Should I be worried if my email ID keeps getting mentioned by random email accounts with the topic header seeming to be the same (Russian?) sentence every time, on Google Drive? Havent checked it out cause I'm worried I'll get a virus but I don't know any of these accounts mentioning me, it's probably just spam but I don't know if I should be reporting this or something

 

Edit: Just saw what it was without opening/downloading, a couple of these files are having a credit card image as the thumbnail and now I think it's something dangerous but these fishy files are not appearing on PC and only appear on the google drive app. Huh? And I don't know how to delete the files on the app, when I click the three vertical dots on the file there's no delete option at all. What to do?

I've been getting those for 2 weeks now and did some lite research on the issue.  And I mean lite research. Just ignore them and don't interact.  Dealing with granular security on "mentions" seemed a hassle at best...so I'm just going to follow the ignore method until Google locks it down.

I think I've also been getting these mentions since about 2-3 weeks, at first I didn't pay attention to it but then when I kept getting mentioned I got a bit scared lol. Yeah, I too was thinking ignoring it is best and that's what I'll do and wait for Google to crack down on them like you said. Thanks

I've been getting a lot of junk emails in the last 7-8 weeks, and I'm putting it down to a lot of people working from home. They're very clumsy attempts at getting me to click links and verify such-and-such, services in which I don't even have an account for. I have no doubt that my email has been sold or stolen in the last 5-6 months because I must be getting at least one attempt every other day when for a long time I received zero.

A very pertinent article haha. Should probably stop waiting for that epiphany and get off my ass and do some productive sh*t but for me it's easier said than done I guess...

You make your own epiphanies, much in the same way you breed luck by your own actions. Being lucky isn't necessarily about something pleasant happening with no input, but sometimes a coincidence can occur that benefits an experience. Things can just happen to you, both good and bad, but you'll find that you're more inclined to have better luck by doing the best you possibly can in a situation.

I once heard that, much like having more bait in the sea attracts more fish, having more stakes increases the possibility of being extremely lucky due to a higher probability of success.

 

Now I don't know if it only really ties to investments and stock markets but it's something that I try to think about everyday. If you're not going all-in like you would at a poker game you're getting a decreased chance of winning. 

 

And also, I don't play Poker, but the analogy still stands.

You guys may have just been speaking in general but it hit home for me. Thanks for the perspective, both of you. It's more inspiring than you may think. Guess I gotta try my best first and maybe i get lucky on the way (though admittedly I quit halfway more often than doing my best when I try some meaningful pursuit).

I get pretty annoyed when I explain something simply yet throughly, only for people not to understand.

 

Like, okay, last night I had my island on ACNH open for two hours, from 7 until 9 PM. I had a flair on my public post set to “Open” during the two hours, and changed it to “Closed” after the two hours were up. You can’t just contact me at 4AM to ask if my island is still open.

Sorry for the late reply been a painful few weeks since the last surgery.

 

Back in 2008 I had broken my ankle into like a billion pieces so they put a bunch of hardware in to fuse it together and for the last 12 years there have been no issues but then for some reason in December of 2019 a scab started forming along the incsion line but then would fall off after a week or two and when it;d fall off there'd be no puss holes or anytng just a clean scar so the doctors had no clue why it was doing it and the scabs kept forming and falling off like clockworth every 4-6 weeks but with each scab it kept getting thicker and thicker.

 

Then in june when the scab fell off I notice a hole in the inscion line and then a few days after it fell off I woke up with sharp burning pain in my foot/ankle with pus mixed with blood just pouring out so I went to an urgent care (a walk in clinic no appt needed) and they sent me to the hospital where I was put on IV antibiotics for 8 days by time I was discharge from the hospital my foot/ankle had gone back to a normal looking color the hole had all but closed and everything was looking good and a few follow up appts later with woundcare and the doctor said the infection was cleared up.

