Soooo I got one tooth fixed only for another one to follow. Ain't genetics great? Both of my parents' families have sh*tty teeth. I ain't getting this one fixed, at least its not like the last one which was basically ripped in half (the top that is obviously). Man Libyans can't do sh*t, the one that hurts me now was actually "fixed" some time along but apparently the dentist did a sh*t job at cleaning it from the inside and now it hurts despite being still very well covered. ffffs

Couldn't be any happier towards my youngest chil-...., I mean kitten. This little one got her leg stuck in one of our chairs outside in a very awkward position (chair's leg had a hole at the top and she somehow got her leg stuck from the hind there). I actually woke up to her crying. Though it was that poor kitten who's stuck with a f*cking degenerate crying for food so I went running outside with cat food in my hand until I started smelling something fishy. That's when I spotted her. I have no idea for how long she was stuck like this. Luckily for me my mom was with me outside.

Went through fire and fury to get her leg unstuck (her asshat of a mom was right there and she actually clawed my leg, poot kitten's weight kept pushing her own hind down furthering her "stuckness" add in the fact she's a feral IN PAIN so suffice to say it was a nightmare getting her off there) as we were only three counting my dad. Had to use a thick towel to be able to grab her without hurting as badly as her leg obviously hurt a lot. After what felt like forever we managed to get her free but because she was there for who knows how long she couldn't move her hurt leg (which was severely injured from the joint with another injury closer to the knee but not as bad) and just dragged herself. I was scared that she wouldn't be able to use her back leg anymore but she surprised both me and my mom as she not only have fully recovered but actually plays and run all over the place climbing any tree she sees. I f*cking love her.

Headsup: She's not the black kitten, that one is fine. Also, the pic is a little bit old as I don't have any proper image of her that isn't a blubbering mess thanks to both my shaky hand and sh*tty phone camera. You'd think that a phone that came out in 2017 (I think) would have a proper camera, instead of a potato-mess. *Le Facepalm*

Way back in 2015 lol

It's a bit too late to run for president right now imo unless he's running as an independent and even then no one is going to vote for him if he does he's going to take away votes from Biden.

So today I bought a new 2TB External HDD as my current one is dying. That one have stuff that goes all the way to 2013 if not any older. Several of my old pics are there. Several of them are either personal images with my family or old pics of cats that basically Ctrl-X'd from my phone. So I started moving the stuff from my old External HDD to the new one, and I have those set to Hidden because privacy of my family. Thing is, I totally forgot about that and had a panic about it, and after emptying the Folder that contained these I, like the pea-brained f*ckwad of an idiot that I am, proceeded to delete the now-"empty" folder because its "empty"..... it wasn't. The rest of the goods were set to Hidden and so ofc they weren't visible to me when I moved them to the new HDD. Now they're f*cking gone. Personal images of my family that goes all the way back to 2014 are gone. Images of my old cats (4 of which are gone who are still very close to me and I still mourn them heavily) are gone. Everything. Gone.

Been there, gone through that (Old HDD dying) except I didn't get any warning what so ever that my HDD was on the way out (Despite being 10 years old according to the MANF date). I was in the middle of class on break working from home, went and had a shower and then came back to class with my then computer running all slow, sometimes it would crash for whatever reason so I thought it was about to do that except this time this crash managed to kill my on board HDD for good. Luckily my computer at the time was acting up a month or two before hand and having had enough of it's crap I said to myself that if I can get back on, I'm backing up everything I can get my hands on. What I sadly forgot to backup was all my unuploaded steam screenshots, steam saves not backed up to the cloud, everything to do with Minecraft Java including screenshots and world and maybe losing a bit of class work but I recall managing to be able to save a majority of other stuff which I'm thankful I was able to back up.

Have you tried using recovery software to try and get the photos back? With a small bit of luck they may be able to be retained if you know exactly what your doing when going through the recovery software. It's something I'm sort of use to now since I deal with having to reformat SD cards because they want to act up and having to get the recently taken pictures I took back.

If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself and I know these are personal but if you are really desperate I'd say go for a walk down to a local computer store you trust if there is one around.

They're all f*cking useless. One is a r/AssholeDesign (need to pay for some bullsh*t Pro despite it nowhere being said to be a paid product) and the other one refused to even install.

Fair enough, it really is a needle in a haystack to even remotely finding a decent enough program that is going to have a chance of recovering your lost data, but if you still want a recommendation for recovering lost data then I'd recommend recuva as I've had mostly a solid success rate with recovering photos by using this software. It doesn't always work out through but it is the only decent free program I've found out there that is no bullsh*t, just gets me my lost data back. Unfortunately with all things technology there is a lot of factors that come into play that can determine whether you are successful in being able to recover data. Unfortunately I'm unable to tell you pretty much what these said factors are, I just know there are technological factors that determine whether the recovery is going to be successful or not, if the file has been overwritten for example the chance of getting that piece of data back in working condition is slim to none, you want it so the files are still in tact somewhere on the drive but haven't yet been over written in time by new data. The sooner you jump on the the recovery line before new data is written to the drive, the better it is to you recovering your data.

