I voted for god mode (duh), wall breaching (easily avoidable but still cheating), and invisible outfits. Maybe if you're entirely auto-aim inside lock-on range invisible isn't as much of an advantage, but it's a serious edge in free-aim; fortunately I don't encounter it much. Modded accounts (assuming money/rank/stats modification) is cheating yes, but as on its own it doesn't give someone an edge over me in a competitive or PvP situation, it's far below the other three. Anything else in there is at most misuse of a legit option, and really only abusable in free-roam anyways, where you can make up whatever rules you like as to who 'wins'. People will play cheap in free-roam one way or another, you just avoid those who aren't playing by rules you respect as much as you can.

I voted God Mode, Wall Breach, Invisible Body Outfits and Modded accounts as cheating. The others may be cheap but I don't think it's cheating.

 

Edit: I don't even understand why some are on that list.

Jet griefing is cheating? lol

i didn't say, think, or vote for this.

just because i provide some answers for the poll doesn't mean that all of these would be my opinion.

i even mentioned in one of my posts in here that i don't consider jet griefing or over using certain weapons as cheating.

i just tried to list some issues which about people liked to hate/bitch in several threads of this forum to provide a variety of answers which could be in context to cheating in someones opinion/interpretation.

 

 

There's actual cheating; doing something you're not supposed to be able to do.

 

Then there's the perception of being cheated; something that you consider unfair that is denying you 'something'.

 

I do feel cheated when someone uses EWO in a fight when I know I would have got the kill and when someone abuses passive mode, but it's not technically cheating. The only defence against players who do these things is to not play against them. As soon as a player starts using EWO in combat that's not related to cops I leave them to it and move on. It's the same with passive mode abusers. I have used passive mode to annoy other players who are being dicks, but not jumping in and out to try and get a 'cheap' kill.

 

The use of certain weapons has no place in your poll OP, though I can understand why you put some of them there. I always have a little 'Sigh' moment when I come up against a Marksman Shuffler, but they aren't doing anything wrong so I just put my pride in my pocket and play them at their own game.

i know that about the weapons in the poll.

as i explained above in my answer to the post of "marksman god" that i don't consider all of those answers as cheating myself.

it was just some quick ideas of usually hated tactics to provide a bigger variety of choices to vote from.

but i do agree to the rest of your post.

Several times you have been told that things included in your poll or post don't belong. Instead of saying nothing or accepting that you were wrong you got defensive and argued for why.

 

It doesn't matter. Its like you gave us a list of doctors best suited for brain surgery. Later you find out several of the names are Veterinarians. Yes they learned medicine, but I wouldn't let them perform surgery on me.

 

Same deal here. It doesn't matter that "some people" think its cheating. Some people thought the Earth was flat. Do we teach that now?

 

Ethics and moral behavior is culturally specific. So just because one group interpret actions in a certain way, another might not. The ancient Aztecs thought human sacrifice was an honor and would be horrified at our culture. Neither group is wrong from their perspective. But when archaeologists sift through our fossils will our opinions impact their findings? The answer is no.

 

Lastly, not all of my previous comments were directed at Size M. Several times posters have made claims that blatantly state a specific advantage (ie. Invisibility makes someone harder to hit). Maybe for that person it is more challenging, but they gained NO armor, so the statement IS FALSE. Claiming otherwise only perpetuates bad information.

 

So TLDR, you asked for it. being smarter than you is not insulting. I even said it was an interesting question. But... you need to correct for error and not take it so personally when you have been corrected.

Personally I like to have and even playing field, such as using basic weapons against low levels who try to attack me, or not using BP helmets. Of course this is not realistic as so many people think having a huge advantage over someone else means that they're good. So in relation to the poll question, while these things for the most part really can't be considered cheating, when I see someone resort to these tactics against me because they can't win on an even playing field, I just see it as cowardly. It's even worse for them when they fail at using their so called "tactics".

does a modded account include players that use a mod menu or just stuff like outfits & boatloads of cash?

IMO the mod menu users are the biggest cheaters, they have pretty much all the options in the poll available at the click of a button, but if mod menus aren't a part of modded accounts then I couldn't care less how players modded their own clothes or vehicles... In fact, it's fun to play with them since they have a somewhat unique look.

If a modded account had only a modded rank and modded money, how would that be cheating?

Invisible outfits too....Lets be honest every time I see a player wearing a full on invisible outift (excluding the head), they are scared of being seen and shot at especially by a sniper rifle

 

Modded accounts, well if its only money modded or rp into that account that's fine but anything else like combat rolling or unlimited ammo is BS

Using missles against players on foot is acceptable under certain circumstances such as when the opponent is hiding against a wall but using it 24/7 without any other gun follows the same thing I said below.

 

The rest make you look like a P*ssy but technically not a cheater
