With a controller if you can hit the target easily don't bother targeting it just aim at it by lightly holding the trigger (R2) then fire. You'll see where you're aiming just by lightly holding the fire button. Not as cheap as RPG shots though but maybe you can't buy that yet.

I would rather snipe the tail rotors off than use the HL. It's funny to see NPCs spin off in circles. It's even funnier to see other players think that they got away, then see them confused as they see their rotor pop off.

lol yea same, that or just killing the pilot and watching the gunners fire & swear at me on their way down, sometimes they jump out and actually survive

Like said already...if helocopters come straight at you and are close enough they can be hard to hit
