hover mode does not indicate a noob

people seem to think that a hydra in vtol mode is some noob who can't figure out how to fly streight.

ok, 90% of the time you're correct.

Just like a Hydra in hover mode, your argument was quickly shot down...by yourself? That's interesting.

You seem like the type of guy that says, "people seem to think that clowns are scary. Ok, 90% of the time you're correct." or "people seem to think that giraffes have sore necks. Ok, 90% of the time you're correct."

Please make this a meme, GtaF. This is gold.

lol wat.

When 90% of people are sh*tty at something, and only 10% are good at it, of course the general perception would be that anyone doing so is a noob. At least upon first glance. Just like how if 90% of people actually thought that clowns were scary, and only 10% did not, the general perception would be that they in fact are. Because the vast majority would think so.

If I gave you a sandwich that was 90% ham, and 10% sh*t, would you be willing to consider that a ham sandwich?

Ok, well it's not a noob move, it's a move often done by noobs?

Also, bad analogy, I'd consider it f*cking spoiled and kick you in the nuts or sh*tting in my sandwich.

No Homing

And yet another thread that has turned into a pointless discussion on the first page.

I kill people a lot in VTOL mode. My trick is catching people off guard. Most of the times people can't even get a full lock before dying.

I killed a hovering hydra once with a sticky bomb from my car.

Don't hover.

pfft hovering just means you're an easy kill for the HL...don't even need a lock on.

Don't hover.

must have been one of the 90%

it is highly situational

But it wouldn't have happened if he had been flying. It's is own fault no matter how unlikely.

If you get killed, saying "That wouldn't happen again!" isn't much consolation.

I have a little chuckle whenever I see a pilot hovering in freemode. I feel like they're asking me to ream them

I chuckle less when they're behind my Insurgent. :panic:

So much for understanding the joke I was making and turning it into some weird ham-sh*t sandwich that no one wants.

Nice! But I actually misswrote that. I meant where you are going down then switch to hover mode, then pick someone off and go back to normal mode and fly off. My bad, sorry.

I figured some visual proof could help to prove this thread's truthfulness.

It might be a little bit messy, and a bit late, but here's what (I think) you wanted to see:

Sorry, that's not it. Maybe I got it wrong, and it's not done with hover mode, but it looks like so. I should try to look it up.

^Lol no worries. There are so many different things you can do with the Hydra, it's easy to get them mixed up.

I got it. This is what I meant, at 2:32 in this video:

Although, I do recall having seen a better example, but nonetheless, I think it looks pretty cool.

Oh I see now. Yeah I don't think I've had one like that before, but it looks similar to that thing I posted where I kind of turned in the air, so I think I could do it.

It looks great too. Next time I'm in a Hydra I'll try get it if I can remember.

*hear.

And I can just take the easy way out once I hear the beeps, so the player won't obtain the kill nor will I be engulfed in flames; it only takes two seconds.

It's a lot harder than it looks. Here's a botched version for now, though it might be some time before a proper one's done lol:

I use the hover mode all the time. It's great for standing guard or waiting out another player.

It's also great for quickly, but effectively, ducking behind a building and breaking a homing lock.

My new favorite thing to do is dock a Hydra on my yacht (just posted this, elsewhere), and others start flying near, I attack and laugh as they scream in their mics and cry to their stay-at-home daddy, "that guy on the yacht is cheating – he got a Hydra on his yacht!"

Is there anything more fun than listening to noob bb's scream and cry on GTAO?

To me, the Hydra itself just indicates noob tbh.

What legit player can afford to waste $3m on that POS when the superior Lazer is free? The slight bit of convenience you get from having it on call is not worth $3m either.

I don't think I've ever even flown one outside of the related heist set-up.

A good player doesn't always need the tools that are easiest to use.

That's a bit like calling someone a noob if they don't just spam RPGs all the time, since RPGs are more powerful than rifles, etc.

Some more hover mode in a dogfight. This was much more sloppy, and not that well done, but my jet had been badly damaged by snipers, and I probably couldn't have won without giving it a go:
