I remember reading Jean Claude Van Damme was originally going to play the Predator but was dropped. Just checked imdb and the reason is below.

 

Jean-Claude Van Damme was originally cast to play the Predator the idea being that the physical action star would use his martial arts to make the Predator an agile, ninja-Raquel Hunter,but he was dropped for being too short, at 5'9", Arnold Schwarzenegger and his team are bodybuilders who are between 6'2" and 6'5". Additionally it was reported that Jean-Claude Van Damme constantly complained about the monster suit being too hot, causing him to pass out. He also had allegedly voiced his reservations on numerous occasions regarding the fact he would not be appearing on camera without the suit. Additionally the original design for the Predator was felt to be too cumbersome and difficult to manage in the jungle and, even with a more imposing actor was felt to not provoke enough fear. Van Damme was removed from the film and replaced by Kevin Peter Hall.

 

 

The remake isn't bad either, Adrien Brody was surprisingly good as a bad ass mercenary, the original is still the best though.

I don't think of it as a remake it, they tried to portray it as a sequel to the first predator, they even mention Dutch in that movie. but i would say that is the best one out of all the sequels.

I'd forgotten about that reference, yeah I'd agree with it being the best of the sequels. Although during watching it I kept thinging wtf is Eric Foreman doing there? He played his role well and all but I just associate him with that 70's show.

bloodsport is good and has great side characters like Chung Li and Ray Jackson , Kickoxer is the best though, how can you deny these dance moves

 

but his JCVD movie might be the best overall.

^ I cant deny those steps but Bloodsport had a more cult feel to it, and it was on every night at 2:00am back in the day. Plus it had Paco, my favorite fighter and he made it to the final four.

 

I can't post links but there is a blog ranking all the bloodsport fighters, haha it's a good read. Anyways Paco #2 ahead of Dux and behind Chong Li.
