Open IV won't save....

I'm trying to install this mod: https://www.gta5-mods.com/player/gas_mask

and when I put in the first 2 mask files p_eyes_diff_001_a.ytd & p_eyes_001.ydd the .ydd file doesn't have the textures it's just all orange! I tried manually pressing "add Textures" in the viewing thing for the .ydd and selecting the textures it didn't show up and it doesn't even save the changes I make with only this one mod! I tried other mods it works but I' m doing something wrong! I even tried a mods folder.
