If I had to take a guess? Each car is fitted with special military fuel-saving technology. If anyone watched Ripley's Believe It Or Not they'll know what I'm talking about.

I find this arguement / statement / idea of having fuel in GTA cars as fking stupid, its GTA the same game that you can have a complete ammo store jammed in your pocket....

BUT I will add this.... Online needs the fuel tank physic like in Single player..... good hard shot and car starts leaking

This is the real truth, which people answered way back 2.5 years ago when this question was first asked. There's never been a vehicle in GTA0 that has lasted long enough to require refueling.

 

EDIT: Given the above, it could be that GTA0 has always had refueling, but no one has ever run out of gas before abandoning or destroying the vehicle.

That could work, though it might be a little irritating for people who just like to mess around with their weaponized vehicles against AI.

 

Still, it'd mix things up a bit. Also, having to land to restock on missiles/ammo could be good.

thats the only time you would see that gauge moving, you can drive the car all day and it wont run out of gas.

 

before the game launched i really wanted cars to use fuel. i got excited when they announced the khamelion, i was like yeah fuel usage is pretty much confirmed i mean, why would they add an electric car unless the rest of the cars use fuel.

 

im always down for some realism, so i wont mind if gta 6 incluides fuel usage.

i didn't think you knew that in single player or you seems didn't understand

he meant leaked gasoline trail from a vehicle in SP mode , including rhino tank . in online , this is never happen and instead blew up after getting few shot in weak spot

it won't be in 6 either so don't get your hopes up, not unless they allow mods online. Not sure why people think it would be boring or too realistic to need fuel, it's just one more thing to think about and could add some funny ass moments when you're in a chase and have to worry about your fuel level & fuel leaks. Actually, if it was a thing at release by now R* would have added an option in the interaction menu to refuel easily so it would be useless anyways.

They're catering to the lowest common denominator, that's what I assume most people mean when their reason for not wanting more realism is "it's GTA". Yea it's a somewhat realistic game with somewhat realistic physics based on a real location... Turned into a damn kids game that caters mostly to military shooter fans or whatever kind of people play video games to bounce uber expensive sh*tty cars ...and minivans lol

 

Not that the gas deal pisses me off, just the attitude that "it's GTA" so why add realism... Then where's my F'ing jet pack? I know I left it in that base somewhere! And why buy ammo when we can just fire self-generating laser bubbles out of our customizable shlongs?... It's GTA right?

Oh I didn't think of that. I'm the kind of guy that wouldn't even bother waiting at the stations - I'd just chuck a proximity mine down, like I do with helipads, etc.

heck i can see R* making a profit by selling "fuel cards" that allow you to not run out of fuel for X amount of days.

I wouldn't go as far as opening a fuel cards discussion, hell if they added fuel just to charge real money to avoid it that would be a big turn off imo.

 

I only say mods because there's probably already a working fuel mod for single player on PC, it's just a matter of convincing R* to allow us to have some online lobby options to turn on & off their verified scripts. There would be zero harm done by allowing some current mods in invite only lobbies (Not mod menus, real mods).
