tuareg
AW was pure garbage, BOIII was complete ass, and now they want to explore further into the futuristic bs by going into space. I don't even have a problem with the setting intself, but there's no way they're going to fully commit to it. There's no doubt IW will be just like the last two games with a different look/names for perks.

Treyarch however I'm sure will go back to WW2 or something like that which will be very good. I really wished each of the three developers would have their own timeframe to make COD games on, like this: Infinity Ward - The Present (2000-2030) basically the same timeframe as the Modern Warfare games and also Black Ops 2/Homefront since they not too far in the future (2024 is nearer than 2004 currently is to now) Treyarch - The Past (anytime before the 21st Century) games set in WW2, Vietnam and cold war, as well as fantasy settings like the cold war becoming WW3 between 1963-1989, that would be a refreshing game Sledgehammer - The Future (2040 and beyond) basically what we get now but not shoved down our throats like it has for the last 4 years. BO3 took my favorite game's setting and completely butchered it with its awful campaign, lol. Why are people up in arms about the futuristic vibe again? A modern game could have parkour/chained movements too. Lemoyne outlaw

SouthLand
Oh and by the way, Why don't they make a game a war game where the US was not present? I mean the character you control is American, however he is a volunteer fighting in another war. Lemoyne outlaw
what so you all think of the terminal remastered pre order map. i know what most people think. its just another gimmick to get more sales. im actually excited for iw and terminal. the black sky gameplay was good too. until they got in there jets and went to space. im not a big fan of that. but im not gonna keep beating the dead horse like most people. Edward Nashton
I actually like what I've seen so far from COD:IW. It's probably the iconoclast in me, but the fact that the COD fan base HATES this game makes me want to check it out even more. Plus, COD 4 (AKA the last good COD) remastered will be packaged with this game, so there's that as well. Lemoyne outlaw
have any of you seen the zombies trailer? it looks fun. i love how people are hating it already how predictable. i like the theme and setting definitaly different than treyarch zombies. infinite warfare is shaping up to be a good game. if everyone could stop beating the dead horse then i think others would realize it too. what do yall think about it? X S
The game is like a literal parody of itself. It's like Activision watched the Righteous Slaughter ads and thought it was a great idea for a game. Payne Killer and Ivan1997GTA

For a while COD was firmly planted in WW2 and people were beginning to get bored of it, 4 came out and brought it into modern times and made the franchise fresh again. although, I remember there being a portion of the fan base that hated it because they wanted the series to remain in WW2. I don't think the franchise would have lasted very long if they'd have done that.

Just look at the WaW Zombies and compare it with the current ones in BO3. Also, I didn't like the prestige mode that was implemented in COD 4 (repeating all the levels for nothing but extra spaces and silly camos). And then there's the specialists, taunts, supply drops, killstreaks, exo suits and cod points. Unless they make a decent WW2 or Vietnam game, I think I won't be buying a single COD for a long time (I haven't bought a COD since BO1). RogerWho
Wouldn't it be dope if this game kicked ass and every hater would be proven wrong? It's rather unlikely given the COD formula, but before COD4 came there was an outcry about the change of the setting too, and look how that turned out. As much as I don't trust trailers, I don't see anything inherently wrong with this game. COD suffers from a problem that every new game has to be flashier with more grandiose set pieces and futuristic setting fits that perfectly. I guess there's an argument that in the far future we won't be using tactics and guns like today but Aliens and Starship troopers made that work, so let's see. Gummy
I'm still pretty optimist about the campaign. They're trying to do something different and they have 2 Naughty Dog veterans working on the story. Zombies look okay I guess, but if IW is going to Outer space then Extinction mode from Ghost has to return in some way too. Also why did they cast well known actors just for the zombies mode and not the main campaign? Edited September 1, 2016 by Gummy
esmittystud101
I've been playing CoD since the original. Don't get me wrong, since the original campaign compaired to the campaigns now, its like night and day. Rightfully so, Original Xbox < Xbox One/PS4/PC. Anyways, the past I would say five to six years atleast they have been decent. Nice explosions always make for a better time. But if you were going to tell me that Infinity Warfare's Campaign is going to knock my socks off. I would call bul*sh*t on that. Look the campaigns are decent. Nothing more though. Nothing even memorable. We get explosions here and there. But until they totally vier away from these linear type campaigns, its always going to be just decent probably here on out. They need to think outside the box. Give the players something totally different. I mean totally. Like make it into an RPG kind of shooter. Something like The Divison does. They tried with going with the co op campaign which was a nice option. But nothing game changing. I'll have to admit though. The fact that they are including the CoD Remaster and Zombies(which Infinity Ward never does) the game is really tempting to go buy. CoD 4 campaign might be the best of the series. But after playing CoD campaigns through three generations of consoles...................I doubt it is going to stand out to me much along with the new Infinate Warfare campaign. Black Ops 3 is a good game. Zombies is huge and the multiplayer maps have been excellent..........It hurts me to say this because Treyarch is my favorite out of the three developers, but I have no drive to play it anymore. I've only Prestigued once maybe in mp. Haven't had the urge to attempt any easter eggs with zombies either. Why???????????? Because its the same game we get ever year. Linear campaign, endless rounds of zombies, Prestige in multiplayer, back to the linear campaign, new zombie map, Prestige in multiplayer. It is an endless cycle of the same. Change up your game and the drive for the series will return for me. Take change into consideration or they might end up with the most hated series in the history of gaming. Gummy
I remember somewhere said that the Retribution ship will be a hub world where we will be able to deploy missions and other things. If we choose a mission, the people on the ship will be talking about the upcoming mission and after we finish a mission the ship crew will talk about recent events which is cool, so there's some kind of free roaming around the ship.