I'm not a recovery specialist or expert so take my post with a grain of salt and always consult with a local technician or computer store for more information.  I'm not responsible for any data loss or damage to your computer if you follow my advice.

Photos are pretty easy to recover without needing to do anything fancy. They have very recognizable headers, start at the beginning of the cluster, and are usually small enough to fall on continuous clusters. You can use the dd command under Linux to copy a partition into a file on another drive, then search for JPEG header ever 4096 bytes. It will take HOURS, but it will get every single JPEG on the drive, including deleted ones, so long as nothing else has been written over them yet. I was able to use this to recover photos from a raid array that had a bricked HDD on it and ended up with corruption in root record, effectively nuking the entire directory tree. If you haven't messed with that drive yet, these pictures are still there and very recoverable.

Prior to filing a bug against any of my code, please consider this response to common concerns.

Only exception to this is in the case of SSDs on newer OS versions, as garbage collection will have mullered anything unliked/soft deleted pretty quickly.

Whoever invented Win10 should be put to death. Drag whoever made/declared Win7 OuTdAtEd with him too while you're at it. Really? I can't manually shuffle or even change the speed of slideshows? What of the sh*t system sounds? How about how different the entire f*cking Settings system is? Back before I could easily fix any non-major issue with my eyes folded. Now I can't even fix the constant screen flickering whenever my laptop disconnects from the charger (I know the issue but thanks to the f*cktardery that is the Settings system I can't locate the stuff I need to change for it to be fixed). on't even get me f*cking started about how SLOW Win10 is. Win7 is faster than light. Changing any setting in Win10 takes f*cking forever. Hell even the Settings page is slow. EVERYTHING is slow. Oh, and the keyboard isn't connected. Great.

Man f*ck this guy. $225 down the drain. He did jack sh*t aside from cleaning the thing from the inside. Best part is when he went "Win7 iS nO mOrE sUpPoRtEd" even though half of y'all said it is (Sivispacem even suggested I buy a Win7 disc and install the thing on my own). Will definitely check my dad's friend who knows what he's doing. Oh, and the recovery program did jack sh*t. Sure it "restored" some of my stuff but none of them were "openable" (as if they were in an unknown format even though it clearly says .png and such in the header).

I'd do so but that wouldn't fix another issue (which was worse than the svchost problem): random shutoffs. Apparently this poor thing was full of dust and other sh*te from the inside and that's what was making it randomly turn off and/or become morbidly slow on top of the other problem. Even if I bought Win7 it STILL wouldn't fix that.

Not to engage in a pissing contest, but the only speeding ticket I have was $420 (Rounded up from $419.69, which is funnier?) 😛

I was disappointed that I didn't get a photo, because I was planning on using it on tinder.

It could have been a lot worse. I slammed on the brakes when I remembered the speed camera and managed to drop enough to get down to where I was at. If I had maintained my speed, the ticket would have been $939.

I had supervised this class of second graders during our Teacher's day celebrations six years back. Initially those children were causing quite the ruckus and refused to behave (few were even crying for some reason) but at the end they were in splits cause of the antics of my friend and I and they were well behaved and really sweet after that. Remains one of my fondest memories to this day.

I was thinking of that day and just came to the realization that today, those kids would be in freaking eighth grade, probably beginning to think about their future careers and stuff like that. It's an obvious fact but I'm dumbstruck right now, like for me second grade to eighth grade felt like an eternity of growing up and the last six years in comparison felt like barely any time passed, but in those years those children have now grown up so much! I should feel happy for them, and I do, but I'm also feeling a weird kind of sadness right now to be honest. I guess it's a bittersweet feeling, nice to know they're teenagers now but also somewhat scary(idk if that's the right word but anyway)

I know it's really unlikely but I kinda wish atleast a few of them still remember me. Highly unlikely since I remember almost nothing vivid of my second grade but it's still something I wish for all the same even if I can never know that.

I've realized a house not that far from me isn't a house at all but an electrical substation much like this one. This whole time I thought it had a secret tunnel that led to the white house.

I feel you, I'd eagerly await those 2 months, the first week of freedom especially would be nice as hell but before you know it, it's done

I guess what I was trying to get at with the point that you quoted was that the six years which passed by all feeling so samey and mundane for me and which I felt were nothing special, were years of huge growth for those kids, like when you're young six years feel like a big deal but when you're older they don't feel as big and you sorta lose perspective of time a bit, but then you have a moment where it hits you like for me when I realized those small kids I knew are entering teenage now and you think, whoa it's been that long!

Guess everybody has that moment where the passage of time really hits them, guess this sort of was mine lol.

Detective Phelps

The weather here is ridiculous. It's all hot one moment then it rains 10 minutes later. Alas, this was last week.

I miss driving my car, atm it has a SORN on it due to the quarantine, so I have to stay content with driving a similar car on the crew 2 (I only have that game because it was on PS plus a while back). The car is sweet, it has sensors and a reverse camera, far better than the 07 Megane I had before...
