The current state of GTA Online

I have done everything in GTA Online I want to do so I don't play it much anymore. New content that is worth playing would probably get me to play more at least for a short time. Adversary modes, and anything PVP I won't play.

Poll #2 should include "Stay the same."

The only way the game could actually "get worse," is if it gets broken, somehow.
As it is, the game is so good, the only real, arguable criticism is in minor flaws that are within reason in a video game.

I don't know, but I'd assume the people who voted "Worse" in #2 are the same people who voted "Unhappy with GTAO lately" in #1.
Sorry, but you people may not appreciate the full scope of how fortunate you are to have what you have.

I'll still play and enjoy it but there's no motive to play when one mostly owns everything there is to offer. There will be a major update later this year so it's not completely going downhill.

I voted positively twice, there's a huge amount of bad things but they don't compare to the amount of good things.

Nonsense. New content does not mean a better game. Replaying the same content over and over does not make a better game. The cost of the game does not affect its quality.

Stale as hell. Once they either add new contact missions, open Bahama's Mamas & stop with the constant adversary modes, I will find myself playing as much as I did in 2013, 2014 & early 2015.

it should be completly Benny free even with tuners. Benny has been so overused in updates that it needs a rest. ADD tuners in a later update yeah. Just not in the next one,need something fresh As can be

I got over 2.5 years of quality game play across two generations of console, I cannot even guess at how many wasted weeks of REAL time I've poured into this game, all for the low initial purchase price.

 

I can't believe how loudly some people whine that they haven't gotten enough.

I played daily for 2.5 years. Once Adversary Modes became a staple and they started releasing one car at a time, I quit. You'll always have the die hards but the common, casual players are moving on...

 

As for the game itself...lots of missed opportunities. Interiors that were never opened, matchmaking that just doesn't work, a broken economy, connectivity issues, the cloud simulator, the removal of things people liked (some contact missions and original freemode events), asinine restrictions on clothing combos, none of the modes people want (cops and crooks), no lobby customizations (friendly fire), no additional contact missions in years (Lamar does not count), no new survivals, no casino, no stock market as promised, no money making properties, no animals, an expansive and untapped ocean..and in the end, a whole lot of business decisions designed to sell shark cards. Lowered payouts, removed missions, inflated car and clothing prices, time limits on relaunched heists, forcing players to sit through cutscenes to artificially increase play time of said heists, and now the recent onslaught of slow drip content used to bait players into playing as opposed to providing actual reasons to play.

 

Seems the well has run dry over at Rockstar. You all may disagree with me but at this point Id rather have paid DLC, maybe if that route was taken we'd have less of a focus on content designed to make you pay for cash and more a focus on content that makes you want to play.

the best game because everyone could see its potential.

the most disappointing/frustrating game as you see that potential wasted and increasingly unlikely to be acted on.

 

..and if the future of GTA is microtransactions, this wasted potential will be the closest we'll ever get to what this franchise could be.

Maybe they want to get more attention of younger players. Why? Because more kids mean more money for them. Kids get money from parents.

I have noticed that most of those mask users are under 14. Actually most of the players now in most of sessions I am in, seems to be younger than that.

Single player is meant for more adult minded peoples. Thats why I mostly play only single player story modes.

GTA online is like pink and jelly green turd from some hipster swag nerds butt, sitting in R* games office.

That turd is meant to get eaten by young youtubers so younger squaker kids get addicted for all that silly stuff. Because it seems to be on fashion now.

GTA Online is actualy marketed at the people who are adults and don't have a lot of time to play the game.

Thus they have money(work) but no time to play the game, meaning they'll buy Shark Cards.

Kids rarely buy Shark Cards and if they do only at special occasions, most parents are smart enough to know what their children pay money for.

Most children in fact will try the easy way through modding and money glitches...

 

The people that pay for GTA Online are mostly adults.

And if another player in a racoon mask bothers you that much you might just reconsider your priorities.

GTA Online is fun for some adullts as well, they'll either sit in passive driving around, play races or simply try out new cars that release etc.

I wore a pig mask for a while because I liked having a weird back story to my character, it involved a pig and a tourist, it's a game, it doesn't have to be serious, a lot of people find ways of making sp ridiculous, when you're playing sp alone you wont see the ridiculous side because you're not interested in that, when you come together with other players, you'll see how they play games, if it wasn't for all the kids playing this game, we probably wouldn't have all the dlc.

 

It shouldn't piss you off that players don't take modding cars seriously or want to wear masks, masks are great, especially ones that have the word gas in front of them.

i am not at all happy with the current state of gta online. the community is cancer (not on the forums) it is filled with hackers. despite the game being for 18+ it has attracted so many f*cking children. i seriously prefer the dota community, which is also sh*t, but at least it is not filled with little children.

 

the recent updates with the low riders have been garbage. they are a disgrace. low riders are such a niche thing to focus an entire update on. rockstar needs to get their sh*t together and start working on some actual updates rather than more expensive yet pointless cars that you will drive for one day and then sell the following day.

yes, i have been happy, the game still fun to play, when i manage to get pass the connection issues, overall i enjoy the game.

worse... i think gtao peaked already, so it can only go down from here, to be honest im happy with whatever happen, i got my moneys worth off this game. as long as i can log into gtao, is a good day.

Grand Theft Auto Online has grown in ways never seen nor expected by any of us or Rockstar themselves. I've loved the game since launch and still play it regularly. However, I personally picked 'no', and 'worse', as the game itself has grown stale with the lack of actual DLC content and myriad of flat, immediate gratification content updates. I do enjoy them, mind you, I'm Not a Hipster was likely my favourite update out of them all, even over Heists to be honest, but this game needs something big, and it needs a lot of fixes and help to keep it going with the fluctuating playerbase and plethora of game-breaking glitches. The overall lack of balance and sparse bug-fixing patches has only gotten worse since the arrival of the Heists update, and now that we're a year out and still in the same boat, I honestly can't have any more faith in it.

The next installment, however, is bound to fix most of these problems, and I, for one, am excited for it.

There are many ways the game can get worse. We have seen how the game got worse when they added the homing launcher, which did almost nothing to stop griefers, but only managed to increase the griefing itself. The racing community have lost a lot of fun due to the addition of cars that break classes. On PC, the abundance of mod menu users and the way Rockstar is so ineffective against them must be an embarrassment. The armored Kuruma is basically now only known as a trollmobile. The nerfing of the mechanic for no good reason. All of these things was introduced in so-called updates, but has only been detrimental to the game.

I haven't been happy with it as of late, but I do think it'll get better. I've been playing online (SP before that) since February of 2014, and there's been times where it's worse off (Summer of 2014 was pretty sh*t to be honest leading into the flight school which was also...pretty sh*t) and it's got better. The only reason there's so much negativity is the Adversary modes they keep hammering in everyweek, though I think the negativity would be just as pronounced, or nearly so, hell maybe even more so, if they just went silent. I think we'll get something in May, hopefully it's not another Benny's themed DLC, or if it is, hopefully it adds new Cars, and isn't focused on lowriders but the widebody stuff and maybe other types of conversions.

 

I digress, haven't really been happy with it or playing it much aside from when friends are on, but I think we'll get something soon, and it'll get better probably it's their golden goose, they'll pull their heads out of their asses like they have before and pick up the egg. Just remains to see if the next update does that or not.
