Pointless? How? Theyre great for freemode. Plant a sticky bomb. Stick a mine on top of it for a larger explosion and full control if required. Move away. Chuck a few grenades in the opposite direction, forcing your enemy to either get hit or panic and run towards mine and boom!!! (If they happen to notice mine at last second....set the sticky off). Its fun.

I just use stickies for everything and put a few mines at hydra spawns, I like having 4 weapons in the list while driving

 

And if I need to make something explode while on foot rpg is the solution
