Landotel
There was a possible leak on Reddit, for all 9 maps: *EDIT, just found something strikingly similar event for one of the maps https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/4kmu5d/titles_of_the_vanilla_game_maps_have_been_leaked "Anonymous source inside EA (Not DICE) have tipped me off with the names of all the maps in the vanilla game. Asiago Offensive (Italian Alps Map) Gaza Sands (Desert Map) Siege of Damascus (I'd assume desert-urban...?) Stalemate (Sounds like a Flanders fields kinda deal) ANZAC Cove (Sounds like Gallipoli, I'd assume that 'D-day map' LevelCap mentioned and the one with the Battleship ruining the coastline) Garden Twilight (No idea) Argonne Shade (Probably the forrest map we saw in the trailer) Operation Castlewick (No idea either, maybe references something in campaign?) Scorched Earth (Sounds Western or Eastern Front...?) Now according to the source, these may or may not be the actual titles used in game but they were definitely at least working titles or suggested titles at some point." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Thoughts: I'm thinking there could be more than one country, it could be just Allies vs Axis style with multiple countries fighting in one location for some of them or could be the main country fighting in the war. remember this is my analysis of what are the possibilities of what war battle these maps can occur, names of these can change and may not be real 1.) Asiago Offensive - Since it's most likely in the Italian Alps, we could be seeing Allies: Kingdom of Italy - Axis: Austria-Hungary, part of the Italian Front https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Asiago 2.) Gaza Sands - Most likely one of three Battle of Gazas, Allies: United Kingdom (with New Zealand, Australia, & India units) or possibly France - Axis: Ottoman Empire or German Empire I'm mostly leaning to the 1st or 2nd Battle of Gaza: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Battle_of_Gaza https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Battle_of_Gaza 3.) Siege of Damascus - It's obviously, the Capture of Damascus and the main contenders are, Allies: United Kingdom (with New Zealand, British India, & Australia units), France, Sharif of Mecca or Kingdom of Hejaz - Axis: Ottoman Empire or German Empire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capture_of_Damascus_(1918) 4.) Stalemate - I'm guessing 2nd Battle of Ypres, the introduction of Chemical Warfare, Allies: France or United Kingdom (with other territories controlled by UK) - Axis: German Empire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_Battle_of_Ypres 5.) ANZAC Cove - Part of the Gallipoli Campaign, but more specifically the Landing At Anzac Cove, is most likely going to be Allies: United Kingdom (with India, Newfoundland, Australia, & New Zealand units) - Axis: Ottoman Empire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landing_at_Anzac_Cove 6.) Garden Twilight - At first, I wasn't too sure, but someone on Reddit made some sort of battle in the country fields speculation, I think it could possibly be one of the Battles of Isonzo, Allies: Italy - Axis: Austria-Hungary or German Empire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battles_of_the_Isonzo 7.) Argonne Shade - Could be the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, this probably the only American battle for multiplayer, the only appearance they would make since this is their battle, Allies: United States (Most Likely), France (Most Likely), or Siam (Least Likely) - Axis: German Empire or Austria Hungary "Meuse-Argonne Offensive was the largest in United States military history, involving 1.2 million American soldiers, and was one of a series of Allied attacks known as the Hundred Days Offensive, which brought the war to an end. " https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meuse-Argonne_Offensive 8.) Operation Castlewick - I'm just guessing on this one, but Castlewick isn't really a word and not much info is on it, but I found the definition of these words, Castle: a large building or group of buildings fortified against attack with thick walls, battlements, towers, and in many cases a moat. Wick: (in place names) a town, hamlet, or district. I'm assuming it could be Battle of Jerusalem or Siege of Przemysl, to me most likely Jerusalem since it's strikingly goes with what castle and wick means. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Jerusalem https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Przemy%C5%9Bl 9.) Scorched Earth - Probably has something to do with the Russians https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scorched_earth ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Possibility of 3 More Maps After It's Release? If this is real, the possiblity of 3 more maps being added on right after the game releases, these are ones I hope would be first released: Siege of Antwerp (1914) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siege_of_Antwerp_(1914) Battle of Verdun https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Verdun Brusilov Offensive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brusilov_Offensive Battle of Sarikamish https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Sarikamish The Romanian Campaign https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romania_during_World_War_I Battle of Cambrai https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Cambrai_(1917) Spring Offensive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spring_Offensive Edited May 29, 2016 by Raul Passos acmilano

If you're firing at someone, they cannot have someone spawn on them, that's the only thing I can think of that makes sense. If they make it to where you cannot spawn on someone when in proximity to an enemy it would probably make it useless, since most people spawn on their squadmates when they flank around to a flag (look at Metro or Locker.) or to an objective in general. There isn't much they can do besides fine tune what is or isn't combat.

Cosmic Gypsy
I cant wait for the multiplay gameplay. Anyone else preordering the deluxe edition? Not after the sh*t game that was Battlefield 4. On release that really was quite a pathetic excuse for a game. Don't get me wrong though, i expect Battlefield 1 to be a lot better than Battlefield 4 even on day 1 release. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic and naive but one can only hope. bloatedsack and thafablifee46

And I own it on both PS4 and PC (played it from release to a couple of months after a f*ckton on PS4. But onwards/recently been playing quite alot now on PC. Pre ordered the collectors edition (or atleast had the option for a possible collectors edition pre order). The one they're doing for BF1 looks f*cking awesome (and I'm a dude who pretty much always gets the Collectors Edition for a game I'm hyped for or if there's the option). thafablifee46 and PoeticWhisper

Tali vas Normandy
Yeah i thought that was extremely funny. Must be the reason why COD is always futuristic, Also makes me wonder if EA shot down any other ideas for such reasons. Also, I do think the game will live up to the hype. I honestly don't see myself buying it day one. Would rather a few months and get everything a bit cheaper and fair priced. Because f*ck this Deluxe edeiton bullsh*t they are pulling off. donnits
I loved Battlefield 3, 4 and (sue me) Hardline's multiplayer. I'm certain I will love Battlefield 1's, especially since I'm an Infantry player. However, one thing I have high hopes for is the campaign. I know Battlefield isn't about campaigns, but there is so much potential for a WW1 story. One thing I loved about Call of Duty (at least up to Black Ops 1) was how much effort they put into their single-player. Black Ops was a great thriller and I absolutely love it, but my favorite story is World at War. I haven't played any WW2 Call of Dutys before World at War, but the focus on " " was just what I want in Battlefield 1. World at War is around 8 years old, but that game's despair and brutality still sticks with me. Having real footage of WW2 before each level, combined with Gary Oldman or Kiefer Sutherland's narration added even further. I know it's sick to hope for, especially in a historic setting where it actually happened, but gore and dismemberment do so much for a game of this style. Essentially, I hope Dice can capture the same aura as World at War. gooeyhole, EddyTheRepublicanFury and thafablifee46

Jim Sterling actually made a cool video about this, talking about how a lot of good ideas have the threat of getting scrapped, because dumb executives think they wouldn't be fun.
