Anybody else sick to death of Adversary Modes?!?!

Every time I see Adversary Modes, I delete them on sight. Simple as that.

What I really don't get is that there seems to be universal disdain for these things and yet Rockstar roll them out like we want to do nothing other than adversary stuff.

If someone came along right now and had never seen the would think the entire purpose of it was adversary modes.

I think it's due to these Adversary Modes being pre-produced.

Rhino Hunt for example was found 4 months ahead in the files.

Someone please make a meme out of that Toy Story scene with buzz saying, "Adversary Modes... as far as the eye can see"

This good enough?

lol... The look on Woodys face is the look on nearly every GTA players face every time a new adversary mode comes out..

In all honesty, I like the modes, but I wish we could get something different. They're great and all, sometimes, but I just wish it wasn't all we were getting.

Also, holy f*cking sh*t, Martin, stop spamming my god damned phone with invites to Rhino Hunt.

2 and a half years since release. You still holding onto hope of a "real DLC"? I gave up on that months ago. Just resigned myself to the fact that all we'll get are small updates that are interesting for a whole 5 minutes. It's pretty obvious that there is nothing new, exciting or game changing coming.

2 and a half years?

What?

For me Executives and Other Criminals, Free Mode Events and Lowriders, were pretty major DLCs, along with Heists of course all game changing in their own way.

Denying that, I am sorry, is just entitled hating.

We've not had any DLC.

How is it entitled hating? It simply is not unless I'm talking to a mindless fanboy.

It's called having an opinion. If you don't like it, don't read it.

"We've not had any DLC" is a false statement.

Also you seem like a mindless hater, if you cannot see that Executives&OC or Free Mode events were big Updates.

No, it's an accurate statement. We have had several updates. To me, a DLC is something that is optional or an expansion. We have had forced updates.

Big updates =/= good updates. Nor do they equal game changing, innovative or interesting just because of the size of the update.

DLC means Downloadable content, thus "We've not had any DLC" is a false statement, it doesn't matter whether you think what we got isn't "good", it is as a matter of fact DLC.

It also doesn't matter what YOUR arbitrary definition of DLC is.

Executives and Other Criminals as well as Free Mode Events both were game changing and innovative.

Interesting is subjective, but the 2 above are facts.

Free Mode Events changed the complete game dynamic since it provided players Missions, Events and Activities to do in the Free Roam enviroument.

It is innovative because it is one coherent Online experience, no loading screens, no lobbies, no hosts.

So when your PC tells you there is an update, do you think of it as DLC? Fact remains, DLC is traditionally optional content. Updates are forced. Pretty certain Rockstar refer to them as updates rather than DLC, but I guess they're also wrong.

Activities in a public environment are nothing new in gaming. Stop trying to prove that there has been innovative and game changing content released as there simply has not. Just a lot of fluff with retail opportunities.

I hate to jump in but please, stop having this attitude that you're right about everything and that your opinion is never wrong. What we get are UPDATES - not DLC. If it was DLC, we would have to purchase / download it from the Xbox or PSN store.

I like them just fine on occasion. But then again I like the game as a whole.

Oh my f*cking god, I can't actualy believe this...

DLC is DOWNLOADEABLE CONTENT; it is a SET IN STONE DEFINITION.

God damn it.

What we got was

A. DOWNLOADABLE

B. CONTENT

Therefor it was DLC.

DLC DOES NOT need to be optional, it is not part of its definition, it is part of your arbitrary defnition which is WRONG.

Activities in a public environment are nothing new in gaming. Stop trying to prove that there has been innovative and game changing content released as there simply has not. Just a lot of fluff with retail opportunities.

Which other game features a dynamic open world which can start Missions and Events on the fly, without additional loading screens or lobbies?

If you can tell me one, I am curious, since I would like to play said game.

Off the top of my head, Destiny.

Regarding your DLC / Update argument, answer me this - is it forced or optional? And why do Rockstar themselves call them Updates and not DLC?

I expect Mr Boss ftw to make a video on this.

It doesn't matter if it is "forced or optional", R* calls it both DLC AND Updates, because one does not mean the other is excluded.

Also, did you ever play Destiny?

Because during the time I played it starting Missions allways had a spaceship(loading screen) in between...

Do I ever play Destiny? Why on earth do you think I used it as an example? Of course I do! You never done any of the patrol missions? No loading screens required.

No loading screens. Like freemode events.

No xenox, you are wrong. We can't play the game if we don't download the damn {{UPDATE}} when trying to play. I can't manually download a certain DLC from the Xbox one store. You sir, need to calm down and stop being so one minded like you're right every time.

Well I don't care if Rockstar calls them dlc (which they don't); I call them updates.

Piddly little cr*ppy ones at that, too.

I can't recall Rockstar calling them DLC.

Well, if that isn't the case...what is the point in arguing over it in the first place?

They didn't call it DLC...so they obviously didn't promise any DLC either.

Patrol Missions? Never done those.

Interesting, but do said patrol Missions feature PvP AND PvE elements at the same time creating an experience of organized chaos?

I doubt it.

Other than that, were Free Mode Events and VIP Missions still game changing for GTA Online?

Yes, they were, they added something entirely different to the game, changing around the whole Free Roam dynamic.

Piddly little cr*ppy ones at that, too.

Executives and Other Criminals was a "piddly little crappy" Update?

Free Mode Events as well?

Lowriders as well?

Good lord this community will never be satisfied, and with never I mean....NEVER.

If you honestly expect a Free Map Expansion for GTA Online and that would be a "decent sized" Update at that point...it isn't worth it, honestly it isn't...

That expansion was worth about 40$ at the time of release if I recall correctly.

Other than that, all 2015 GTA Online Updates combined, have easily the same amount of content EFLC had.

Additionally I don't see how the existence of that makes other Updates "Piddly little cr*ppy ones", unless you are over relativizing...

I'd pay $40 for another like that.

And yes; Low riders was a piddly little cr*ppy one. Free mode events was okay; as was E&O. Nothing spectacular though, and nothing close to the picture above.

Sometimes you just have to accept that your opinion isn't going to be everyone's bible, and you need to let others say whatever they want.

I am just astonished by the communities lack of proper satisfaction, probably R* should start charging money for Weapons skins and car colors...now at least...I'd be f*cking happy about it.

Episodes from Liberty City was not a weapon skin. Pointless BS is pointless.

EFLC was a huge deal, packed full of new missions, new activities, etc. It was far larger than anything we've had yet, and is the kind of update people want.
