Flashback, which updates/content did you appreciate the most. List you

After seeing all the (justified) bitching about GTA Online and the poor incoming of the last few weeks/months and the silence of Rockstar about the future of GTA I would like to have a flashback about the stuff we got till yet. I am curious about the content you really appreciated and still appreciate. The highlights you have been waiting for and things that surprised you.

Well I guess for me the good things were the game in the first place GTA Online and V are really open and I love the freedom of being able to just

drive about and generally admire the world.

 

The content I have appreciated the most was Valentines Day DLC, Independance Day specifically the beer hats that were offered on that event weekend

and the frustrations trying to get them.

 

Snow was another great event for Xmas along with giving present under the tree, very original idea.

 

Of course Heists are the most memorable update along with Halloween and Executives and Other Thugs.

 

All added things which appealed to me as a gamer because the content had things I like in real life along with all the various cars that have been added

that I'd like to own but don't have enough room for but perhaps most importantly is that I made so many gaming friends through this game and without that

I doubt it'd have lasted beyond story mode.

Heists were incredibly fun with 3 friends.

 

Other than that.. meh.

VIP mode in the 'Executives and Other Criminals' update.

 

This changed the dynamic of GTA online and allowed people to remain in freemode (with their friends and enemies) and still make money by combining various strategies.

Although I rarely stay there, I liked the update with the Yachts (Executive and other criminals)... Now that I'm VIP'ing more and my second character has her own Yacht I tend to use them (and their vehicules) more... That update was nice. What would be even nicer, if we were able to steer it around Los Santos ocean...

 

 

Like some already said in here... I love all updates (and cars!!!!) as they bring fresh things to t he table... But wrt Adversary modes, the table is completely full (over here)... ;-)

I've had the most fun with the content that came with Heists and Executives. I think those are the "Big Two" that we've received as far as updates are concerned.

 

The content in the Halloween Surprise was really good as well. I've spent countless hours playing Slasher.

Well Heists was probably the most significant update for me. They were good fun, and they brought some of my favourite types of vehicles.

 

Now I tend to be more of a lone wolf though, so I don't do them much. Also, after the shine of the new helicopters wore off, it's still clear that their situation is still pretty grim (and there are shortcomings with the helicopters themselves, such as armour, etc.).

 

I did like the Besra too; really fun jet. I'm also glad they rereleased the Roosevelt, for those that didn't get it the first time round.

 

As for highlights I'm waiting for, I'd say a new attack heli, finally more contact missions, and give the ladies of GTA some love by giving them more clothing/customization options. There is the legendary map expansion/TBOGT style dlc, but that will probably never come.

E&OC, Heists, High Life and the Festive updates were my favorites. Don't really have a "least" favorite though.

 

Independence day update I believe is the one that gave us purchasable properties in Paleto Bay, so I loved that too lol.

Yeah there are a lot of things that got me hyped back then. I will list a few for the moment (as I am "working")

I really was looking forward to the Tampa. It´s a such a nice looking car, I am surprised I don´t see them a lot on the streets of LS.

The low rider update had a lot of potential that unfortunately has not been used fully and did go into wrong direction (just my opinion). Still some great additions. I liked the Faction and the Slamvan most.

The Sultan RS was very needed as the Sultan as Sedan was boring.

Tuners, E&oC, and Heists. In that order too, love my rs and 900r more than any other supers, and VIP is never ending fun if done in full lobbies.

I'd say either Heists, or IGG, or E&OC. Close behind would be the first Lowriders Update and the Christmas ones too.

I'd say The Hipster update was my favourite. It added some cool cars and some decent clothing along with few nice haircuts.

The Lowrider would be in 2nd and VIP in 3rd

The release of PS4/XBONE/PC GTA V. It really opened the door for what GTA Online was truely capable of achieving, bringing monsterous updates like Lowriders, Executives, and the Freemode Events. So basically, all updates after Current Gen GTA was released are my favorites, except the recent obvious rush of Adversary Modes.

Free roam events. Finally I can make money in free roam, whilst mostly doing whatever I was already doing before. Plus, it's nice to have some specific data about certain things, like longest jump or fastest speed etc..

Ill gotten gains. The last "big" update that brought awsome NEW cars from different genres that didn't rely On a upgrade treatment. E&OC was Also good but the yacht was the highpoint of that instead of the cars.

In order of chronology...

 

High Life Update Part 1 - four new vehicles each in their own class, new weapon, clothes and other wearables, new missions, and I think it's the first update which allowed an extra apartment/ garage to be purchased - and this update included new apartments.

Then it'd be Heists, and finally the Exec & Other Criminals update, both for providing quite a lot of new content.

Weasel News update

Lamar Davis, a Los Santos resident with links to organized crime was found dead in his bathroom today, with what appears to be a self-inflicted gun shot to the head. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the CLSMC early this morning. His funeral will take place this Saturday and is open to the public, the family has request donations of warm urine and stated that flowers will be disposed of at the chapels entrance.

The police commissioner said he expects zero people will attend the service and officers will be securing the area to deter his family and any other citizens from urinating on his grave.

Hipster was the first one that really just hit every high point it could; it changed the dynamic of FR and I still find some of the cars to be long term favourites.

 

Freemode was a valid attempt to make free roam more interesting. A great idea, but too late in release to change the FR sh*tshow.

 

VIP was another step forward into making FR something interesting with a whole new dynamic. Had more effect than the FR update.

 

Heists was long awaited, and provided a clear path forward for integrating SP style campaigns with GTAO.

On the other end, Flight School was an interesting idea, but turned out to be DOA. LTS was so lackluster I couldn't even tell you anything that happened other than ruining DMs with helmets and making 90% of the people who play this game dress up like they're going out to play paintball.
