Youtube is the sh*tties place on the internet when it comes to the community. It's kinda sad. Instead of just enjoying the platform together and having meaningful discussions, it's a toxic, retarded and braincell-destructive place.

 

The creators of youtube just sleep on the money and are on 24/7 search for copyright claims, but someone threatens to kill other users? f*ck this who cares right?

 

Recently, AngryJoe went to "war" with his community because he wants to take a short vacation from videos that take him 200 hours of work and the retared part of the community started bandwagoning, insulting and threatening him, disliking his non-game review videos. It's a good example of how the community really is.

 

He's a game reviewer and I know a lot of people dislike him, but he's quite popular and I personally enjoy his work. It's worth watching if you're interested in the issue, whether you like him or not.

To be fair Joe has been slipping pretty bad for a few years now. The core team of AJ and other Joe is still fun to watch but whatshisface with a beard is pretty insufferable and the channel's terraforming in the wrong direction.

A big portion of Youtube users are kids, plus it's a very popular service most people have an account for. Summed up to the fact there are no moderators whatsoever things go crazy all the time. Not to say that unlike proper forums, people just interact through commenting which is very unorganized and so everyone feels like posting whatever they want, being relevant or not. Finally, Youtube is one of the popular internet places where it's more noticeable the feeling of anonymity and so everyone can release their inner mean behavior towards others.

 

Some Youtubers such as Varg Vikernes (Thulian Perspective) are active moderating the comments on their content and delete lower quality posts, but that's more the exception rather than the norm.

It just seems so, but it's not true. He doesn't make less angry game review videos and he proves his count of reviews never dropped. He simply does more of these movie reviews so he can deliver more content quicker while still working on game reviews exactly like he used to.

 

Because of that a lot of people think he doesn't do game reviews anymore and simply switched to some movie sh*t which I'm not a huge fan of, but it's his channel and as long as he still reviews games (which he definetly does), it's fine by me.

 

Because the whole thing backfired at him, he should create a seperate movie channel and the problem is solved.

 

Although I do wish he'd review more sh*tty games again too, those are funny as hell. Sonic free riders and Ride to Hell are his top reviews. The only wacky reviews he did this year were for some indie games (ghostbusters and power rangers). Andromeda is my favorite review of this year so far.

I don't really get why people complain about Joe. I do agree that lately he has done less reviews but no one can say that he has turned into a lazy idiot. He brought us E3 videos, live streams (which I personally don't like but still), movie reviews, series reviews...

And let's be honest: what could he actually review at the moment? As far as I can tell no "interesting" videogames have been released between June-July (and by interesting I mean AAA games). Everybody was focused on the E3 and all the news that were leaked

So what did Joe do? He brought us content about the E3 and afterwards some movie/series reviews. I can understand why he did it and I respect that

 

As long as his reviews will keep on being of high quality I won't complain. The Yakuza review was hilarious, the Mass Effect review was honest and funny, the Umbrella Corp. review was pretty much the new verson of Rambo: The Videogame

 

Besides, no other reviewer does things like this:

Telling someone that you're going to kill them and their family over the internet can and should have repercussions against the person that says those kinds of things. Even if you say those kinds of things and aren't serious by it, it should be taken quite seriously. We live in an age where people losers, whom really do want to do harm towards others, will use the internet to either acted out alone or meet like-minded people and organize violence against other individuals. It's such an easy tool for them to use and they take full advantage of that.

 

I know that if I was a celebrity, or a large YouTuber, I would take any death threats seriously and report those individuals to the appropriate authorities. Clearly those individuals aren't right in the head and are in need of some form of help.

I know that if I was a celebrity, or a large YouTuber, I would take any death threats seriously and report those individuals to the appropriate authorities. Clearly those individuals aren't right in the head and are in need of some form of help.
