Lots of features that are supposed to be part of the game such as Heists and Freemode events.

GTA Online simply wasn't planned for so they didn't have time to develop it.

What's the point to play the game after you reach rank 120 ? Nothing.

Let's not forget that they have stopped creating contact missions and focused on Adversary modes.

What's the point of Adversary modes for Veterans ? Nothing.

Unless of course you like playing the game.

This thread is talking about the current state of the game, your post doesn't makes sense.

Yeah, I think Batman V Superman: Dawn of Gaylords sucked for a bunch of reasons, but i'm optimistic about future productions. Deadpool did really well for an R rated film so hopefully that means the studios will green light more adult themed comic franchises. I'm thinking Joker, Venom etc to get their own films.

Wait, hang on, am I in the right thread? Balls. Oh well, the point still stands.

Hope this helps,

The current state of the game is just fine. Play a mode you like if adversary modes don't appeal to you.

I'm pretty happy. How many previous GTAs did most of us play just as much as V with nothing ever being added?

I still play GTA Vice City on mobile on a daily basis. I'd probably also avidly play GTA 3 and SA on mobile if my sh*tteh phone had more internal storage. If a game is good enough on its own then you don't really need to be constantly adding content to it.

@Henrique:

Funny, i was thinking the song of Pink Floyd was the really fitting one for the situation of GTA:O.
I liked more the song being performed by Nightwish, though.

The name of their album was also a fitting one: End Of An Era.

That's it, he's spoken everyone, no more responding to this thread, we have our final answer. Except the problem here is obviously not just the presence of disliked adversary modes, it's how much Rockstar has been screwing the game for the past months. I wouldn't give a damn about adversary modes if the game was still offering interesting and self-sufficient gameplay options. There simply aren't almost any by this point, nearly every single mode feels not just old and boring but also actually downgraded in comparison to GTA Online on its prime.

I played daily for 2.5 years. Once Adversary Modes became a staple and they started releasing one car at a time, I quit. You'll always have the die hards but the common, casual players are moving on...

As for the game itself...lots of missed opportunities. Interiors that were never opened, matchmaking that just doesn't work, a broken economy, connectivity issues, the cloud simulator, the removal of things people liked (some contact missions and original freemode events), asinine restrictions on clothing combos, none of the modes people want (cops and crooks), no lobby customizations (friendly fire), no additional contact missions in years (Lamar does not count), no new survivals, no casino, no stock market as promised, no money making properties, no animals, an expansive and untapped ocean..and in the end, a whole lot of business decisions designed to sell shark cards. Lowered payouts, removed missions, inflated car and clothing prices, time limits on relaunched heists, forcing players to sit through cutscenes to artificially increase play time of said heists, and now the recent onslaught of slow drip content used to bait players into playing as opposed to providing actual reasons to play.

Seems the well has run dry over at Rockstar. You all may disagree with me but at this point Id rather have paid DLC, maybe if that route was taken we'd have less of a focus on content designed to make you pay for cash and more a focus on content that makes you want to play.

That sums up GTA online perfectly. Especially a game of missed opportunity. It had every chance of running successfully for 10 years but management at rockstar stuffed up big time.

And when it was in it's prime they employed someone called Leslie.

I get why you people feel this way, but if you were actually involved in a role playing crew online (such as the MC's), it'd give you more reasons to come back. Really, the only big gripe I have with GTAO is that it has no designated biker DLC. MC's are the biggest and fastest growing communities on GTAO, and we havent been given our own DLC. Its preposterous.

To be honest role playing as a biker has always sounded ridiculous to me. I'd be a real biker if I didn't think they were ridiculous in actual life :/.

Until a little over a year ago I had not played video games since I was in high school 20 years ago. I bought a PS4 because I wanted to play MLB The Show as a big baseball fan. I bought it and enjoyed it. A friend of mine told me about GTA Online and when I saw some game play I was amazed. I bought it and have been playing for 14 months and still think it is amazing. Maybe younger people (I am 38) are used to the amazing video games now but as someone that last owned a super nintendo I cannot believe how cool GTAO and a couple other games I have played are. Maybe years down the line I will be more cynical or bitter about lack of updates or new content. But I think this game is so fun and as long as people are online to play Heists, deathmatches, parachuting, racing, adversary modes, piracy prevention, free roam randomness, and my favorite mode Rockets Versus Insurgents I will continue to play the game even if there is never another update.

Good call. Online is much better than V IMO.

Serious question, How do you compare them? They're too much alike for me personally, I couldn't say one is better, I liked story for it's story, I like online for it's online, the rest of the stuff is pretty much the same.

Fair point, I think I can agree on that one, I love creating my own characters and giving them depth and personality.

The story in SP is great but nothing beats your own personal one.

This game has huge potential. The current state of this game is horrible (including the slow loading, garbage cheap netcode that relies on P2P, etc etc.)

Been threatened via pm and told I am brain dead for enjoying GTAO and IV MP for that matter.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the video game industry--no game to include this one, was ever meant to run for 10 years. Why would it when the bulk of the money is made off of the $60 sales (think a billion dollars that first weekend).

This game has far exceeded the vast majority of games on the market in longevity due to 1) how great the game is; 2) how much DLC support it got. It was ALWAYS going to have a shelf life because history suggests that Rock Star would make GTA VI so many years after the release of V.

Your post is yet one more, "this game could be even better/i wish I would get more free sh*t."

This game isn't perfect by any means. But it is clear that people no longer judge this game by industry standards, but by the unrealistic standards that are a function of the game's success. It is the nature of the human being to never be satisfied with anything ever I guess....

Ignore sh*t like that, there will always be nobjobs on the internet but if someone wants to discuss something with you, engage in discussion with an open mind, I've changed my mind about a lot of things in this game (and other things too) from listening to what other people have said, and I've also changed a few opinions myself. A good discussion leaves you either teaching something and/or learning something, it's a good feeling.

Agreed. In my opinion those are few and far between. Everything is negative. No one views anything as half full.

It's good to see forum members finally opened their eyes.

This game is bad and it won't get any better. It's 3 years in, you're delusional if you think it'll get better. Look back at the updates we've had, we've been prisoners of the moment for all of them (excluding Heists, but I don't consider that an update). Rockstar sold us some reggie. lol