 

Apparently not while the scabs had stopped forming the hole opened back up and once again started draining pus and blood so I went back to the doctor and he decided to do an exploratory surgery because he had a feeling I had an infection within the bone and hardware itself and set the surgery for the following week, He took me into surgery opened up the original sight and said the hardware was just loaded with infection so he removed all of the infected hardware and cleaned all the infection from the bones but because of that he wouldn't close the wound and I had to have a wound-vac which f*cking sucked every time they had to change it on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays because it basically sucks all the air from around and inside your foot and basically squeezes your foot so if you don't take pain meds at least half hour before the nurse comes to change it you'll be crying like a baby when she's done.

 

I was only suppose to be in the hospital for 3 or 4 days but I ended up spending 9 days, around 2am the night after the surgery I started feeling sick as if I was going to throw up so I told the nurse so they gave me some medication which didn;t work and I ended up throwing up anyways so they tried a difference kind which didn't work either then all hell broke loose I started vomiting every 10-15 minutes for more than 24 hours and not just a little but filling up those vomit bags they give you it got to the point where they called the hospitalist to come and look at me and he sent me down to do a CT scan.

 

They did a CT scan and on the CT scan they saw what looked like to be a blockage in my stomach so they needed to put and NG Tube (a tube that goes in through your nose down into your stomach so they can pull/pump out the bad stuff) but because I had broken my nose as a kid they weren't able to get it through my nose with me awake and sitting up so they took me downstairs to do kill two birds with one stone, put in the NG tube and do a GI scope at the same time during the scope they had found an ulcer in my stomach and figure that is what had been causing my stomach issues after they told me that i told them that I had been have been having stomach issues over the last year and bouts of random vomiting that would last between a few hours to a few days.

 

The day after the NG tube was placed they did a barium study (they put radioactive dye in my NG tube to go into my stomach) and then moved me around on the table to get it to move throught my GI to confirm I actually had no bloackage they think the "blockage" they saw was actually my stomach contracting because i was vomiting so much

 

I was completely bedridden as I wasn't allowed to put any weight on my put at all and just getting to the bathroom was a chore in itself and it's only 10 feet away but because of my shouders I can't use regular crutches and it completely sucked even though I have my TV, Apple TV, Gaming Laptop and PS4 and sleeping and there is only so much you can do before you get sick of all of them and anybody who says they'd love it if they could spend 4 weeks in bed having someone at their beck and call 24/7 trust me it get really old FAST I personally like to do things for myself anyways and hate asking others to do things for me so it feels weird so if I did ask for something i'd make sure to ask for seveal things at once to avoid needing to call for them an hour later or something.

 

Just as I was healed from the first surgery and getting back to being able to walk without much support I was told it was time for the skin graft surgery this time everything went smoothly and nothing went wrong and I was only in the hospital overnight and the pain the recovery was only a few weeks, the donor site where they took the top two layers of skin from the top of my thigh actually hurt worse than the actual surgery site itself although it is a little tender to the touch and I still do have trouble walking still but at least now i'm out of bed and able to move about the house now as long as my body doesn't reject the graft I shouldn't need anymore surgery in the future at least not on my ankle.

 

My Neurosurgeron wants to do another surgery on my back but he's only giving me a 20/30/50 change - 20% chance it'll work - 30% chance it'll get worse  and 50% it'll stay the same so i'm in no hurry to get it done.

The great thing about today is that even if you can't visit various places in the world in person all you need is the internet or a TV connection and you can see a lot of what those places have to offer. 

 

Was just watching a video of a tourist exploring Interlaken, a Swiss town, and it's neighbouring villages and it was like I was myself travelling in those train and cable rides and personally taking in the view of the mountains, waterfalls, churches, green fields etc and shopping in the supermarkets and getting to know the townsfolk and things like that

 

As much as I sometimes wish for simpler times, today's age has a lot of amazing benefits. And Switzerland is beautiful.

download an app called unroll.me it connects to your e-mail and then you go through and tell it which e-mail is junk and which isn't and it help stop getting mass junk mail, I don't know how it works but ever since i used it most of the junk e-mails i had been getting have stopped
