I live just under 800 meters from a somewhat reasonable sized shopping center, all shopping centers have a kebab store (right?) and they've started selling Halal Snack Packs.

What a time to be alive.

Why are HSP such a crase in Australia?There's an absurd conspiracy theory here started by an ultra conservative politician and other conservative pollies sheepishly went with it and he said something along the lines of halal is a tax and that tax funds terrorism. The majority of Australians responded by embracing halal food, like the kebab and HSP. The HSP craze is getting bigger and more and more kebab stores are getting authorisations to sell the styrofoam plate of food.

 

In short, he started an anti halal crusade/truther movement and it backfired.

Is season 5 of Aqua Teen Hunger Force supposed to be intentionally bad?

 

I'm getting tired of seeing the exact same three tropes pop up in most episodes: extremely gruesome deaths for Carl and Shake, Carl's desperate loneliness constantly being exposed, and the entire ATHF trio being dicks to Carl for no reason.

 

Should I skip season 5 as a whole or forget about this show? I hate flanderization in animation.

The problem with ATHF is they pushed it too far and it got generic....

 

Have you tried Venture Brothers? That was the last big success, but you have to start from the beginning as there is a similar underlying plot, as it is with Rick And Morty.

I think Hanson popularised the HSP (never, ever heard that term prior to the recent election), but it is definitely not something that was uncommon - I would say every kebab shop had them from day one.

 

Another issue here is that Hanson herself isn't exactly "ultra conservative". She may not present herself well, and her lack of formal tertiary education is stunningly obvious - but I get the feeling that she is an easy target - someone that other politicians can insult in order to prop themselves up and pretend that they are conscious of important issues.

 

I also must state - there ARE issues with terror funding in Australia. The owners of a child care chain, of all things, were recently linked to terror funding. There are numerous individuals making absurd and legitimately disgraceful comments toward many groups in Australia.

 

I have no problem with casual Islam, just like I have no problem with other casual faithful - but there are several prominent individuals, within Islam, who make horrendous claims regarding women, homosexuals and so on - but for some reason, we all turn a blind eye.

 

In short - she is not "ultra conservative", but she does engage with debate that other politicians are too careful to dabble with. I also want to reiterate that I am not a Hanson supporter, nor a Labor, nor a Liberal. In my book, anyone should be able to do/think/believe in whatever they wish, so long as that does not interfere with another individuals ability to do the same.

 

Snack packs are probably the best meal known to mankind.

in phoenix they make everyone wear pink underwear and i think some jails make you sleep outside and they feed you some weird sh*t.

In the US incarceration serves more of a punitive function than rehabilitation.

 

Punitive and often profit-focused. Rehabilitation is actually counter productive for the institutions as a high rate of recidivism guarantees more future income.

Well, though i am also for punishment, it seems in fact if the efford is more going towards reintegration, there are less people falling back into bad old habbits and being a pain in the ass of society i thought.

 

The only cases in which such things do not work is when talking about people who are pretty much psychopathic.

Honestly can't see how 'demeaning' deadbeats by making them wear pink clothing will accomplish anything, given their fellow inmates are wearing the same clothing. A strange policy, so it is.

 

Watching this docu, it's mad that some bellend charged with a DUI can be thrown in with a bunch of wasters and violent parasites. The US penal system is f*cked up, yes it is. Especially in Florida, apparently.

Around here it is an inexpensive minor ticket. The fine for smoking a cigarette in a public area where you are not allowed to smoke is way more than possession of up 32 grams.
