Manex
Basically when I edit any model on 3ds max it loses it's default GTA:SA lighting and it's annoying, this is what I mean: Original Object After Exporting with Kams files I just want be able to export the buildings I create with the Default San Andreas enviroment reflection or however it's called. Sloth-
You simply have to activate this box in the exporting options: Yeah, i'm recently discovering that too... EDIT: sorry man, i'm finding that if your model has night vertex colors, it will lose it if you edit it... I still don't know how to manage that. Sloth-
I found better ways to export the model without modifying its enviroment illuminating:Use Deniska DFF Exporter.Once you are ready to export your model, run the dff export and you'll see this: If your model doesn't have night vertex color or you want it to use the same illumination colors day and night, uncheck the "night vertex" box. Beware of the "geometry light" option. Some models could need it, and some models not. But what if you want to edit a model that has its own night colors? Well, that's a problem, because the Kam's script DFF I/O can't import the night colors, only imports the day colors from an object, and that means you will lose the night vertex color. You have two options: 1) You'll have to remade the night vertex colors, and export with Deniska script. How? This can give you an idea. Notice that the guy from the video use "Xmen vertex paint helper" before colouring. DON'T do that or you will lose the day vertex color of your model. Just apply two "Vertex Painting" modifiers to your model, one of them has the "Vertex Color" channel actived and the other must have the "Vertex illuminating" channel actived. The last one IS your night vertex color. Go and practice, experiment by yourself. Once you've redone your model, you MUST save a copy as .max, in case you need to re-edit, because of your import limitations. 2) You can actually import into 3ds max the night vertex colors from a dff model. Follow this link. The problem with this method is that i don't know how to pass the vertex color channel info to the vertex illumination channel... There is actually another script that can import night color vertex into 3ds max: http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=16737 But never worked for me, i'm using 3ds max 2012.
