I have very conflicting feelings about reddit, I use it daily, don't post anything just browse my subs and the popular tab, but my god the people. Every day the same tired jokes, same stale references, the hivemind is real and they all spew the same nonsence. It's amazing how many people all think the same way. I know every site has it's own culture but  reddit's seems to be pious degenerates who love to punch downwards.

 

But at the same time you get very well informed people talking sense, it can be a great resource of information for virtually anything, no matter how niche. I guess I'm just a bit burnt out, it's positives outweigh it's negatives, but not by much tbh. What got me today was the "cringetopia" subreddit. A picture of a guy with a fake facebook post above him which everyone fell for and proceeded to viciously bully him. I know there are assholes online but it's the sheer number of them that gets me, and how gullible they are, all the while wanking each other off thinking they are superior as they don't use emojis. Rant over.

Reddit is a horror show and the mob mentality especially when it comes to downvoting I’ve found that usually after a post get -2 people just start downvoting it because that’s what everyone else was doing even if the post wasn’t even remotely offensive.

 

But the arguments people get into on there especially those trying to defend Trump are quite entertaining.

 

I typically stay away from subs where arguments are likely to happen and stick to mostly cooking and picture and video subs of animals being funny/cute and people being stupid r/WinStupidPrizes.

 

Ive found a lot of awesome recipes of stuff you’d never think would go great together from others in the Cooking subs that turned out to be absolutely delicious

I'm about to use my sh*tty video game coding abilities to knock out some sort of sh*tty platformer.  All this covid lock down time...ya know.   Currently just taking care of some of the unfun basic framework stuff, so I have no real ideas at the moment.  Feel free to offer any up...within reason of course.  Currently setting up for parallax side scroller.

 

Also willing to turn this into a community project if folks want to.

I've been drinking some Emergen-C whether it works or not idk but I've gotten around to enjoying the taste. Don't drink too much of that though there's like 1,000 mg of Vitamin C in that sh*t which could be dangerous.

Reminds me when I sometimes took 2 Vitamin C pills a day as a kid just because of the taste. Why do they all taste so good?

On the phone it happens if you're using chrome. They want you to use the YouTube app.

You might want to try Youtube Vanced then. It is not on the appstore but it might fix these "fake issues" youtube forces on you.

So our power finally came back on yesterday afternoon as well as our cable and internet but for some reason I’m getting internet speeds of Dial Up at 0.68mbps

 

 

But funnily enough I’m getting faster speeds just using my LTE with around 7mbps but I only have so much data left the 15GB Verizon promised was never added to my account.

Oh, that explains a lot. I use Chrome on both my laptop and on my phone. But the weird part is that this doesn't happen on neither of my parents' phones, and they both have Chrome installed.

 

But why? FB also have its own app, and yet it rarely ever shoves it in my face. Messenger, sure (kinda, being unable to receive new-ish messages from other folks if they sent said message from Messenger), but even that was rare. And AFAIK (might be wrong), FB's app is older than YouTube's. wth, YT? I'd actually try their sh*tty app had it not been so confusing.

So I just got a phone call from my bank apparently someone just tried to buy a $32,000 worth of video and audio equipment using a credit card with a $125 limit.

 

I guess after his dreams of becoming a big Hollywood director were squashed he went to McDonald’s to eat his feelings but the bank had since locked the card.

 

I surely hope he got the sting of embarrassment of being told your card was declined for a $2 burger too bad he didn’t try and order out from an expensive steak house though.

 

I know how embarrassing that is as it happened to me once, My ex used the card to pay bills leaving like a $0.50 balance and forgot to tell me.

 

So the next afternoon I stopped at Taco Bell and ordered a couple tacos and a drink, Gave the girl my card when she tells me the card was declined.

 

I was still able to pay as I always keep a $20 stashed away under my drivers license for emergencies like this but still the embarrassment stung.

 

Nobkdy said anything or laughed but I could tell by the looks I was getting they were giggling to themselves m.

No one wants to help out with my stupid video game.    Screw ya'll...I'm making killer progress and taking great care.  Since my ultra stressful day job is on virus break, I'm finding it easier to sink into this code.

 

Quick background:  when I write a stupid game I do everything by hand and almost never reuse code.  It is a method I've been using for a billion years now to try and make myself a better programmer.  This might very well be the best scrolling platformer engine I've written.  No lie.  I'm taking great care and it is paying off.  Kinda rewarding I must say.  I even took crazy care to make the blocks head bumpable with a nice little animation (you know like mario bros.)  I'm even taking care with the level editor - something I usually hate writing and tend to half ass.

 

Since no one helps me I'm forced to use any assets I can find.  This game has a lot of randoness.  Ha.

The thing is that some folks think to themselves, "Oh, people who are sh*tfaced af suffer from slurred speech, so that must mean that they type/write like that, too." But the truth is that being under the influence of booze doesn't affect one's typing. At all. Well, at least it doesn't in my case. *shrug*
