That's the tooth.

My friends growing up told me I would never succeed at being a funny comedian. After reading that joke above, I only want to ask them; "whose laughing now?"

*knock knock*

Who's there?

Nobody.

I joined Reddit, I like it, there's a lot of subreddits that interest me with lots of discussion. I don't think I will post or comment much though, the layout of comments has it's benefits but i'm still used to the traditional forum style, do any of you use Reddit and any thoughts on it's layout?

It's kind of confusing to me... so much so that I really only go there when I absolutly have to. But it is a place where you can get answers to just about anything that is currently answerable, from sex positions to quantum physics.

Reddit is better.

It was kinda weird for me at first, but after getting used to it I started to prefer Reddits system over conventional layouts.

If you really insist on using a traditional layout you can always sort the comments on your preference.

I dislike the concept of karma as a measurement of the quality of a profile tho. The Problem are humans. People just downvote stuff they don't agree with and puns and funny comments are rewarded more than comments of actual substance.

Overall I really like the layout for general browsing, searching useful comments and wasting time.

From my experience I'd agree, it's great as a fun time waster, however I think when it comes to a topic with strongly varying opinions the downvote function can cause sort of an echo chamber effect, it can also be handy for downvoting sh1tposts too though so it's a double edged sword. After moving from whatever 9GAG became and going to Reddit some months ago, I can say Reddit's layout is way more compact, and I like it. I just don't like how some images link you straight to Imgur or Gfycat instead of the page with the comments and stuff. I also love how they give Subreddits lots of things to customize, like banners, backgrounds, orientation of stuff, etc.

Reddit is good but too impersonal. I prefer traditional forums in that regard.

Same here. I usually browse gaming related subreddits and don't post frequently.

My biggest issue with reddit is that it can get quite toxic. You're literally being downvoted for your opinions. Most people think downvotes are there for disagreeing with someone, instead of understanding someone else's viewpoint.

You're f*cked if you don't like the game everyone else enjoys and it all becomes one massive circlejerk with every big game release.

But if you post "(insert game title here) is the best game I've played in years", everyone will suck your dick.

Even if you make a constructive post why you don't like a game, people will sh*t on you. Horizon: Zero Dawn is the best example. Like it or f*ck off.

Posts that criticize a game are often much better to read than simple "I love this game" posts and don't deserve to be sh*t on for having a different opinion.

Reddit is seriously awesome for being host to all kinds of niche communities, whereas normally you'd have to sign up to each small inactive forum for the niche or join some random pokey IRC. Having one account that can be used for all kinds of stuff does wonders for that sort of thing. It's even better than tumblr for arty stuff because "commenting" on tumblr is abysmal.

That said, the larger subreddits fall victim to exactly what you think would happen when you bundle together large amounts of anonymous people, on easily creatable accounts, and where all the content is voted on. That part of reddit is amazingly terrible.

Another thing that I liked when I heard about it, but I didn't get a chance to experience it was Reddit's "April Fools" thingys, like one where you could press a button with a timer to reset the timer, or /r/Place. In other site(s) you'd be lucky if you saw an April Fools' dick pick.

I never really got the Reddit stereotype of a ''basement dweller nice guy tipping his fedora at the m'ladies'', I think the site is pretty cool. You can discuss your favorite books, music, games, tv series, movies with people who enjoy the same stuff you do, discuss current events in the world, etc. It's all in all pretty great. There's pretty much a subreddit for everything, so no matter how niche your interests are, chances are there are people who like the same thing you do.

Plus there's tons of NSFW material

I only use Facebook for news updates. Rarely do I ever watch (or even use) TV, so being informed on the net is better.

On Facebook sometimes i used to see profile pics of genitals (both sexes) while searching. And when it comes to chatting, sometimes some people don't answer for a long time or never when you need them most. That's why i rarely use FB, only for college and to congratulate for birthdays of my best friends...
