What is your Starting Weapon?

After spending a few weeks being a Pistoleer with various pistols, I've decided to go back to using more effective weaponry. Out of curiosity, what weapon do you have set as your Starting Weapon?

You mean like, my primary weapon for fighting?

If I'm playing to win, some kind of assault rifle (usually a Carbine) is my choice. If I'm playing to mess about, I'll be switching it up a lot. Muskets, marksman pistol, revolver, combat mg from outside auto aim range, sniper; I just change about with as much as I can.

I like the pistol 50. Habitual quick head shots for days. Not even the bp helmet saves them.

Jerking For Soup

Musket for short range, if I'm feeling confident about those one-shot kills.

Assault Shotgun mainly for short range if enemy is using anything but a shotgun.

Heavy Sniper for long range.

Marksman Rifle for Medium Range.

Special Carbine for short range if enemy uses a shotgun.

Switchblade for AFK kills and "wtf" moments.

It escalates in this order:

- AP Pistol / Sticky Bomb (from an Insurgent)

- Hydra cannon

- Lazer cannon

Of course, these days I rarely bother with even the first, and things rarely escalate beyond the second.

What do you mean, starting weapon? For starting a session off or if we were to do a whole new character?

In both cases, the Special Carbine. My friend actually prefers the Advance Rifle due to more damage so I rolled with it for a session but found it way harder to kill players that were driving away. It has more damage but is less accurate/stable. I quickly switched to the Special Carbine after that. Not only can you get it straight when you start a new character but it's up there as one of the best weapons. It's pretty good. I'm no weapons expert so don't take my word for it but if I had to take a GOOD guess I'd say it would be a top-tier weapon, no doubt.

If all else fails, AP Pistol; an SMG on steroids. You can use it on bikes, in cars, shoots quickly and while it may fire all over the place it's actually pretty accurate for what it is.

If all else fails again, just say "f*ck it" and run at them. Intimidation is the best weapon. Best used with no shirt on and wearing a hockey mask.

If you mean the weapon you pick on a mission/heist screen, I use knuckleduster. I prefer unarmed but heists doesn't (or didn't used to, been a while) work w that. I choose that because it doesn't make me run slower, I equip what I need as needed, and I don't need a gun when there's somewhere to run first.

Seems to be a lot of Special Carbine love in this thread - I'm part of that crowd too.

My starting weapon for missions? Jerry can. Because it looks hillarious, especially when re-trying a heist.

I'm assuming you mean for deathmatches, heists, and capture games, in which case the Carbine Rifle, because I love me an HK 416. Otherwise, sniper rifles in freemode. Heavy rifle for targets over level 90, normal sniper for those under.

Mine is AKS-74u for some reason. The starting weapon does not really matter tho because I usually end up switching weapons

The ironic part is that the Assault Rifle, or AK-47(Norinco Type 56-2) in GTA V/Online is anything but "The very best they is." It's considered the best in games like CS:GO and Rust but here it just isn't as effective as the other Assault Rifles. It's somewhat of a shame, but it lets other Assault Rifles have the spotlight at the same time.
