing an NPCs car is easy, but it's become more difficult. They don't slow down as frequently.
• It used to be if you pointed a gun at an NPC driver, they'd stop and often back up their car, get out, and run away. Now, they just plow over you.
• NPC fist fights are the worst. In GTAIV, you ran the risk of actually getting your arse whopped. Now, pffft.

I'm sure there's more, but those are some of my observations. Cheers! :)

Sure, eating donuts it's bad for your health, but in GTAO, it's downright deadly!

With all due respect, the crap our Gta character gets away with its no wonder they don't always freak out in our presence.

Maybe the npcs were reacting to scripted environment events? Like when the cops fight with a gang banger or with other npcs and the surrounding npcs freak out.

@Fw3 lets just say there's was an accident when there's a gunfight , i'm surely knew they would've hit the gas into players in middle of streets like trampled by horde of running bulls

Like you've never run down the street screaming for no reason in real life OP? Perfectly realistic, isn't it? I mean, we all do it don't we?

Last time I saw a juvenile delinquent running around in the real life mall, brandishing a chrome AK-47 while wearing a monkey mask and pink shorts and nothing else, yes, there was a lot of screaming and panic.

Worst thing was, he wanted to violate all of our mothers, and he was impugning everyone's sexual preferences. :p

Almost 3 years of constant violence in the streets makes them panic easily. That's how I justify it.

Could it be you took the mask off in a crowded place ? .

Actually, I legit have noticed this recently. In a session my myself, just walkin with no weapons out, and everyone starts screaming and running away. Weird.

Did you have your wedding tackle out again...frightening the townsfolk?

Yes.

Then it's your own fault. I told you to cut it out.

If I lived in a city where tanks, fighter jets and other people rpg'ing the ground to kill themselves only to respawn down the road, roamed the streets then yeah I'd be screaming non stop just to buy milk.

They were screaming and it annoyed me so I ramapaged.

Then realised, I just made that worse :(

It the same as when you go past a police station and there are not players for miles around, but the police are all pointing their guns and shouting about how killing makes them erect. Yet another in a long list of things broken in this game.

I wonder if it's connected to the way you hear every enemy shouting at the start of missions now, even when you're miles away. NPCs seem to be instantly alerted to a hostile presence, no matter where it is in the city.
