Nothing beats an old fashion CRT screen....

Sad part is...they actually make HDMI to RCA converters..

I alternate between my TV and monitor, and I prefer the monitor. Maybe because my monitor is of a lot higher quality than my TV? I play on a 23" Acer H236HL and it's much better than my 32' Apex TV

Nothing beats playing the game with a controller at your hand while chilling in your bed.

I'd say getting a blowjob while playing the game beats that, but to each their own

How do you play with your eyes closed? stop sucking that hard.

haha i make a pun!

sorry I had to :)

I had several players in free roam (PS4) discussing tv brands/size and one player swore by gaming on a monitor. He said it makes it better up close because you can see everything without moving your eyes/head like when you play on a big tv?

Currently I play on a 55 inch. I sit pretty close it helps sniping, for me anyway.

Anyone try both? Thoughts?

I've played on both. They're right. It does help a lot not having to move your head when playing competitive modes. I can just look into the center of my 22 inch widescreen monitor and notice the smallest of changes near the corner of my screen. With a big TV it's more harder to do that and you have to be constantly scanning areas of the TV to notice small changes.

I have always played on a small TV, on the desk, right next to my computer monitor, and about the same size, so the screen does not take up a big field of view. I've seen people including myself, get seasick playing too close to a big screen. Also, as people have said above, it might be wonderfully immersive to fill your visual field with the game screen, but I think it would be bad for competition, because too much blind area that you have to move your eyes to see. You're dead by the time you look over to see an enemy.

It depends on several factors. Eyesight, platform, hardware.

IMHO any combination which allows for 1080 HD and helps the player be accurate is ideal. But believe it or not there is a point of diminishing returns. Having played fps games on a cinema screen you can have too much going on visually.

That said I play on 70" wall mounted flat screen over my console. I noticed a difference going from 55" to 70" but it wasnt drastic. Going smaller will DEFINITELY make things disappear at certain ratios.

Good luck!

I have my PS3 hooked up to my 27" pro graphics display. So I have a kind of a PC/console hybrid. Just select the right input and pick up the right controller based on which system I'm gonna use. Most importantly the image quality is great - it would take a pretty kickass TV to provide something comparable. When I want to chill, I can just move my chair farther and recline. Or I can turn the display to face my bed. Now I could use a bigger display, but a generic TV doesn't cut it.

A projector is an interesting alternative to a TV - I considered getting one some time ago but it comes with its own set of problems. It wouldn't work well for me since I get too much stray light.

Got my PS4 connected to my 24" pc monitor, I prefer sitting at a desk when playing things, though sometimes when I just want to sit back and chill I hook it up to my tv

We had a similar setup at home. We used a projector with an old school drop screen in the place of the living room window. Drop the screen and unless its bright youre good to go. Eventually got a great deal on a flat screen and switched. Its a fun change of pace to size the screen at your preference (considerinv your wall space). Id recommend it if the right opportunity came along. Edited by P4DR0N3

72" of triple monitor goodness right up close and personal but i play on PC so i dont have too much of a choice.... I think the monitors are better because of their compactness, high resolution and rapid response times bc those things are essential in some dimented universe

I play between 2 tvs, a 32" and a 42" and no real difference between them, 32" does have a slightly crisper picture though.

I play on a 108" (nine foot) projector screen in the man cave in my basement. 1080p DLP projector connected to a central receiver via HMDI. One thousand watt surround sound system, definitely no complaints from me about not being able to see anything. Flying in first person looks amazing. I've got my couch about ten feet from the screen, it completely fills my field of vision without having to turn my head.

It works pretty good :)

I also use a projector and on warm summer nights I take it outside and project the play on a large white wall on my property , great to see Los Santos in landscape thirty feet across .

If you dropped the controller in the bath you could frazzle your vitals .

I rather get a blowjob in bed then when gaming.

I dont like to be distracted when gaming

I tried using a Monitor for GTA V, but he wouldn't shut up, and kept trying to team kill me...
