I think this semester at uni has been my favourite thus far. Between cultural studies and games design I'm having a blast. Especially with games design. For the last few tutorials all we've done is game jam creating board games lol. It feels like we're just messing around even though we're really not. It's actually quite amazing how much in common the mechanics of a board game have with video games even though you would never think so.

 

My next assignment requires me to make a game document 25 pages long, 4500 words on a game design I have come up with (I've already presented my pitch in class. Got a cool grade). It'll be a lot of work, but I'm looking forward to it.

It's interesting to see that other universities teach Game Design like mine does. This past semester we did something similar with board games. And last semster we had to write a design document for our game as well. It can be quite fun writing down and fleshing out your ideas on paper.

 

I like my program (which is Game Design), just not alot of the people in it (I won't dwell on it). I don't think I've mentioned it here in the forums that I went to university for Game Design (probably because I lurk more often than I post). But I like how my program has changed my perspective on games. I'm much more critical towards games I like.

I was working at a restaurant once as a intern and every day we are at least twice together with the owner to eat. We used to just eat simple Asian meals like rice, soup, and once crab salad, which I absolutely disliked. But I was eating there once with the employees and apparently I ate duck once with them. I can't remember how it tastes but it felt really weird eating a duck.

I've just woke up from an over 11hr+ sleep, and heck, I feel like sh*t.

My back is aching, I feel rather heavy headed, and dehydrated af. I usually only need 4/5hrs of sleep, and I'm good, and I get off with that pretty much all nights, so yeah, somehow ended up sleeping through most of the day.

Woke up to find my phone charger has broken too, and my phone is dead (bloody wonderful)

So yeah, my day has been short, and uh... productive

Yes, unfortunately this happens a lot and I wish it didn't happen at all. We also have a similar issue here with the media because when a Dutch citizen commits a crime, they only write about the gender of the criminal, where the person is from and when a Dutch citizen with a migration background commits a crime, they always bring up that it was a person with a migration background or that the person is Morrocan or Turkish, or any other nationality. It doesn't make any sense why the nationality of the person committing the crime is relevant at all.

Just to be "fair", it was the local airport police who f*cked that poor guy up.

 

On the orders of the airport so they could give this dude's seat(that he paid for) to an employee who didn't have a ticket.
