Wasn't the Railgun patched so no one would use it in GTA Online?

Wait until someone shoots mount chiliads at you with their minigun.

Woah, how do you shoot a whole mountain? I wanna see that, i dont believe it

A modder will figure it out eventually. They won't see it.

Not possible, since a mountain is made up of SEVERAL meshes.

Yeah, there was a bug in the capture creator that allowed you to give NPC actors a Railgun. Then pick it up after killing them when actually playing it. Was completely removed. There are still jobs out there where ncp's are holding Railguns, but you can't pick them up.

Shame its only available during Beast vs Slasher.

PC gaming GTAO is ass. Looks good, but it's an open world to modders.

Fixed that for you. This is a GTA-specific problem. I've played no other game that the devs allow cheaters to get so much power and not do anything about it.

yet here you are...

I haven't played in public lobbies for months. I have friends and crews to play private sessions with.

This. Before GTAO, I was playing APB reloaded a lot. It has a reputation for cheating, and as a F2P game, banned players can preroll very quickly and easily. But as far as the extent of cheating went? Most of it was wall hacks or aimbotting, both of which barely even qualify in a game with a full aim assist mode, and where players are usually on radar at all times (and in those modes where they are not, you can call Lester over and over for reveal players). None of the cheats was anywhere as able to be disruptive as most of the GTAO cheats can be. People will probably try to cheat in most online PC games, but this game lets people do far more with their cheats than most.

This is common knowledge.

It is? Funny, I've been around since day one and I've never heard of it online. I feel so uninformed. Also, GTAO could use a strip club. Wait... there's already one? <sigh>

Yep there is modding on PC... Good luck finding a session without some loser modder ruining it.... I quit playing on PC after one of those modding losers decided it would be funny to blow up everyone in the session.

Rockstar and their lack of action has allowed it to get fully out of control.

Hur dur omg,you don't have friends?just play in a f*cking invite only session and you will be fine, same thing with jobs or heists,if you don't want someone trolling or messing with you, play with friends.

Its clearly not the same as a good old fashioned run and gun. Hur dur omg.

with a mod menu you can unlock all weapons which includes the railgun. You can even give other players all the weapons which fills their Molotov ammo & fireworks etc. Once they switch sessions they lose the weapons, no big deal IMO.

R* can't patch the mod menus on PC because a new mod menu releases after every patch that fixes anything. Might as well just ban the players that use the menus online... But even then there are ways to get around that. The game is simply unsecure on PC as long as we host servers ourselves.

It was possible on next gen to bring railgun and tazer via modded activities

It was not possible to save it but u kept it in the session.

Those modded activities are quickly patched but maybe the guys founded one

Mods expand gameplay through additional scripts / code ("Modification")

Mod menus allow you to easily access the existing content

Mod menus are normally made to facilitate the use of mods, that is normally their intended purpose. They do not modify the game in any way, they simply exploit the existing code to give you access to run existing scripts & code.

Please do me a huge favor & use the terms properly. No mods are involved in using a railgun, the railgun is already part of the game.

You're clearly just a troll with no technical know-how of how the game works. Let me break down the process of object tossing, I'll be sure to use small words for you.

  1. You have to choose the weapon that'll launch an object. To prevent fast-crashing, it's best to use something slow, like a pump shotgun or the revolver.
  2. When the gun is fired, the object goes with the supposed bullet that leaves the gun.
  3. There isn't a way to connect multiple meshes on the fly without a file specifically made to piece them together - so you can only shoot only one mesh at a time.

The mountains are made up of multiple meshes, not on giant one, for the sake of saving memory. Objects that are farther away enter LOD (level of detail) mode, which using a lower quality texture (aka a mip map at some distance, and a texture of it's own at farthest distances).

Now, to connect these multiple objects, we must place them in specific XYZ coordinates on the map. The files that control this are *map files (ymap on PC). They identify where objects are placed, their rotation, and some other neat stuff. However, they are only used to determine what is spawned where, so that is the only thing they can be possibly used for.

Now please, do explain to me in detail how I'm wrong. Git gud.

You playing on either PC or last gen?

Most likely someone modding and trolling people

PC version. Can GTA online be modded?

No, well yes, but only the modder can see the mods.

Cheats are a pretty common thing though.

Calling cheaters "modders" is one of the main reasons why R* won't do much about it.
