Why does it seem like there's no player base for the LTS game mode

the lts have a sub-genre that is more popular, "X vs Y" type of lts

Because GTA has bad matchmaking. Basically, the system that's meant to put players together just doesn't work very well on this game.

 

There are probably a fair few people starting LTS's ... and being left waiting in empty lobbies. It's more a problem with the game/Rockstar's matchmaking.

If you are searching with Created Content Off, you won't find many LTS.

 

Turn it on and you will be placed in full or near full lobbies of RPG vs X or Runners vs X

Players moved onto Adversary Modes for a short while after Slasher and Beast came out, deserting LTS when they did it.

 

It's very rare I come across an LTS that isn't SvS or RvI anymore. Luckily I bookmarked them when they were still being played a lot.

 

LTS's prime time was back in the LTS update, after, they slowly started to die out.

 

The problem is, nobody plays those Adv modes either now when they're not being promoted a double RP and cash.

in fact all game modes are more fun with friends or other players, it is a multiplayer game after all

It's also my favourite game mode. I love the planning that goes into staying alive and using actual tactics with your team to flush out the campers and the like. Nobody plays it anymore unless it's some goofy created map with big ramps and rocket launchers.

LTS can be a great game mode, especially with owned weapons turned off. So many people just resort to rocket-spamming others in this game so it's a nice change when you can enjoy a rolling battle across rooftops and alleyways where picking your ground, conserving ammo and making use of cover really determines who will be the last person alive. Really changes the pace.

 

As a game mode LTS seems to have been largely killed off with most players flocking to the Rockets Vs Insurgents / Snipers Vs Stunters style maps though. I've played a few and they're so boring, and the host usually sets the rounds won to 6 or higher, with 30 mins per round (for 'max $$$$'). Typical user generated garbage.

Lots of hate for user created lts, I wonder why? I find them to be great fun. Good lobbies net you lots of money too, easy 10k and up per winning round. Lots more fun than grinding missions or heists in my opinion. I play them regularly.

love X VS Y styled LTS. way more fun then the rockstar created LTS which is just a deathmatch without respawning.

atleast the player created LTS uses fun probs that sometimes creates a nice twist aswell.

it's actually my most played mode now. 4to5 rounds to win is ideal and at the end of the match when you win gives you a average of 35 to 40k. this is also the reason that when i go on call for a LTS, 90 % are player created ones. some games can be unbalanced but most of them are not. i say try it

I prefer LTS to deathmatches. They are more intense and you need to use skill, whereas in DM's although some can be fun, it's just hectic running around and switching weapons.

 

I always thought that players didn't like the aspect of getting killed and then sitting out the rest of the game.

for an LTS it's best to go on call that is if you like the player created ones.

I ask because on my PS4, since I switched to assisted aim, I get more invites, end up in busier lobbies. I used to be a free-aim player, but those lobbies are sparsely populated.

 

Matchmaking isn't that bad if you are set up to seek out games under conditions that the most players play under. It's all god damn stats.

I would play it more if my friends would play it because when i play with randoms and I die early, I have to sit around and watch campers because everyone is afraid to die that one life.

 

I would probably play it more with randoms, if I could live twice.

You're post just made me realise they could have seized on a Bond theme for this mode by calling it You Only Live Twice...reference Bond's apparent death and a chance

to come back from the dead, might have been more appealing.

I play it quite a bit actually. Hell Jets vs Insurgents has helped my jet game improve and Rockets vs Insurgents has helped me time RPG shots better and to get better at combat rolling.

 

I still prefer the R* created maps but those are impossible to find people to play with.

Bad match making and Auto Aim make LTS very annoying and boring to play in public sessions.

 

But with friends... or a big crew. Its fun. Easy to fill and easy to make sure everyones not cheating with auto aim.

Rockets vs Insurgents is probably the most fun I've had in the game recently. Makes me decent money and I level up fairly quick on my second character. Way more fun than grinding VIP missions and it's endlessly entertaining with friends.

Because the process of starting a lobby and gathering players usually takes longer than it does to play the game mode itself.

 

I swear I wish I had kept track of time in menu or loading screens vs. time spent actually playing.

My impression based on invites from players I don't know:

Most played (well, invited): Heists.

Next: Contact/Lamar missions, and if something (not a playlist is 2$), then that as well.

Third: Races, both R* created and user-generated, DM, again both R* created, and user, and user-generated LTS.

Fairly rare: R* captures, R* LTS, survival.

Pretty much never: Parachuting and user captures.

 

I like LTS also (also PC), but it's rare to find a well populated match.

I prefer it to DM in general because it favors a more cautious and slower paced approach, and that suits me better.

Also, I don't get shot in the back by someone respawning who I just killed.

Actually started one as 5v5 today, but by round 2 it was 3v3, and round 3 was 3v2.

Not to mention the bucket head winning every gun battle because lol helmets.
