PoeticWhisper
its gonna be just like battlefront, with little content and all the other stuff costing an additional cost of a season pass I seriously doubt this, because a season pass hasn't even been announced, for one, and they've already confirmed free content drops. Also dunno if this was mentioned yet, but some people at IGN got to see some behind the scenes stuff and apparently Battleships will be controllable this time around. I'm very excited about this as I don't think we've been able to do this in any bf game after the very first one. FullMetal
The more I hear about the 'BCD' footage shown, see the trailer and think about it the more interested I get. I'm really curious how they're going to work out the gunplay! I have been playing some Battlefield 4 again on PC and hope they won't focus too much on automatic guns. Also: buff up pistols/revolver. Make em a viable weapon (hell, in WW2 they can be considered as 'primary' weapons). GTA_stu, Ciaran, Daz and 1 other
Skeever
I read somewhere that they plan on keeping the bolt-action rifles in the Recon (sniper) class, with the other classes focusing more on automatic weaponry, which is a bit unfortunate if true. Still, so long as the scopes are removable, the bayonets affixable and the boonie hats wearable, I'll be happy. GTA_stu, Daz and Ciaran
poppafewpills
The trailer and stream that followed certainly has peaked my interest for sure. Hopefully it turns out better than the way gta5 did... For starters I'm hoping to be able to play it the first week of owning the game.
Daz
I hope we can still use any weapon we want, no matter what side we are on. I would say it would be unrealistic but it seems like these battles are mostly going to be random as f*ck anyway, and you will probably have non-authentic looking soldiers, such as these armored flamethrower and hand held belt fed machine gun troops. So I don't see why the hell not. At least it will add some choice. I also think they should scrap the locked weapons to certain kits. The kits should be about the equipment only, and how they compliment a weapon. But if I want to be a scout with binoculars and traps but have a shotgun or iron sighted rifle, I should be allowed to do that. I always like playing as support but not with an LMG and be able to have ammo with me at all times while still using rifles, smgs or shotguns. I don't think it would be overpowering at all letting people use any gun with any equipment. There are no restrictions like that in real life so why put it in the game? The bolt action rifles really do need to be almost always a 1 shot kill too. If you have the skill to line up a shot you should damn well get it. Or at least knock someone flat on their arse with 1% health. It just want the weapons to be valued in ways they would be in real life. I don't like it how because games have to give more health to players it makes certain weapons redundant. A lot of weapons were really unreliable and rarely used. Even though you could get a snail drum mag for a Luger, most people really should be encouraged to rock a bolt action rifle. Give upgrades to speed them up by adding better aperture peep sights and stripper clips to speed up loading. Polished bolts for faster rate of fire/etc. Try to stay away from the obvious random paintjobs on guns. Though I would settle for customizing the type of wood on a rifle, walnut/beech wood, some nicer patterns like you do get on surplus rifles. Even personalized etchings on the stock if need be. But as long as they don't treat all this equipment as dull and expect people to be bored of it all. Make it desirable by being deadly as they should be. And if they are really trying to force melee fights in this, give the melee weapon it's own weapon slot and make it more of a quicker use item when properly equipped. I can't stand the stupid stabbing animations, I miss the old stealthy pin-prick style stab from the older games that didn't compromise you. The stupid animations start making things all personal and annoying. The most satisfying was timing a swing of a sledgehammer in hardline and connecting with someone with a satisfying "bonk" sound. More of that, less of the saving private ryan slow stabbing. Nobody got time for that sh*t, I cba waiting around for an animation to finish so some moron can feel all tough and cool. I would much prefer to just choose a heavy boot and kick someone up the arse duke nukem style. GTA_stu
Don't know about you guys but I'm really excited for the campaign. I haven't said that for an FPS in I don't know how long. I've never played a WW1 game before, and it's a really interesting time so it'll be fun to experience it. I'd like to think there's good reason for them to really try nail it and put their all into it as well, whereas with other campaigns that's not always the case. Same here, I'm looking forward to this because I believe while DICE is bad at making futuristic SP plot especially Battlefield 4, this is probably the first time DICE is making a past SP plot, so I figured why not give them a chance. Creed Bratton
It will have an in-game server browser! That was one of my biggest gripes with BF3 and BF4. It's why I didn't buy those games. A PC multiplayer shooter without an in-game server browser was an atrocious idea. I'm glad to see that they've come to their senses. But it's still an EA game and I don't trust EA so I'm gonna wait and see how this develops. Perhaps AMD will bundle it with their new cards later this year. That might work for me. It was a retarded way to browse servers and it was enough to put me off the game entirely. I spoke too soon. It turns out that it's not actually confirmed that server browser will be in-game (on PC). Daz
The fact that it's actually going to be open like BFBC1 rather than linear shooting galleries has me excited to play SP. Yeah I really didn't get why that concept was scrapped. You couldn't ask for a more perfect game to have more open world levels in it. Being that the whole multiplayer is vehicle based in large open areas. I really miss that golf course level, just hauling ass around in a T-90 f*cking sh*t up. I don't mind smaller CQB indoor levels, but it would make it a bit more fun and memorable if you could choose your own direction, to the objective, being rewarded for doing so by unique weapon pickups and vehicles off the beaten track. I guess kind of what Hardline did with it's final mission (I think), on that island where you could choose the order of your objectives, and if you went a certain way you could find new and different ways in to the last part of the map. Most of all though I really hope it has co-op, or at least something similar but much better and in a grander scale than the Bad Company 2 co-op DLC missions. I think I only ever played those once. No idea why though as the game owned. I think the multiplayer just ended up being so damn fun there wasn't ever much desire to seek any outside enjoyment from it. I just don't want a battlefront casual bullsh*t pander-fest. What form does it take? I'll just paste that part of the article: As reported by PlayStationLifestyle, Wilson said that EA would work to produce macro-monetization opportunities (things like DLC, maps, and other large-scale content) for the game. That won't surprise anybody. However, there will likely be "micro-monetization opportunities" in the game where EA will make cash from "smaller increments in gameplay". Wilson went on to say how elements of gameplay will be introduced "that allow gamers to engage and drive and extend and enhance their experience much the way people will do with FIFA Ultimate Team or Madden Ultimate Team today".
